Honestly there are a ton of problems with Blob ranging from the fact that it is a very weak antagonist (Blob basically only wins if the crew is stupid) to the fact that it's probably the least interesting antag to fight against, while also forcing the entire crew to drop what they were doing to go fight it. But this is a discussion for another thread.

I think insulting the people who play against the blob just because the blob player is good at it/has the tools to resist the attack is pretty pretty rude.

  2. I think giving sec borgs ranged lethals at round start for free would screw the balance a LOT, remember that you can still give borgs lethals tho you will need illegals 4 level and diamonds to do so.

I also think cyborgs are cool as they are and they don't need either a nerf or a buff.

  3. Name: Artificial Multitask Automaton

    Age: 20

    Gender: None

    Race: Integrated Positronic Chassis. (IPC)

    Blood Type: Oil

    General Occupational Role(s): Medical

Biography: Built in the 2543 in New Canaan, got their name given by an elder IPC called A.M.A., considering the newly born machine their successor.

Got their technical skills downloaded directly from their parent’s memory, starting to work soon on the reparation and preservation of the chassis of the miners.

Quickly, A.M.A. got pretty interested in the human physiology and, taught by the field doctor from one of the Trans-solar Federation trading ships, started to quickly acquire basic medical skills like splinting or the treatment of minor wounds.

There they met one of the TSF soldiers in charge of the protection of the cargo, who got diagnosticated with the characteristic New Canaan fungus.

A.M.A. using their mechanical and physiological knowledge, made a pair of synthetic lungs with plasteel and titanium that replaced the infected lungs of said soldier saving their life.

Very impressed of their skills and with IPC’s rights being recognized in 2554, Nanotrasen gave them a job as a nurse in one of their hospital ships, acquiring even more experience in organic medicine and studying with the books that the TSF soldier purchased for A.M.A. in exchange, applied for a job in one of the Nanotrasen Science Stations as a doctor, obtaining said employment and being transferred to the NSS Cyberiad in 2561.

Qualifications: Physiology degree, Biomechanical Maintenance degree, doctorate in xenobiological medicine.

Employment Records: Hired as a nurse in the NVR Savior in the 2554, promoted to surgeon in 2561 and transfered to the NSS Cyberiad.

Security Records: Several charges of insubordination, cooperative, refuses to wear proper identification.

Medical Records: The posibrain and their chassis are in pristine conditions.

Personnel Photo (Appearance text): 1,70m/5'7'' tall, standard IPC model, grey colour chassis, their screen appears to show a rainbow, two pairs of antennas on both sides of their head along with the NT logo impressed on their chassis.

Personally, I think borers should get _some kind_ of objective, though maybe not those. Something for them to actively work towards instead of a) dicking around being jerks or b) being a personalized chem dispenser pAI with no agenda.

I think their objective is already just surviving.

  5. To be honest, in my experience, I just had a problem with someone getting up once, and of course was slime vs immortal human so I died.

Most of the times, people just stay on the floor unconscious during an excessive amount of time until they die due to RNG.

    Having tested newcrit today:

    • If you simply attack someone until they die, the amount of hits required to kill them seems excessive. 2-4 full stetchkin clips. 24 esword hits. 39 egun shots. 22 dual esword hits. 43 welder hits.
    • However, only a fraction of that (e.g: one stetchkin clip) is enough to deal someone a mortal wound that will kill them in a minute or so. During that minute they can get back up temporarily, even grab a weapon and shoot you.
    • The advantage of this is that it makes fights more interesting, gives people a chance after they're ambushed, etc. I think it is actually a net benefit to the game.
    • The disadvantage is that the more damage you are applying, the longer it subjectively seems to take for the person to die. Because the more hits you're doing, the more damage you're dealing, and the more it seems like you SHOULD have exhausted their health a long time ago. I had a few times when I VV'ed someone after they died and they had >500 brute or burn damage before dying.
    • As such the main tweak I suggest to newcrit is that the threshold at which someone simply dies from accumulated damage should be significantly lower. It shouldn't take >500 points of brute or burn to trigger instant death. If you're already in crit and you take say another 100 combined new damage beyond what put you in crit, you should probably just die at that point, without any RNG involved.

That said, the system definitely has pros and cons.

It makes fights more interesting (less one-sided) but it also strains immersion at times. It feels a little ridiculous the number of bullets I can pump into someone in a row before they die. But, equally, giving someone the ability to surprise you in combat may help keep the game fresh and make fights actually better.

I mean, if a person has a gun or a knife and you only have your punches, then the fight should probably be one-sided because...well...you don't have a weapon.

What people in newcrit do now is either permakilling (spacing, debraining) as it is faster and prevents you from getting back into the fight or simply using stunning weapons which also still makes combat one-sided as you cannot counter a stunlock.

In my opinion, even with 300 health it would be a bit annoying, as now you would need 5 shoots of .375 to kill, which would still mean an entire magazine to down someone (or several hits of the weapon), it is better than being inmortal until RNG decides to kill you, and probably way less frustrating but is not much better.

    -Green

    -Extended without admins

-Calmed, few greytides are arguing about burning down "furries" and there is a diona nymph biting people randomly, getting killed, respawning as another one and repeating.

-a sec borg is present and BeanOS is somewhere talking as a vox (yaya)

-AI, henceforth, talk only in rhymes.

  8. Space law is meant to be interpreted following its bases of course. If the wiki does not list any other composition c4 then it would probably be possession of a weapon, if you have any doubts regarding the wiki or space law and such, F1 mentorhelp, they will help you, if they don't answer, try submitting another ticket later.

Also shitcurity is a meme and sec in general is very frustrating to play sometimes because of the amount of shit you have to deal with, either you can stand the stress and have fun or you can't, burn out and stop playing sec.

One round I could do X, even ahelped it. Next round I do X and get perma banned. Yes I'm going to complain and argue. But now I can't access direct proof since the notes are hidden.

Hey henk, you could always take a screenshot of the conversation.

Is something I like to do when I ask for permission just In case something similar happens.

While this is all cool, i see a few problems when SoP and Space Law is taken into consideration.

    1. By carrying around a functioning AI inside an Intellicard wihout a valid reason, you are commiting Grand Theft, and by commiting Grand Theft, you're technically Self-Antagging.
    2. By having a custom lawset, and not a NanoTrasen-approved one, you are violating Guideline 6 and 2 of Command SoP for the AI.
    3. Your new upgraded pAI pretty much acts like all-access, and would potentially allow you to commit Trespass/Major Trespass. Someone might not be too happy about this.
    4. Even as the Research Director, you are not permitted to legally build a new AI wihout the permission of the Captain. (Guideline 4 of Science SoP for the Research Director) And i'm doubting the Captain would approve your request of "i want a better pai".
    5. Also, violation of Guideline 7 of Command SoP for the AI in step 3 of the guide.

I think this is just a joke guide.

Or a good guide to Subvert the AI.

If this is a procedure  that applies for everyone then I'd be fine with it, but /just/ security seems a little off, in my opinion, medical gets shit, science gets shit, service gets shit, supply gets shit, so why should security be special?

Because sec is who deals with the shitters and the antags of the round.
