  1. Paranoia... makes you hear sounds which are not there. As in the E-Sword sound or the AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! when a Shadowling ascends. Alot like Schizophrenia, but lighter. Maybe adding only "audio artifacts" for hallucinations. Also a cheap excuse to carry a hatchet arround and hiding on the outpost all shift long if you heard a "revovler" (Trademark by Hele Szi) which is just from that stupid arcade game.

Mentally feeble: Makes you talk brain damage lines every now and then instead of the regular message, some which are memes, some which are plain out lies (you can figure the lies and memes I guess). "JOERGE MWERLINS IS GRIFFING ME, HALOGEN ABSORBS MEH IN MROGUE, AI IS ROUGE, ARES iS NoT A potator, FOR TEH EMPRAH, SPESS MEhReens, Lets' perma Ares, he got 6 bars of sop in his bäckpäck, he is a potato!, Thali is cringy!, Thali Isssssssssssssss not cringy!" (There is a big fat lie hidden in those messages, can you figure which?)

Major Depression: Alot of RP reliant, but that disorder has some nasty sideeffects on your body. You work slower, more inefficent and in general move slower and are alot more tired. That could be implemented as a lower movement speed and randomly not doing tasks you wanted to do (as in press print on the autolathe and nothing happens). The tiredness could be implemented as a higher vulnerability to narcotics and the likes. Oh and also a lower addiction threshhold for drugs.

General Social Anxiety: RP reliant, be a dick to everyone cause you are afraid they might hurt you emotionally.

Cleaning OCD: Get annoying captial red huge font messages when you see messes like blood and that stuff. Other than that no effect.

  2. I disabled instruments. I do like Electric Guitars, but the sound of them is way too loud. Some guy was playing "Sweet home Alabama" on the E-Guitar last night which was really nice. Unfortunatly I had to turn instruments off after that since people startet to play random sounds which really hurts my eardrums alot.

  3. Damn Necromancers and liches... hard to deal with since you have to find their phylactery. While the event sounds good alot of people outright refuse to play borgs going so far to not reentering the MMI when borged or ghosting when they somehow wind up in an MMI. I am part of that group and probably would cryo if I am not permitted to use electromagnetic pulses or other more sophisticated ways (read explosive) to fight for my free will.

  4. An upgrade for IPCs making them EMP resistant would be alright. Not outright immune but rather resistant. Maybe so a strong pulse doesnt blow off all limbs and just rather damages it. Or some shielding for their circuits. Maybe go so far by replacing all semiconductors in their circuits with organometallic counterparts which are alot harder to fry via electromagnetic pulses but requiring alot of tech levels and resources to produce to balance it.

  5. So 2 questions: Was that video taken before or after the chem nerf? Cause that chem mix looks awfully familiar to the one I used a week ago before I was busy working IRL and feeling NOTHING BUT ANGER *Dramatic zoom in*.

Unless you're a botanist or an antag, why have it, then?

I'm sorry, but your post doesn't make sense, though it might be because of a language barrier.

Ah yeah. Sober and no work for me (therefor no overcompetitive mindset) so let me try to rephrase that what I said in a little less of a rabble like way. Lets say I took that hatchet from arrivals. Lets say I go into maintenance for those nice goodies you can find there every shift (like a toolbelt and a multitool). Then you get out of it and move into library. Get asked by some other person if you want to stick together with them for some time. You agree to that and you move into maint with them. Then you run into the described situatiion. 2 Vamps, 2 civis. You get cornered and pretty much have 3 options:

    1) Comply and let them have a succ without fighting back.

    2) Do not comply, yell for help resulting in you getting killed or trying to defend yourself with your hatchet. You will get cuffed and then succed to death pretty much. The Hathchet isnt really that good of a weapon compared what antags get, dont get me wrong its a decent weapon but for anything more than crippling a target you really have to be dedicated to kill them, but a vamp laughs at any form of melee attacks.

    3) option is: You try to book it and run past them. You may get out of it because of out of character reasons as in they have an input delay/lag or I am lagging which means their stun doesnt apply properly. But chances are you just run past behind the first and get stunned by the second and then cuffed and succed to death.

So while some people play it like their character panics and tries to get out others will go for the first option. Which is a problem because it can appear to look like they are feeding the vampire intentionally. Which can lead inevadeably to problems. So considering that: We have a ruleset yes. They are applied most of the time well. Yes. Sometimes however they are applied wrongly or atleast people feel like that. Then if that happens for the first time to most people they try to discuss that out. Sure. Thats a sane thing to do. Then depending on how the admin feels he answers in a way that a person might be slighted. They interpretate it either wrong or just did not understand. Happens on both sides. So the player got: A negative experience with the admin. The admin got a negative opinion/experience with the person in question. And considering we are all humans that bad experience sticks. Like it or not, negative opinions tend to stick alot longer than positive ones and can easily outweight all the good ones you had. So there is the problem: Said people of course speak. Both sides do that once again. Then others get to hear it and they put their own thoughts into it... And then stuff like this happens: "LOOC: I didnt want to get bwoinked for pulling you out... sorry...". Which is unhealthy for the server and for the atmosphere. Fear of getting bwoinked for legitematly helping someone shouldnt be a problem.

Another story: Shuttle griff is bad mkay. Its really bad if it happens pre docking. However: Antags are allowed to kill people on the shuttle aslong they are their targets or relate to their target. So insert me being a blueshit. Was target of a rather lazy traitor who simply hacked 3 borgs. Of course he tells them to just kill me on the shuttle. Now they rush the bridge lube the ground and start hitting me with various implements. What did the rest do on the shuttle bridge? Nothing. Except: "LOOC: Stop it, shuttle grief is not allowed yet..." I'd like to point out that 3 of the 5 people had flashes and 2 of the guys having flashes were adjacent to them. So instead of disabling the borgs they just started an argument over LOOC that this is shuttle griff and not allowed. That experience ruined my round that time. To be honest not the fact the lazy ass traitor told the borgs to just do the deed on the shuttle. Moreso that literally noone does anything on the shuttle when a traitor does their objective. I have seen people getting stunned and set on fire. Yet noone did anything. Thats because of said missconceptions. Which should be cleared up at some point.

Anyways that for this entire thing about rulesets being to strict and shit.

    Now back to the topic:

The thing is that 2 second delay nerfs ALL chems. Even those which werent inheritly broken. So instead of just nerfing the problem child named Fluorosulphuric Acid everything got the boot. Now what does that mean in practice. You cannot even use perfluoro to mute your target efficiently. 2 seconds are enough to time to scream help and where atleast. Maybe even put the name of the person in your scream. Or if you are an immense shitter you have some script ready which makes you simply click the person and click a key combination on your keyboard to do say: "HELP, [Clicked person] is attacking me with [visible item] at [current location]". You can set that up. I have been victim to that kind of shittery myself twice. You cannot type/say fully comphrenseable sentences within a fraction of a second. Those 2 fellows did however. Back to the point. You have tons of chems which dont inheritly kill but rather disable. Now lets say you want to use capu to down your target. Its pretty good at that. Blurred vision initially and about 6-8 seconds or so for you to fall. Dont know the exact numbers right now. But its pretty good without being broken. This gets another 2 second delay now when applied with syringe. Making it rather mediocre. Then you have phlogiston. Its advertised to ignite immediatly on reaction. Not anymore. It is delayed by, once again, 2 seconds from what I understood. Then Mutadone.Instantly should cure mutations. It does that still. But when shot through syringes... again 2 seconds delay. Thats enough time to slide away as a hulk and inject yourself with your backup injector followed by running far and wide to get a biosuit. See what I am trying to point out? That nerf literally busts all chems. Sure grenades work but you cannot use most of them due to their highly destructive nature.

What should have been done instead is following: Fluorosulphuric Acid is a problem. So lets fix that. 75 damage on application... that is a problem. So lets lower it to say 35 maybe 25. Thats still more than Sulphuric Acid from what I understand. And you would need 6 full syringes to drop your target. Which is incredibly hard to pull off compared to the regular 2 which was the case. If someone pulls that off then grats you are robust. Fluorosulph still kills now in 2 shots. It just takes longer. Doesnt really fix the issue in my opinion. With that other approach we would not have gutted all other chems but rather just remove the Fluorosulph cheese entirely without utterly fucking over its other applications for chemical warfare. It is used mainly for the alpha damage on mixes so you get some nice burn damage on your target. So other chems got it easier to burn... not going to name what exactly is being used but I guess you can figure. Once again that would not be an issue if that kind of suggestions would be considered on Github. Now why didnt I bother posting it there? Same reasons as above: Bad experiences I had a while back where it got either completly ignored or just wittled off with the generic "Nah its fine.".

So what I am trying to say: We should really try to improve on the dialogue between: Players, Admins, Developers/Maintainers, Mentors. So bad things and missconceptions like that are avoided in the future and people are actually up to discuss things. How to do that? Well look I am not managing human resources on a regular bases, thats for someone else to figure out. Also going to buy some food so I expand on that on a later point I guess.

Off topic but I find this fascinating... lost a bet today to an engineer from another university. He had a presentation about his carbon based coatings for different kinds of steels and actually got a steel with a Rockwell hardness of 80 HRC. To compare Tungsten-Carbide has 76 HRC which is about as hard as diamond... he had a sample of it with him and showed me... it makes a fucking scratch in a diamond tipped AFM needle without getting damaged by itself... Fascinating right?

  8. Thali Kukeck Vysh Murdock Aaa Name too long says: "I do. I frequently get invited to join a group of literature experts. I dont want to join them but they got some pretty convincing drawings always at hand. While it doesnt sound like sports it really is. See when we are doing literature we like to paint alot of abstract arts. Mostly we draw them under tables and maintenance tunnels. Those artworks are colored red and you put all your sweat and blood into them. Its quite draining. Sometimes my wrists are all wound. And sometimes you get nasty papercuts. Most of the security department does not appreciate our hard art so we have to run a lot. Then we decide to convince them by showing papers with scribbles, nice literature and sculpturing. All the sudden they feel like a statue and spread our art too. Oh and we do good old swordfights too. And push ups and lifting with metal covered in nice art. So we get abs like Nurn'Kal too. Who would have thought that reading literatur with others is so demanding and sportslike. Oh and we chant alot to spread the fun of being a literature expert."

  9. Dunno why I ecen bother replying here or anywhere else since it doesnt matter as I explained to a few people. Also mobile device.

The nerf delays ALL chemical reactions in syringes by 2 seconds. That means essentially all toxins which are underused anyways now take longer. You cannot use perfluoro to mute your target safely anymore cause 2 seconds are enough for a help call and who did it where. Phlog takes 2 full seconds to ignite. Healing chems you could shoot via dart or syringe are delayed too. And since this is a spaghetti nerf you can still make 1 shot smoke darts which is again just annoying to make rather than difficult. Traitor/Agent is no fun if you HAVE to use the items to kill. Because lets face it... with the current ruleset and attitude you get either caught and permaed or some kind of trouble if you remove threats. And thats more likely to happen if you use traitor items.

Traitor chems? Lol only 2 sorta helpfull which again suffer from the 2 second delay: Curare and Venom. Rest is shit. Especially Cyanide. I had trouble killing myself with it at 30 u dosage. Just shitty like it is IRL. /sarcasm Atleast I know what chem gets buffed next /sarcasm

Its just plain wrong to say only Fluoro got affected. All chems you can dispense via Syringe Gun got affected by that. Heck mutadone probably got a 2 seconds delay now too... just as a hint... hulks dont slip so just slide away by running over a blue tomatoe and reapply hulk. Then get a biosuit from maint and be immune. I feel like this turning more and more into a geneva pact forbidding chemical warfare.

We're a medium RP server. We want at least a bit of it. If that isn't your style, there are plenty of other servers out there that will permit you to do what you desire.

While we do permit quite a bit of freedom on character design and how you play the game, we will stomp on that which detracts from the overall environment, such as "going loud" as an antag without hijack.

Sorry for my rather decadent answer but I have to figure this out... Its just sometimes you claim A) You want rounds and antags to be interesting yet I dont have ever any interesting objectives which dont inevadeably fuck my round up (or just are plain out silly when someone gets custom objectives which most of the time doesnt fit the character I am playing) because you get inevadeably caught because you cannot self defend because of fear of getting into trouble while B) claim you want RP to happen and I still get bwoinked when people are in a hostage situation and act as in shocked and fearfull as in not talking because it is metagaming then because of some reason I fail to comprehend even now. Just because I have a hatchet in my backpack doesnt mean I am insane and going to use it on a clearly superior enemy. Heck going stealth is hard enough cause random greytides come and disarm you all the time. And you can do nothing about them but ahelping them so they get warned, leave it be for a good few weeks and start again while your round still got fucked with no compensation of any kind (or that one time a DS got called for 3(!) Xenomorphs). And if you defend yourself you have to explain yourself over and over why you defended yourself while it doesnt matter in the end. Sorry I just have had this exact experience in the past couple weeks, and I mean from both sides, be it not being helped by the paramedic for "I am afraid to get bwoinked" while being on the ground while 2 Syndie-Infiltrators were distracted keeping people cuffed and locked down or be it defending myself as antag from a greytider stalking me all through maint with my target, removing him and then having to explain myself why I killed him. But I am digressing...

  11. Mobile device so sucky formatting.

Was there when the decision about the pull was made. Ling round. Flora was ling and killed targets and competitors. 3 guys in dchat got salty. Admin told them whats inside the syringe (a big big no go in my opinion. And frankly if that happens to my 1 shot syringes as in recipe leaked by admins I just leave.). Guess what 3 people got more salty. Admin did PR. It did get merged. No excuses of balancing. It is a "I ded plz nerf" case. There is no way arround it.

People talk about creating tension yet you take away ANY sort of tension. I would want to see any of you IRL taking a full 15 ml conc fluorosulphuric acid injection without collapsing immediatly in pain. It is meant to burn and kill. It is IRL a superacid for a reason...

Most thing I am recently displeased are however the ridicolous ammount of antag control and RP control. You literally cannot go loud because you either get caught and removed from the round effectivly or get banned/bwoink when you try to fight and kill sec which is hunting you. And bombing your target on their workplace/when isolated... not here cause trouble. Or when some asshole greytide disarms you you book it and later in the same shift kill him so he wont get in your way again also not here. Or you get in trouble when cornered by 2 vamps one starts feeding and you let him because you have a slight chance to survive atleast nope thats metaing then although the context was utterly ignored. It is like you want to force people to play a certain way. Tell you what... that wont work.

Coming to realize things after this week of working intensely IRL... sometimes you are just blinded by some heavenly beauty unable to move. Sorry if I am a little angry or passive aggressive. I have a fairly complicated job IRL and was happy to have a good game to relax. That now slowly shifts to the generic boring qnd rather annoying stuff you start to see everywhere when you are under permanent stress.

  12. Hey Nurn'Kal: There is this AI on Station named "PITTY" which keeps saying that a muscular pitchblack eldritch man with red shining diamond eyes with godlike abs and long hair will drag people into maintenance... Is it referring to you or is it just referring to another one?

  13. It is a white silhouette what appears to be a human or some other humanoid entity. The Human appears to have either short hair or no hair. It lacks ears. The facial features of the entity are either not existent or blend in with the white color. The facical features are unnaturally tight and drawn.

6/10 would be 10/10 if pitchblack, godlike abs, red glaring eyes and long 80's hair...

  16. Aggressive grab is resistable I think. The Neckgrab (red grab) is not normally. The fiberwire garrot is supposed to apply a neck grab (red grab) which can be instantly reinforced to a choke grab (red flashing grab). The cheaper homemade version provides an aggresive grab (blue grab) which can instantly be reinforced to a neckgrab (red grab) without the muting gimmick.

Either way, this item is very overpriced considering you need your target in complete isolation and it takes about 20 full seconds to suffocate it. If you have to kill a scientist... chances are you are found when using it. However for targets like the Chaplin or Psychartrist this item is *drops a carving* very good.

  17. So in said shift a clown did try to steal my toolbelt while a fucking sec officer was watching. Of course I beat the clown up a little and took my belt back. Like any normal sane person would do if none of the bystanders are helping. Instead of helping me get the clown the officer asks like 4 minutes later why the fuck I attacked the clown. He was literally standing, watching and seing the clown take my toolbelt. So I fucked off after telling him I just defended myself. Later that shift we are both on arrest, no notes and I said "Yeah no... I am not going to go with you again. I cryo. Bye." Not my style to do that. But THEY DIDNT EVEN HAVE FUCKING NOTES why someone was arrested and turns out that shift noone of the traitors had a sec headset. Noone. Same shift another sec officer was talking to others why Mike got arrested... noone answered, not even the officer who did the arrest. This must change...

Another thing... Random searches... lets be honest. If its a traitor or agent or whatever you want to call it and you random search him... EXPECT TO GET KILLED. I pull that off everytime someone comes with a "random" search and I am a traitor. Very weird you random search me as soon I step out of science to get food without me doing anything whatsoever. Same for the Ares incident. He gets put into Solitary... EVERY DAMN TIME regardless on what crimes he did. He had an emag once and got put into solitary cause its Ares. That is metagaming. And it sucks. Someone does a flashy grenade from scichem and I am in the shift? "Arrest Thali, someone used a chem grenade." If its not me you can bet your ass that Flora gets arrested. While we werent even involved in the act. Just because we have that kind of reputation. Cant wait for the "Sec officer gibbed in sci maint, get hardsuits boys. Thali got instant kill syringes." to be quite honest.  Anyways... if you random search people, no matter if its on the hallway or anywhere else. If they comply chances are they are no agents or antagonists or they are smart enough to hide the stuff or have their dirty work done anyways and you cannot proof a thing from that point onward. If they have contraband on them you will most likely die and loose them. Sure they get discovered by that but the salt in DCHAT when a sec officer gets killed while random searching... damn... Dont do random searches alone or atleast be prepared to get utterly annihilated...

  18. The Resist on a a choke hold is surely a bug. Never used it but its supposed to kill/choke hold your victim and supress any form of communication (except Telepathy) they can pull off. Havent heard that it makes the noise... but it seems very underwhelming for 12 TC especially since people might be able to resist out of it while a normal grab with kill intent (hard to pull off) cannot be resisted. Its really shitty...
