    In both cases it should make a loud grinding sound of some sort, and perhaps have it stall on occasion and need to be reset.

    But yeah, a drill would be neat for that sort of thing, and add way more tension than just emagging, plus would allow you to defend yourself whilst also taking longer in the process and being louder. A fair tradeoff in my opinion.

    Apart from the mentioned lack of jobs mid shift (which HoP can usually fix *wink wink*) i'd say listing is going well.

     

    I've had more memorable rounds during this time we have been listed, than when things were (usually) a borefest when unlisted (as security atleast).

     

    And security could use couple of extra slots.

    Not just midshift. Everytime. And HoP cant multiply job lockers and equipment(some of which is impossible to order or produce). We need bigger map with more equipment and slots for jobs.

     

  3. Its became impossible to get any good service job but barber even roundstart. Thats just ridiculously awful. We have too much people to provide jobs for everyone. We must either delist again or bring here bigger map with much more slots for every job but assistant.

    There is currently a rather large rework for cult coming, it's probably going to be merged soon-ish. We'll probably be letting it faff around for a bit before commiting to any larger changes.

    Thats actually good to hear. I hope cult would be more fun for everyone after that.

    Just about every shift we have cult there is no actual activity from the cult making the round interesting for the crew. There are just sneaky cultists getting words and sekrit places/white ship and sudden round-end Nar-Nar. For the most of the shift there is NO actual !fun! for the crew making the round being some kind of extended. Thats pretty much opposed to meaning of any antagonist - making round interesting and providing motion to the crew lives.

     

    We either need to rework blood cult, replace it with Ratwar clockwork cult or just dummy it out all together like vox raiders.

    This would need a lot of fluff text changes, new spess law (oh boy, I can hear Tully screaming already), new SoP (No dreams, only tears now Tully.), removal of fax machines (Yeah, take the last joy from the broken Tully), no ERT

    Faxes remains and would much more fun. There would be much more destinations. Solgov, Nanotrasen, some other corporations. Realpolitik as it is. And reworked IAA would be like diplomats.

     

    ERT would be very variable: solgov military, Nanotrasen ERT, Syndicate operatives(if you ever ally with them), mercenaries, vox raiders(might be friendly or traitorous) etc. And spess russians. Everything is better with them.

     

  7. Better give it slightly better damage for everyone, chance of bleeding and ability to slowly force powered airlocks for a very short time(especialy when AI shorten timer). Its full length red crowbar after all. But forcing attempt have a chance of failure and crowbar itself fit only in backpack. critical failure with forcing could be fun too. crowbar slips out and you hit yourself with it.

    This makes me imagine something similar to privatized prisons--companies manage it and retain profits, but they're mere contractors who can have their contract removed.

     

    This would also open up a deeper economic system. No more cargo points, BUY cargo with MONEY. Pay people with adjustable wages. Finally give use to departmental budgeting.

     

    However, all heads still need to be under captain, able to be terminated, etc. or else our well oiled machine falls apart.

     

    Station owner may express his disamusement by perfomance of any private company working as department. And he have money that would be a problem. People dont want to lose their contracts so it would be possible that if HoS is an idiot the rest of contractors would stuncuff him and choose someone as their new leader.

    I got a crazy but probably interesting idea for Para.

    What if we would make Cyberiad not a science station belonging to Nanotrasen but independent private station in possession of some rich man?

    Captain would be a station owner here, who owns the station and houses people here for profit. His power would depends from his diplomacy skills and amount of money in his wallet.

    Security here would be a private security team hired by station owner to maintain his order. HoS is that team boss and commander. Captain is just a men who pays their company and nothing more.

    Medical would be a private medical clinic on board the station. CMO is owner of it and ultimate boss of medical personel.

    Research is a private science facility here with RD being a real director who work with funds. Or maybe just a bunch of independent bright minds with RD being their rich benefactor. Anyway - they need to do real science and useful stuff to keep working.

    QM and his cargonians are private logistics firm. They order and ship goods for money.

    Engineering are are hired repair team.

    Bartender and chief are shop owners on board the station.

    Assistants, clown and other greyshirts are just inhabitants of the station. They can lend rooms or just be hobos.

     

    The main role of NT would be given to Solgov who overwatch the station with its representative - station is situated in Solgov space and is under its jurisdiction.

    Nanotrasen can send their liaison to make deals with station inhabitants.

    Syndicate as well. And station is free to communicate and deal with Syndicate here. However NT would hardly be impressed... Solgov may have different opinion depending from situation.

    ERT is also different. During emergency station owner can send distress beacon - you will never know who will respond to it. Maybe Solgov would send a team of marines or riot police team. Maybe mercenary team would offer their services. Maybe some random bunch of people will arrive to loot the station. Or Syndicate team will arrive to sieze the station to use it as forward base of operations. If station owner in good term with NT he would get a professional rescue team arriving - but it would costs alot.

    My first unlock was brig physician. It was really good.

    Second one was barber. Its just meh. Honorary civilian and Im not into them. Greytide way is not mine.

    And third one was ipc - Glory to synthetic masterrace!

     

    Im gonna get pod pilot or blueshield next. Have not decided which one first yet. And I still need more karma.

     

  11. I have nothing against names referencing to sci-fi or other things as long as they dont look too stupid or terribly unfitting to the game. But even then - who said that people in the future cant use fiction and games as sourse for names? Even now we have freaks who call their children Dovahkiin.

    Well a simple yet needed change to access.

    Lets split Security access on ID in two: Security access and Officer equipment. Security will allow you to enter checkpoint and basic equipment room(with peppersprays and rechargers) and use vendor here. Officer equipment will allow you to enter the room with officer lockers and open them as well.

    Security access will be given to brig physician, Blueshield and Detective so they can replenish their cuffs, recharge issued weapons and get seclight while still having no access to steal baton for hunting valids. Being able to enter checkpoint is also useful for detective and Blueshield due to sec terminal and camera terminal here - they have legitimate access to them already so why cant they get inside?(Brig physician still can being karma job and having officer level of access)

    Officer equipment access would be obviously given to officers, warden, pod pilot and HoS only.

    AFAIK, the shuttles are:

    Science, which already has a bracket

    Engineering, which is right next to the engine and has a protruding airlock and a little nook

    Mining, which is the most trafficked, which again has a protruding airlock and a little nook

    Cargo, which has two airlocks and a timer displaying how long until it splats whatever's in the way

    Escape, which everyone knows

    and

    ERT, which is special-case and fixed at one arrival point.

     

    It's fine man. Just stop hanging around active docking bays and git gud.

    Its problematic to spacewalk near cargo shuttle. You cant see from outside if some sent the shuttle or not. So having catwalks here make sense.

    Maybe... Make it so you can only destroy them from the drone machine on the engi-sat. Gives it an *Official* usage, means drones can still get stuff done but it takes a moment for anyone to remotely detonate them.

    enginesat is too vulnerable

     

    take apart the shuttle computer and ur gud

    People cant in EVA now? You can get to engi sat without jetpack with just rig and extingusher. We also have pod pilot

    From personal experience with maint drones, I've been killed as an AI within the first 30 minutes of a match by a single emagged drone casually waltzing into my core with the sonic hammer. In many ways an emagged drone is more versatile, concealable and deadly than an emagged borg - especially when emagging a drone requires a single click compared to the riskier and more finnicky process of screwing around with a borg's panel in order to emag them.

     

    Need to kill the AI? A drone does that on its own. The captain is hiding in their office and you need to assassinate them? Drone. Need a locker stolen, but don't want your fingerprints on the scene? Emag a drone and have it open the doors for you. Need to sabotage the engine? Send an emagged drone to turn off the emitters and/or overload the PA. Want to convince the crew that the AI is rogue? Order the drone to destroy telecomms, then have it electrify all the doors in medbay and brig. If your emagged drone is caught, it doesn't matter - because even if the drone gets taken out, there's no feasible way for security to trace it back to you.

     

    The problem here isn't that drones can be emagged - it's that emagged drones are disproportionately effective at infiltrating, sabotaging and assassinating a wide variety of targets with almost complete impunity. At present, I would suggest that emagged drones be made a separately-ordered traitor item all on their own.

    Also some syndicate skin for them and different equipment. Make drone a bit like terror drone in Red Alert.

    Flashlight for borg is not so useless as you might think. That flashlight is energy free unlike borg mounted projector. You can keep it on all the time without risk of discharging your power cell.

    Making Standart module more useful is a good idea. A borg not bound to any department and designed to help crew as whole.

    While playing on other server I found a nice option on one of them: you can not only spawn in arrivals shuttle but also in cryodorms(you exit suspended animation) and non-functional gateway(not an option for us but we could probably add a small teleport room near engineering for that.

    It make it people to be less salty when latejoin during nuke round and get killed in arrivals by passing by nukie as well as allow people to spawn closer to their department of choice. Its also adds a bit of arrpee. People no longer disappear into nowhere in cryodorms - they also can exit them and arrpee a member of previous crew who got cryod instead of boarding transfer shuttle.
