  1. Love fastmos as it is currently. It brings back that sense of danger and making space a real enemy once again. With LINDA if ye were to release plasma or any atmos grenade, it woulo take days for it to do any real damage and people just walk away from plasma fires cause it was that fecking slow. Now when there is a plasma fire, its a serious threat. The heated air moves around much faster and plasma itself spreads out quickly.

The knockdown delay with space wind is really long. I think its even the longest possible "one hit" stun in the game bypassing security stun weapons.

Also, the damage items cause is kinda good. I mean if you get hit in a face with glassshard that are going 50 kmph, ye expect real damage. Personal story of mine. Broke into armory, 3 riot shotguns fly at me, chest gets mayor bryte damage and breaks bones in the chest, later broken bones broke lungs and had to have surgery. 11/10 Would almost die to riot shotguns again.

Also, can food contain tools inside?

I know you can put stuff in the bread, but that would get metad fast. Also maybe add somekinda onetime use spacesuits. Put it on and ye are spaceproof. Take it off and it turns into scrap and cannot be used again.

  3. Virology in general is really OP in healing department, but when it come to the "bad stuff", virology really lacks anything... killing wise. I have played virologist quite a bit lately and there are only two real killers. Its either Spontaneous Combustion or Necrotizing Fasciitis.

Necrotizing Fasciitis, while effective with very low stealth, its usually easy to cure. I have tested multiple variants and its either 40 brute every 3 minutes, very easy to detect and cure or easy to detect, a bit harder to cure and only deals 20 brute every 3 minutes.

Spontaneous Combustion can be made very stealthy and really hard to cure, BUT the trigger for someone to light in flames also triggers only every 1-5 minutes. This can be countered really easy by anyone with just a simple resist that puts the flames out in a second. Its impossible to make viruses trigger every 10-15 seconds, but only 1-5 minutes as its random. Making virology for antags a really useless place unless ye want some cheap heals.

If people are going "lol no they'll escape from Perma" and breaking Space Law to do this by giving illegal executions? Let us know. I'd love to correct that.

I have seen you guys crack on down illegal executions more harshly lately, but its a thing, that once done, cannot really be undone. For an antag who has been executed unfair or even without a real reason, its a round ender for them and there is no way for them to continue being a antag. Sometimes it takes weeks to roll antag and just to have it be taken away by some overzealous security member or command really leaves a bad taste in yer mouth. Usually security issues a prisoner who has almost killed someone 501 (Murder) instead of even thinking about 403(Attemped murder) or 402 (manslaughter). That is enough space law reason to get them either borged or executed. I have personally seen how people are given 501 instead of 403, even tho the victim survived and didn't need to be revived. Guess they are few random incidents, but just sayin what i have seen.

No...the whole point of perma is for them to escape. That's partly why perma is so isolated, to give prisoners a chance.

That might be the case, but as this meta has sunk pretty far into peoples minds. I have seen HoS say that do not stick people in perma, they will just escape. This is usually replaced with either borging or just plain out murder (Read finding a reason to execute)

  6. Last time i played it (scientist) then science was missing alot of stuff.

    No sink in science

    No burn chamber for toxins

No real "scichem", the chemistry there was is linked with xenobio in the same workstation, and xenobiologists got mad at me for doing my experiments.

Science on a larger scale felt smaller, RND and Robotics were big, but rest felt tiny.

  7. If vampires have enough blood, they are very hard to contain. No cell can hold a full power vampire.

Capturing a full power vampire with enough blood is hard enough, if vampire knows what hes doing. Only weakness for vampires really are mechs and borgs.

  8. Devil might sound fun, but as much i have seen it on other server, its greytide paradise. Devil basically can give everyone fireball spell and people tend to use it alot, specially new people.

Maybe more cult types? I heard that clockwork cult was added/being added, so that would change things up a bit.

Also maybe move the wizard as a mid round event, rather then a gamemode on it self cause right now wizard rounds are either very short or 95% of the time wizards are very unexperienced. Also to gain experience ye would need to play it quite a bit more so having it rarely pop up is a issue on its own.

People would like the ninja back, but i would say add like a... AVP predator gamemode maybe? 2-3 players are chosen and spawn on a alien ship where they must gear up and utilize stealth to achieve their goals, rather then go guns blazing.

Predator equipment could be something like a clocking armor, shoulder cannon ( long delay, but super deadly, dealing like 90-120 burn each shot cause IIRC its superheated plasma in a can basically that can shoot aliens in half) and a arm blade that deals quite a bit of damage, maybe bonus damage if yer clocked. Also they could have thermal + meson vision? So they would not have xray, but they "sense"the layout around them and have thermals as a heatseeking googles like in the movies... IDK just taking stuff from ontop of mu head.

Fox was the one who showed the pictures where he compared violin and guitar. So yer not crazy, i have seen em also. I guess ye would have to ask @Fox McCloud

  11. Lets talk on a realistic ( boo! Its a game, get out! Listen dammit) standpoint.

Why would someone with astma work in a flour mill? Answer is he will not.

Why would a person with allergies for bees work as a beekeeper? Answer is he will not.

Why would a fecking IPC work on a damn SM engine if they know it shoots out EMP? Answer is they will not.

In short, its natural selection... But in case of SS 13, ye repeat the same damn mistakes and then complain. If a person with bee allergies gets stung working with bees, he doesnt get a chance to complain, cause hes most likely DEAD!

Lets get logical once again (why do people lack logic skill sometimes). If a thing thats only purpose is to kill and disable electonic things hits a eletronic thing, when why should the effect be any  way less lethal. If it would not kill, then it cannot be called EMP since it would be something else. Bug spray kills bugs? Check. Weed killer kills plants? Check. Does a fecking mouse trap kill mouse? Fecking check!

New PR next week.MOUSETRAP INSTA KILLS MOUSE, PLOX NERF I DED. ADD DELAY TO MECHANICAL SPRINGS.

So 2 questions: Was that video taken before or after the chem nerf? Cause that chem mix looks awfully familiar to the one I used a week ago before I was busy working IRL and feeling NOTHING BUT ANGER *Dramatic zoom in*.

As of this moment the PR is still not merged, so pre-nerf. Its was a simple Fluoro, phlogiston and sarin. Didn't go fancy since chems were my backup and only made 6 syringes for when the shit hits the fan. Thought i would use my crossbow as a main. If yer experienced scichem veteran who has blow up scichem at least one, then different veterans mixes start to look the same. Chems are either Op/great or god awful/ not worth the time. Workin in scichem for a few hours and ye can already see which are superiour and which should never be touched.

So you didn't shoot the crossbow once :C

I did once :p. Forgot to edit that in, but while i was running to around in science collecting tools for surgery, a abductor tried to get me. I waited for him to run at me and shot him with the crossbow. He fell down and soon as i went in to smash his head, he teleported out. (Sadface)

  14. NEW SEASON IS HERE!

After people kept PMing and sayin i should start again, so here it is!

    ALSO!!!!

I wanna start doing a "Myth Busting" Series on the Paradise branch!
So leave yer crazy and interesting idea ye want me to test on here on the forums as a PM or on discord @Bigtimetripod.

Hopefully its something ye would enjoy.

No, it will just take a second to work. Think of it this way, currently if your shot with a syringe you will take damage from the acid hitting you (like you were splashed) and the acid being in your system and hurting you. With the new system, you loose the first part.

Think of this through the lens of realism. When your hit by a dart, the dart doesn't instantly work on you. It injects you with fluid which then affects you. That's what this PR does, it's not a conspiracy nor was it hidden.

Yeah, Kluys explained it already again. It was just a reaction to what Ansari said AKA Fluoro still loses its 75 damage. All is good in the world again.

  16. 18 minutes ago, Ansari said:

As an example of what this PR will do:
    1. It will stop flurosulphuric acid from doing 75 burn damage instantly when shot, because this depends on ingesting >10 unit of Facid. Damage over time still applies, but that instant 75 damage is gone.

So basically it will still "break" Fluorosulphuric acid and it loses its damage effect making it act like a normal toxic chemical...

    Which is fine ye know...

    just...

    Chems will die in effectivness...
    Alot..

Why are the PRs made against chems usually nerfing em to the ground and not "balancing" them like fox has tagged on Github. Balance and feature removal are 2 very different things.

    19 minutes ago, Ansari said:

An example of what it will not do:
    1. Add in a random chemical reaction delay.
    2. Breaking mutadone, or any other chemicals that function by using the on_mob_life function (e.g. phlogistan)

It cannot break mutadone. Mutadone works tick to tick basis, nothing is changed there. Phlogiston ignites by TOUCH method not tick to tick.

Unless you're a botanist or an antag, why have it, then?

I'm sorry, but your post doesn't make sense, though it might be because of a language barrier.

TBH, there has been a hatchet in arrivals "public" botanic garden for ages now. Sayin that you have it and be processed for having it in yer backpack is kinda iffy. Basically if a security officer wants to be a scumbag, he could camp around the arrivals botanic garden and wait for someone to pick it up, stun him for having a lethal weapon that does not involve his job, process him and have the victim be locked away for at least 10 minutes...

    Iffy...

  18. BigTimeTripod...

Kinda a odd name, but i have Xbox to thank for that. I always wanted a unique online nickname. Before BTT i used Shadow6991 and even my darn battle.net username is Sparkles. I never had the time to come up with an original nickname.

A quite a few years ago i got me self that brand spanking new Xbox 360... Well... it wasent that new and its was flashed (yes im a cheap brick who lives in a cheap country and with one average month salary back then ye could buy about 10 full price xbox games and yer broke for the rest of the month). When ye want to join xbox live,  then ye need to have an original nickname aka something like KittenPunisher69. That was the moment i felt i needed something original ja interesting. After entering a few names, they were all taken and then i got a suggestion that i will never forget... BigTimeTripod68285 (orsmtinglikethat). I stopped for a minute and thought about this name. I deleted the numbers and only left BigTimeTripod. To my suprise, it was not taken and i claimed it as my own. I thought i was a interesting name, since i'm heavy into Sci-fi and first thing about the name reminded me about the movie World of The Worlds. A big ass hulking alien tripod that reigns supreme over the battlefield.

And thats the story how i got my nickname, BTT

Also people have pointed out that my name makes em think about a big ass camera tripod that has a suit on it... Im oke with that. :P

  19. As antag, try something new.

Being a one man army might land you karma, but if you do not have hijack or wanted by the station, its hard to make yer self seen.

Personal experience: I had hijack and played it safe. Caused some minor chaos, maxcapped medbay cloning and cryo, disabled the stations powergrid with a maxcap and after engineers gave up on fixing it, shuttle was called. As the shuttle docked, little did 40-50 people waiting for it knew, that i hid 2 more maxcaps in escape. Soon as the shuttle docked, i pulled out my trusty signaler and froze the server for a good 5 minutes cause it was having trouble processing 40-50 people getting blow up and gibbed. As the dust settled and lag spikes died down, i boarded the shuttle and had it all to my self... or so i thought. Some ass hid in a locker and i didnt know he was there. Safe to say i failed, but i still netted quite the bit of karma and even Jayfeather called me a Cuban Pete. Ever since then, every time i go loud as antag, i always get a agent ID and name it Cuban Pete, PhD in Chems, Killing & Bombs.

Now there is people getting mad about the nerf, why? because they are upset their styles, killing styles of abusing fluorosolf(or other deathmixes) has been ruined.(aka powergaming)

They don't bother much using their actual gear they get as an agent, or powers, when they seem pretty useful.

Just like pinatacolada said, there is Syndicate gears who DEAL like 75 damage.

    • You can buy deathchems with the uplink which are even better.

Though, everyone wants to do it the cheap way and get instant kill chems and weapons for ''FREE''.

What i see from science chemistry:

-Everyone experiments on making deathmixes that are super powerful.

I thought the point of science chemistry was to create mixes that benefits the station and science well, not everything has to be ''deathmixes''.

Healmixes, stimulants, Funchems and a bunch of other stuff.

I still agree that only fluorosulphuric acid should've been nerfed, not all chemistry by its self.

Powergaming in SS 13 is basically gearing up to counter every possible threat on station when there is no need for it. Getting fluoro syringes to kill yer objective is only a tiny part of the whole "powergamer" stereotype.

AKA Captain runs into science to get dental implants full of healing crap, raids security for weapons and equipment, "borrows" tools and gloves from engineering just to sit at the bridge and prepare him to deal with everything thrown at him/her. That is powergaming in SS 13. Sayin ye use chemical warfare as yer main weapon is hardly powergaming.

I use alot of antag gear as tator, vamp or cling. They are too far useful to ignore. Everything cannot be dealt with chems.

Need healing as vamp? Just regenerate. Need healing as cling? Get regenerate power or use the time consuming free stasis one to fix everything for free.

"Deathchems" in tator uplink are hardly or never worth it. Its RNG and too expensive to keep buying to get something good. There is a chance ye buy 5 bottles and all end up being cyanide if yer luck has abandoned ye. This is a topic that needs to be talked about and buffed a bit to make it even close to worth it unless ye like throwing telecrystals against the wall.

Scichem was made to test different chemicals and come up with interesting and new ways to use them. It does not need to be for the benefit of the station.

Yes, at some point everyone in scichem tests death mixes and killer chems, but if thats all they test then they are doing a poor job "testing" chemicals. I, who has spent countless hours in scichem, have come up with all kinds of interesting stuff that i keep teaching others. Healing spray? Done. Mass heal bombs? Done. Mutate 5 monkeys to human with one grenade? Done. Etc.

If ye want chems that benefit the station, head to medbay chem lab. Scichem is meant to test all kinds of things related to chemicals so that the real chemists would not blow up half medbay when they are doing it.

If this PR merges, it will nerf Fluoro and that nerf is needed. It keeps the fluoro still deadly, but slows the "instadeath" factor down quite a bit.

  21. 8 hours ago, pinatacolada said:

    Opposed to shooting memechems once

This method is no longer viable as a way to assasinate someone. Shooting one syringe full of chemicals (not just fluoro) takes either very long to kill someone or they just survive long enough to keep themselfs healed or run to medbay. Standard today is that atleast 2 syringes are needed to kill someone and have a chance of looting them or running away.

Comparing different methods to kill people is difficult in this game. Some say beating a clown to death with a toolbox is the best way, other use their experience and knowledge to kill others. The tools ye use are up to you and obtaining them all have different levels of complexity. Drawing is strait line and sayin that riot shotgun is better then a retro laser gun is not ture. Everything has their own uses.

  22. 9 minutes ago, pinatacolada said:

Lets put this under perspective, here is a list of syndicate items that deal 75 damage or around it or more or instagib or you get the point, and their cost:

    • His Grace - 20TC, and even so, you need to stun the guy first
    • Power Gloves, maybe, if the engine is hotwired or something stupid - 10TC
    • Revolver, assuming no armour - 13TC + 4TC for each speedloader if you fancy it

that's it really, I can't think of any changeling or vamp or cult abilities that deal around 75 damage instantly

You are defending that something you can manufacture for zero TCs, indefinitely for the duration of the round as long as you have chem access, can compete and even outshine the above?

    1. Steal a laser gun (multiple ways to obtain)

    2. Shot a person 5 times and leave him to die (30 burn each shot 30*5=150, enough for hard crit and oxygen damage does the rest)

    3. 5 shots left, enough to kill a another person

    4. Recharge and repeat

    5. Syndicate engineers hate him! Learn his secrets now!

Bonus! Advanced laser gun recharges it self! Kill more for less!
