  1. They're actually not that much different sorry to say. Sometimes close to being the exact same. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if a man gets called a woman just because he has long hair like he belongs in a garage band.
  2. It's really a disappointing shame when you come up with a good and actually "useful" suggestion. Then people just refuse to do it and dismiss it because of excuses like "it requires a lot of coding". This is more of an "excuse" now than a reason to not implement something. Talk about lazy. But then again, I'm not really a coder myself, so I wouldn't really know the stress and effort.
  3. No I'm not saying this just for pervish desires okay? I'm just noticing a lot of people are mistaking female characters for males by calling them "he" or "him". Which can get annoying if you think about it. Especially if your name includes a first name that is not a boy or girl's name.
  4. Having to roleplay and survive on a space station where you could be killed at any moment and having to learn and do your assigned job on the station is challenging enough and I also see nothing "challenging" about having a disability either.
  5. that's literally the entire point, making your character more "unique" while not giving anyone an unfair advantage I see nothing "unique" about it. Sorry, but I don't.
  6. I'm no coder. But I feel like adding perks, while a fun idea, will be needed to be tested a lot for balance reasons and I feel like adding a perk mechanic is a lot of work to do. Plus I hear that most people here on the server and on this website are not into accepting suggestions that require a lot of "coding" to be implemented in the game. I'm all for this idea, but I feel like it should be looked into before people start thinking about adding it. But to be honest though, what's the point of having a disability if you don't have the option of having a perk to make up for it? I mean, I get it. Disabilities like "near-sighted" and "obese" are for RP reasons. But still, I find it incredibly pointless how I can't also choose something that gives my character a permanent buff in something. Seriously, give me at least 10 people who use disabilities just for role play purposes. Go on, I dare you. Name 10 people who actually uses disabilities in this game. That's right. Close to none. Because all it does is give us a weakness and nothing else. Like say if I'm obese, obviously I won't be able to run a lot. But as a benefit, I can take more physical pain. Almost to the point where my character is wearing the secs body armor. Just without the armor. Or how about if I'm near-sighted, I'm able to see things that the normal naked human eye can't see. The trade off being that I have to be extremely close to see hidden things. It's stuff like this that make character customization more interesting. You're having to think of "risk versus reward" over this kind of stuff. It makes you think "Can I make my ability work with my disability?" Basically all I'm saying is, give the "disability" mechanic an actual purpose to actually "use" in the game. Make it to where it also gives us a benefit as a sort of "trade off" mechanic.
  7. Fox and not wanting RP doesn't go together in the slightest, least, not if you look at the github or a number of his comments elsewhere. If anything, this is actually pretty abnormal from what I usually see from the guy, and something I've thought about for a while. In the end, as a frequent medical or pseudo-medical players, I can say that the infections actually do add to it, and as it stands, I'm inclined to enjoy how they are right now. Fully explained reasons were incredibly well done by the novella Tully wrote on it. Well I apologize for that then. I just assumed Fox is not really thinking clearly when he makes these posts. Made me think he wants Space Station 13 to be too. . .what's the word. . .too "arcade-y".
  8. I'm starting to think the OP has no intentions of RPing on this server. Because this isn't the first suggestion thread he posted to where he wants a vital "Role playing element" removed from the game. He just sounds like he wants this game too simplified and "arcade-y". Fox, if you're not going to appreciate the "role playing" on this game and instead complain about role playing elements in which that's what this game is supposed to have, which is "role playing on a station", you might as well just stop playing Space Station 13 all together and stop posting these pointless suggestion posts. Because they're not going to happen. Sorry, but they're not. No matter how much you dislike it. Tough luck. I mean really, this post was just as pointless as your post that suggested you wanted the auto-aim removed. If you want to play a shooter, you're playing the wrong game, as well as uploading posts on the wrong forums. I highly recommend you change your direction of where you want to suggest this game to go. That's my only criticism I can give you.
  9. I'm honestly not sure if this is in the game yet because I haven't even tried it out yet. But I whenever you're being grabbed aggressively, all you have to do is move away from your grabber and you're free. I feel like it shouldn't work that way. Because it's obvious that whenever you get grabbed aggressively in real life, you don't just move away from someone just to get free. You have to try to get their grasp off you before you can escape. So I feel like the aggressive grabbing should be tweaked a bit where you don't just "move away" from your grabber just to escape. You have to struggle against their grab to escape by pressing resist and pray that you'll get their grab off you. Also since the "buff" ability is just for show, why not give it a purpose where your grab is more stronger and it requires more resistance to break free? Anyway, yes. That's my other suggestion. Also this is off topic, but I find it weird how you can't stab someone in the eyes with a screwdriver if they're wearing a hat, but no mask. I mean, your eyes are obviously not on your forehead. So I think this needs some tweaking to where a hat doesn't equal eye protection. Only masks.
  10. Zomgponies overhauled the medical system and forgot/ purposely removed it. How come there isn't a mechanic where you get injured to the point you can't stand, but remain conscious? That's something Hippie has. Indeed. But I feel like Paradise Station should have it too.
  11. How come there isn't a mechanic where you get injured to the point you can't stand, but remain conscious?
  12. As much as I like the suspense of being seriously injured, it's kind of silly that we don't have the option to crawl on the floor whenever we can't stand up due to being too weak from all types of damage. So I would like a crawling mechanic to be implemented that will allow us to sacrifice a bit of our strength to attempt to crawl in one direction. I mean Hippie Station does this exact same thing. Why not add it into Paradise Station?
  13. I know we could just push a character to the floor using the disarm intent. But the fact that we don't have the choice of disarming or pushing and instead have to rely on chance, it's kind of stupid in my opinion. So I honestly would like the option of choosing to knock down or disarm instead of having the game choose randomly for me. If that can't be done, then at least put an option to make a character trip and fall to the ground by aiming at their legs with the disarm intent. Which gives them a chance at making their opponent fall to the ground by luring/baiting them to trip over your leg if they're hitting you with a melee weapon or fists. The chances of them getting lured into being tripped over slightly increase the more they hit you. Because they become more focused at hitting you and become less focused at watching out from being tripped.
  14. Too little. 5 dmg? 25 minutes. That's a lot of time. IMO sleep should aid you in surviving heavy injuries. Should slow down your death and accelerate some meds. But nothing else! We don't need another source of healing! Yes I agree. Sleep should help aid in surviving heavy injuries and being unconscious should also do the same. But only if whatever is killing you while you're unconscious has stopped causing you pain and suffering. Like if someone has stopped beating your unconscious body and decides to leave you, your body will start to slowly regenerate to slow the process of death, but not to get you back on your feet. Or if someone has pulled you out of a place that has no oxygen, into a place that has oxygen. Once you start breathing oxygen for a brief moment, you stop dying through lack of oxygen. Though you'll still remain unconscious unless you seek medical help.
  15. What made you think sleeping should heal injuries crazy fast anyway? I never once said any of that, so I have no idea what made you wander off the world of "realism" all of the sudden. Of course sleeping should be able to make the healing process of meds and other such helpful medicine work more efficient. But I feel like it should also heal without them, if such medical help is not available. Only at a very realistic slow pace though. Like only heal 1 damage for all types after 5 minutes of sleep.
  16. Well I do ask the Bartender for the "Doctor's Delight" drink. But I hear it only heals Toxin damage and nothing else.
  17. Seems rather silly to have it heal 1 brute damage every second. Would've made more sense to have it only heal 1 per 2 or 3 minutes.
  18. I can't say for sure if this is in the game or not. But I feel like it isn't in the game. Which I feel like it should be since I think the base game of Space Station 13 has this. Anyway here's my suggestion. I want the nutrients of food in our body to be able to heal very minor wounds as they're still digesting in your body. Because it kind of makes me wonder why I have a bruise on my body and it doesn't seem to heal unless I get first aid on it. It should be able to heal on its own. On top of that, the nutrients should be able to heal small cuts that we get as well and turn the cuts into scabs in a few short minutes. Again, I can't say for sure if this is already in the game. Because I can't tell if it just takes forever or there's no healing at all when there's nutrients in your body. Regardless, I wish for the nutrients from the food we eat to have healing properties. Sure it would never heal major injuries like major deep cuts or fractured bones. But it still would be great to have the nutrients of our body to heal our minor injuries. Since I think that works with real life people as well. The only downside is you'll be digesting and burning through your food a little bit faster whenever the nutrients in your body start to heal minor injuries. So you'll be getting hungry a little bit quicker than normal and nutrients healing stops whenever you see the yellow burger icon. Showing that you're getting a little peckish. Also I feel like there's no point to sleeping other than RP purposes like if you want to act like your character is getting sleepy. So I kind of want sleeping to be able to very slowly heal suffocation damage and toxin damage. Because you're breathing slower than normal when sleeping which gives your lungs a little time to rest and relax; And it is true that sick people will sometimes get better through a good night's sleep. Not sure if there's sickness in the game, because all I know is that there's viruses, diseases and toxins. I don't know for sure about sickness like catching a cold or having a soar throat. If there isn't any sickness, then I think sleep should be able to very slowly heal viruses, diseases and toxins that are in the body. Sure it would take almost forever to heal whatever is making your body sick, but it would be helpful if medbay isn't available. Not to mention it would give medbay more time to save you from death if whatever is in your body is killing you. Anyway, that is all.
  19. Seems like an okay idea, but one time I tried making people pay for drinks while I was playing as a bartender; one character said that employees of the station are able to enjoy things such as food, drinks and such free of charge. I don't know if that's written in the Space Law or in Nanotrasen something something. . .I honestly don't know. I don't remember where it says that employees on the station are bound to give away items for free should the other employee need it or wants it. Anyway I don't see much of a point since you can only sell items to civilians. Who are characters just visiting the station. Not people who work in the station. Though I have one question. What does EPTOS stand for?
  20. You forgot to mention that a completely buildable kitchen would also relieve the fact of when there's no "Chef" on the station. Tired of rounds of where no one is in charge of the kitchen and the rest of the station is left starving and barely living on jerky and chips.
  21. I honestly have no clue how exactly does adding a quick item slot mechanic changes the difficulty of the game, so in turn, I have no idea what you're talking about.
  22. No it would not give them more power, because every character would be able to use this kind of mechanic just like security can. It will work for any pocket and belt in the game. Not just for security belts. The reason being that someone could steal or wear a belt from engineering and have quick items that way. Not to mention it is obviously possible for a traitor to be an engineer or someone part of the engineering career. It is not restricted to just security so again, they would not have more power over others. They would have the same amount of power over someone that's wearing a belt just like they are. Except most others don't have instastun items like security does (Nobody even thinks about making stunprods.) If you want to instantly pull something out, have it in a pocket or put it in your bag and have the bag menu open. Or use the tried and trusted disarm intent and hide in a locker. Why should it matter if they don't have an insta stun weapon anyway? It's plain obvious that only security has access to this, so it would be weird having one around when you're not sec. Regardless though, you have the option of stealing a stun weapon if that becomes a problem and if you need one. Here's the thing though, I don't like having the bag menu open. It takes up too much of the screen for me and there's no point of having it open if I got what I needed out of it. Also, are you forgetting that you can't necessarily put "every" item in your pocket? Tried putting my stun stick and stun gun in my pocket. Too big to fit.

  24. No it actually does not. In real life, you can just pull out the item from your pocket or your belt within a few seconds. Backpacks however, you would have to take the backpack off your back if you're wearing it, unzip it, look into the backpack and scrounge under the items in it to find the item you need. Then you grab it and then you get to use it. Which could take more than just a few seconds. Doesn't really take a genius to figure this out. Just saying.
