The OP meant resisting arrest when spamming the resist while dragging them to the brig, not while in it. At any rate, the whole throwing people into processing is just stupid. I always make it a priority to drop my prisoners off in a cell and be off, its just a waste of time to have them buckle cuffed in a chair and then make them verbally repeat their crimes for which you already know about.

But that is a different issue it seems from the one with the Grey Zone in the Wiki.

 

Anyway, I will talk to administration about adding a note to the Space Law wiki regarding Law 101, and stating in plain text "The Resist key, no matter how many times spammed, does not constitute as resisting arrest."

I honestly don't have a problem with this objective. I don't get any more enjoyment out of the game after completing my objectives and just waiting to sit on the shuttle to Centcomm, then slaughter like two people with my cool snowflake antag weapons before being Greytided.

 

Instead, I can now look for an interesting way to kill myself for the amusement of myself and others.

I always attempt to throw people in a cell as quick as possible because dragging some one around just wastes your time and theirs; no one wins. But there are times when you are unable to immediately leave an area with your prisoner and you do need to keep him detained so he does not try running away/beating you to death. Some officers may find this spam of red text annoying, I am fine with it because I gotten attuned to reading the chat box.

 

Anyway, my only qualm as of right now is the grey zone on the wiki for Space Law. I do not care for which way it goes because this generally does not affect me because the "Resist" key spam does not irk me; considering I find myself doing it sometimes as well.

 

And yes it is a Grey Zone considering anyone kinda of new to security would use common sense and infer that the "RESIST" key is resisting arrest. And without proper context, especially if they are new to security, its a fair thing to infer.

We still get plenty of people while unlisted. If the server population became a real problem, I am sure community administration would look into it.

For one click of it, yes, but for spam clicking the resist key and continue to go on even when the officer tells you to stop? No, its not. At that point, the person fully knows what they are doing by spamming the "Resist" key.

Very good, I hope rest of the staff agree to such a needed change. Hopefully with this, it will be another joyous improvement to the job of being a security officer which will in turn encourage more good players to play the vital role.
