  1. Perhaps give the ability to the HoP, so they can give transfers the headset key they need?
  2. YES. Impromptu mind project blocking. Make it with package wrappers!
  3. I love the fact that greys can communicate from anywhere, which is VERY nice for those who dislike using anything but telepathy (like me). However, I still have some issues with the telepath system. Nothing new needs to be changed, unless you want to remove the all-range telepathy for balance. My "Project Mind" Idea: Zero delay. PDAs have no delay, Speech has no delay, so why something that is basically a cross of the two? I am okay with removing the HTML ability. As nice as it was, I can see how it was abused. However, the blue "You hear a voice echo..." text is VERY easy to miss, and not very customizable, which, in my opinion, was a big draw as a grey. Perhaps implement BBCode, like writing has? Telepathy while unconscious Don't do that! Since you can communicate with everyone, this would break MANY antags! If you choose to keep the *talking to anyone anywhere* thing, maybe make it put the people in the room bolded, at the top of the list, or both? Right now, finding someone in the room is difficult. Also, here's some stuff which could be added if you really want, for some plusses / balancing. Optional Stuff: Maybe, to balance the being able to communicate with everyone, have two telepathy abilities, one that works short range and has no delay, and one that has a delay like the current one and can communicate with anyone? Perhaps have the telepathy menu include an identifier for who is a grey, so you can know your brethren! (And who not to play pranks on with anonymous telepathy) Keep people with mind shielding on the list, but make it so that if you try to contact them, you get knocked out or something! (Southern Conspiracy Theorist Voice) That'll teach 'em for trying to project their mind rays into my brain! Thanks for considering my buffs/debuffs! Also, thanks to Mark for responding so quickly to my last request. Sorry for making more!
  4. Personally, if we're going by lore at all, I feel like resurrecting a slime should be possible by extracting it's core (the slime coring machine in Xenobio, perhaps?) and pouring a large beaker's worth of water on it.
  5. I think that "soft" space suits would be very nice for races that need hardsuit modification, since I read somewhere that they did not need the modifications to work. Perhaps give them greater mobility and speed than hardsuits, but without the damage reduction?
  6. What kind of changeling are you that you can get away with eating someone in front of half the station? The point is, since the range is limited to people you can see, it would be DIFFICULT, to say the least, to alert someone to your problem.
  7. The telepathy button is still there when you're unconscious. Also, since we're keeping the range limit on telepathy, there's not much you could do with unconscious telepathy besides direct someone through your own surgery.
  8. It is programmed to deny you trying to use telepathy while unconscious, which sorta sucks if you keep on passing out and you want to tell people what's wrong.
  9. This was a topic over in bug reports for some reason, so I am putting the general information here. Right now, here's the buff/debuff list for Greys: Buffs: Telepathy on startup Sulphuric acid is to greys as water is to humans. Debuffs: Super Unrobust Water is to greys as sulphuric acid is to humans. I really only got greys for their amazing spawning with telepathy, but telepathy is INCREDIBLY nerfed. 10 second delay, and only when the person you're contacting is on screen and you're not passed out. Now, I can understand making it for only people on screen, as otherwise you might discover antags before they do anything, but the 10 second delay? The restriction to being awake? Sort of unnecessary, especially when this requires you to have one of the easiest to exploit weaknesses out of any race, unless you bother to do genetics for half the round. Thoughts?
  10. As nice as this would be, I feel that it would ruin the !!FUN!! from having a slime outbreak when a lazy xenobiologist decides to keep all the doors open
  11. Make foods separate chemicals like cigarettes do, so I can have steak that makes more steak when eaten. Also, I suppose a cryostatic syringe would be nice.
  12. Hm, good idea, didn't read that thread until now.
  13. This would essentially replace the door jack, but at the same time, retain its' function. Used in the same way as a door jack, it would allow a pAI to control a single computer at a time for it's master. Some balancing, perhaps, would be that it can only access it's master's level of access to computers? I don't know. Edit: See first comment!
  14. Personally, I believe that HoP with all access makes a lot of sense for his job; He is next in line to become captain, and he oversees all staff.
  15. Bulma managed to be the GREATEST. REPORTER. EVER. Here's all of her stories. Also, Ian is Jesus. Disclaimer: I am not the RPer for Bulma, please don't think I am ░▒▓██████████████████████▓▒░ Another sample of Bulma's work! Note again, I am not Bulma. Credit to Afelirick for taking the screenies this time!
  16. Personally, I'd rather keep the console control, but definitely remove the ability to destroy things with vines. Also, having multi-diona interfaces sound very interesting! Mostly, the reason I thought this up, was my frequenting of Xenobiology, which required lots of movement, and I thought that a diona becoming a living factory fit in with the lore quite nicely.
  17. Well, FJ45, as much as I thought out the benefits of the thing, I still haven't thought of balancing. Any suggestions you could make to have it less abuse-able?
  18. So, my GRAND AND PROBABLY HARD TO CODE idea is for Diona to be able to become a sort of mini-gestalt on station. Basically, you need to consume insert-arbitrary-amount-of-food here, and then are capable of planting yourself down. Once you do, it basically makes you a sort of strange cross between space vines and blob, where you can grow yourself intentionally outwards, but people are still able to walk over you. If you grow over a machine or computer, you can eventually upgrade that root to be able to control it. You can also make roots transform into item-using roots, storage roots, "wall" roots to protect yourself , and conveyor roots for transporting non-holdable items. Finally, if you want to go back to being a diona capable of actually moving, you must first collect all of your roots back into yourself, and then you are able to move. Until then, you are a sitting duck (besides your walls). You'd be VERY vulnerable to fire, and because your roots are thinner outside of your collective mass, anything except for root walls will be susceptible to physical damage. I figured this'd go well with lore, and make diona have an industrious option, instead of walking around at the speed of a limping snail. Of course, it needs some sort of problem with growing too far, or something. Figure that part out yourselves.
