Been playing Blueshield recently, and a few things I'd like come to mind.

First, headwear. There's a black Centcomm Officer Beret that I think would go really well with the look, but also a Corporate Security Cap (Renamed?), or a Dermal Armor Patch.

Second, Jumpsuits. Currently, the options are NT Navy Uniform (Spawns with) and 2x Centcomm Officer Jumpsuit, all three of which look the same. I'd appreciate some non-identical options here, maybe Executive Suits? There's one with a tie for men, and one with a collar for women - Same ones that spawn in the Locker Room. I'm not sure if there's fancy black jumpsuits in-code that are admin-only or otherwise unavailable, but if so, consider those too.

E: Tacticool/Tactical/Combat Turtlenecks would also be an excellently stylish option, provided it has suit sensors.

Thirdly, Jumpsuit Accessory. I'd like to see something alongside the black webbing vest, for green alert/demilitarized. A shoulder holster would work wonders here.

Fourthly, an E-Gun would be a wonderful thing to have, instead of the starting Taser.

Finally, the Blueshield is issued a Revolver, but no spare ammunition. Please fix.

Fake Edit: What if you issue the Blueshield a Mateba and a box of .357, instead of the Detective's revolver?

E: Also, at full staff, a Blueshield has to deal with five heads, one captain, and himself, for a total of seven people. Eight if you include the NT rep. More Death Alarm implants would make my job easier. Actually, scratch that. I think it's more Fun if I have to divide heads into essential, non-essential, and expendable.

I've also recently begun to play Blueshield alot, having recently bought it. I have to agree with the jumpsuit designs, having three jumpsuits that are exactly the same does not add much variety. A fancy suit would be great. Personally I wouldn't see a use for a shoulder holster, as I often keep the .32 on the Armor, and spare ammo (more on that in a sec) in my webbing vest, as well as precious items I'm given to protect (such as the disc).

I agree that either giving us an Egun or some spare ammo for the .32. Every round I have to either beg cargo for some speedloaders or borderline bust in there and make some myself. Just 6 shots isnt enough to do jack crap. However, I think that giving blueshield a Mateba would be a little too OP, as two shots from one can crit just about anybody. I personally agree, in terms of weaponry, Blueshield needs either an Egun or a couple reloads for the revolver, but not both.

Edit: Also, on heads of staff priority. Personally, I believe I would go, from most to least important-

    - Captain

    - Head of Personell

    - Head of Security

    - Chief Engineer

    - Chief Medical Officer

    - Research Director

    - Nanotransen Rep

I can see this as a tricky argument. While the HoP, Cap, and HoS have some degree of ability to defend themselves, they are often the main targets. Yet, while the RD, NT Rep, CE, and CMO are not as high targets, they cannot as easily defend themselves and are vulnerable to attacks if left alone. Its like a catch 22.

Hey there. A short while ago, I decided to make a guide for all the non-human racial traits for those who don't know which race to try, or in the case of the karma ones, buy. While slim at first, this guide has since expanded into a (mostly) reliable source of information for such a topic. Enjoy!

    * = Unconfirmed

Note that the ups and downs are in relation to the human race, such as Tajarans do more punch damage than HUMANS. If an up or down is not stated (IE: It does not state that the race is immune to viruses) it should be assumed they share that same particular attribute with humans.

    Vox:

    Birdlike beings

    - Breathe only Nitrogen

    - Given a Nitrogen tank at round start.

    - Cannot wear hardsuits fit for humans, but can use magboots

    - Special Vox language, :V

    - Costs 45 Karma

    - Has claws, attack bonus when punching

    - Immune to Pressure, so therefore spaceproof

    - OldVox and NewVox variations available

    > OldVox spawns with a large Nitrogen tank on their back

    > NewVox spawns with a proper satchel or backpack and a 2.5 hour long nitrogen tank in their pocket

    Tajaran:

    Catlike beings

    - Cannot wear gloves due to their claws; gloves must be cut with wirecutters prior to use

    - Cannot use hardsuits fit for humans, can use a kit to modify it to their figure (found in EVA and Mining Dock)

    - Better night vision

    - Punches do more damage

    - Less vulnerable to cold

    - More vulnerable to heat

    - Unique language: :J

    - No cost to play

    Slime People

    Sentient slime beings

    - Cannot be cloned

    - Costs 45 Karma

    - Slime language :F, Bubblish, very difficult to speak if not a slime

    - No internal organs of any type, and therefore no damage related to such

    - Bleeds water

    - Does not need air

    - Stronger punches

    - If used with an SE monkey injector, turned into an adult slime

    Greys

    Stereotype big head aliens

    - Can use telepathy to talk to one person at any distance

    - 30 karma cost

    - Take 30% more brute damage

    Kidan

    Insect beings

    - Natural armor. Takes 20% less Brute damage.

    - Cannot wear glasses or other eye-slot items

    - Special language, shortcut for it is :4, Chitin.

    - 30 Karma cost

    - Can eat diona nymphs, live or dead

    Diona

    Tree beings

    - Slower than other races

    - Does not bleed

    - Better punches

    - Spaceproof, does not need to breathe, pressure isnt an issue

    - Requires light to survive. Lack of light gradually kills. Presence of light has a healing factor for toxins and brute.

    - Radiation resistance. Large doses (IE: Singularity and radiation storm) don't seem to have anything beyond short term effects.

    - Special language; :q

    - No karma cost

    - Does not feel pain - can take any amount of damage without falling into pain crit, but will fall down in the seconds before death.

    - Extremely vulnerable to "Plant-B-Gone" weed killer, 2 sprays is lethal.

    Skrell

    Fishlike beings

    - Can breathe underwater, usefulness in space is limited

    - Cannot wear hardsuit helmets not tailored for them

    - No karma cost

    - Special language: :K

    Unathi

    Reptilian beings

    - Higher punching damage

    - Slightly better night vison

    - Good heat resistance

    - Bad cold resistance

    - Special language: :o

    - Cannot wear human gloves, boots, or hardsuits unless modified

    - No karma cost

    Machine Race:

-Immune to pain (Pain stills drops them but only at negative -100% Paincrit which they recover from fairly quickly)

-Immune to Oxygen Deprivation, doesnt breathe

-Weak to Brute Damage (take about 30% more brute damage)

-Consumes Electrical Power from APC devices. Use grab intent on an APC to do so. Replenishes hunger by doing so.

-Limbs are easily lost and injured

    - All forms of radiation inflict no damage and the radiation random event and supermatter explosion do not give hallucinations

    - Immune to clone damage, that is, doesn't take clone damage from slime attacks but the other damages that they inflict remains.

    - Cannot use SE injectors

    -No blood, cannot bleed out.

-Low pressure is extremely lethal, causes overheating very quickly

-Extremely sensitive to EMPs, even slight exposure can be instantly lethal.

-Has no pulse. Can only be determined if alive by Medical Scanner-Medical HUD

    - Does not process any reagents whatsoever. Injected poisons and medicines alike have no effect and can even be extracted later with a syringe.

    - Cannot eat or drink, including consuming pills.

    - Fully mechanical body. This means that as well as being weak to EMPs, every body part can be repaired to more or less the full extent with a welder (brute) or cable coil (burn), but you cannot repair yourself.

    - Cannot catch diseases

    - Cannot be cloned. Instead, collect their arms, legs, head, body, reattach the head to the body, then reattach the limbs to the body to bring back to artificial life.

    - 1 laser shot to the unprotected head usually = death

    - Special language, Trinary, used by :5

    - Can use *beep, *ping, and *buzz like a borg can

    - 15 Karma Cost

    Plasma People

    People made of plasma

Note: Race is currently in a beta phase and buggy. Further details on race will be provided when available.

    - Requires a space suit at all times and therefore cannot wear anything else on the Exosuit slot or helmet slot. (given one of each at round start)

    - Breathes only Plasma (given a tank of it at round start for this purpose)

    - Gets set on fire if suit or helmet is taken off

    - Effectively immune to viruses because of suit and plasma internals

The blood colours for all races:

    Plasmen bleed red

    Greys bleed red

Vox Armalis don't bleed at all

    Skrell bleed dark blue

    Tajaran bleed red

    Unathi bleed red

    Vox bleed sky blue

    Kidan bleed red

    Diona don't bleed at all

    IPCs don't bleed at all

Slime People have clear blood / water

Another issue I have with identifying antags is that people always seem to metagame information.

Syndicate nuke teams are supposed to be mostly unexpected and people shouldn't shout "Nuke team" whenever they see a guy in red armor.

People shouldn't instantly go "AI Rogue" whenever the Ai or its borgs do something slightly off key as according to Baystation Wiki, AIs are NOT KNOWN TO MALFUNCTION.

The same thing goes with emags. People shouldnt say they're 'emagged', they shouldnt even know the term.

I could go on and on for almost every antag type. This needs to be enforced a little more, or at least recommend players read this.

  4. Hey there! I've been playing on Paradise for a few weeks now and decided I should make a forum account to stay updated with what's going on and such. While most of you have probably never heard of me / seen me on the server, my characters are ATLAS (not to be confused with the A.T.L.A.S. with periods I've seen once) when I play Ai or a Borg, Alden Walker when I'm a human job, and my human job name used to be Donny Gettemy before I changed it. Pleased to meet all of you!
