It would be cool if we can dip swords n stuff in poisons that will apply the effect on the target when attacked obviously it be on_touch chems

We could also add some traitor kit

THE DIP KIT with specialised poisons for it like dizziness hallucinating etc

dip one spear in potassium, another in water.

This is just stupid, potassium and water aren't nearly as explosive as you think.

In response to the OP, while this is a "common" thing in medieval RPG's and the like, it the truth is that the "poison" would be is such low quantity, or would try out too quickly to do any real damage, unless it is extremely potent.

This means that either this needs to be extremely OP, by applying a lot of the reagent smeared on the item, or have no effect at all. It seems like it'd be very hard to balance as well, and I don't see it being used for anything else than scientists and chemists becoming more powerful.

A traitor item for this would probably be more suited, to be honest.

Goon tried this out...and having seen the impacts of it, it's just not really a good idea.

It has the same problem as syringe stabbing and auto-injector refilling has---it's the go to thing to use in most situations as an antag (or even as a defensive weapon), and will be utilized constantly by anyone with even the slightest of "powergamey" leanings.

On the potassium/water thing, we already have explosive lances.

But a big no to this idea, the one hypospray on station we have already is powerful enough on its own.

There shouldn't be more things like it.

To give an honest response, we already have sleepy pens for traitors, and non-antag chemists already have enough methods to apply their creations. It's a fun idea, but that's not enough to add it to the game.
