Most of the toys are super obvious that they're toys, too.

 

ie: Crypto ID decal is obvious it's a fake since more often than not, they're wearing it as an actual ID.

 

Most of the other toys have "toy" in their name, as well, making it obvious.

 

This wouldn't be obvious, and worse yet, it would always lead to people thinking the AI was malf.

I'm pretty neutral on the idea but it could be like fake insuls where there is a 'it doesn't look x' message at the end of the shift examine window. And upon actually being physicall interacted (viewed with a left click open hand, or ID swiped, hit with any item) the decal would pop off and APC return to normal.

Lots of people don't know how to play the game, I've seen shifts where Captain and HoS freaked the fuck out over a 'blue' APC and went to red alert and were about to purge the AI when the CE finally made his way over and pointed out it was charging, not a BSOD APC.

 

Besides, first thing any good player should do when they see a BSOD APC is examine it, if the functions are unlocked then its an emag, if its just BSOD with the locks still in place its malf.

Sometimes access requirements may make it troublesome. But yeah, usually it's worth doublechecking this in case of emags anyway. You've got a valid point.
