  1. If so, then Changelings Stings perhaps shouldn't work. A Changeling stung me the other day and my muscles seized up and I collapsed, though I think the duration was less, I didn't take toxin damage and the changeling seemed to struggle to grasp my neck. Also yes, it's very frustrating if your body somehow actually dies (i.e whisper skeletonisation bug) and you're stuck with genetic defects you really can't cure. Edit: Also, I've not particularly noticed that I've been taking EXTRA brute damage, and I've not noticed myself suffering more than anybody else in low-pressure environments. In fact yesterday when an AI was siphonining out my air in a confined space, nothing happened.
  2. I've just checked, you can draw blood from machine people.
  3. Viruses don't cling to clothing, but I suppose you could convert the plasma contamination code to work on machine people with viruses? Yeah, I have literally no idea what i'm talking about.
  4. Yeah. I'm thinking maybe make it so you can't extract blood from machine people? I don't know how hard that would be.
  5. Well I considered that, but I'd be worried that people would start infecting machine people intentionally with diseases, shoving them underneath showers and then extracting their 'blood' to use to synthesise a cure.
  6. I was almost going to put this in general discussion, but decided that perhaps Suggestions would be a better fit. Should the way diseases interact with Machine People be changed? Given that they have such a vastly different 'biology' to even the Greys and Diona, in that they have no cells as such for viruses and diseases to take hold in. I feel that as they have no biology for a disease to take advantage of, they shouldn't suffer the SYMPTOMS of a disease. So they won't burst apart for GBS or sneeze or feel any benefits from any beneficial diseases. However I feel that if they contract an infectious disease, they should act as a sort of carrier and spread it around. So that during a disease outbreak it's still important to quarantine machine people, and manage any diseases they do have. I'm more interested in a discussion here as opposed to an actual implementation, but it's something that's been bothering me lately, ever since I was infected with false GBS. Edit: I've also not considered much how machine people should interact with alien parasites.
  7. Also Machine People should have access to the *ping, *beep and *buzz emotes. You should also be able to define commands via the Drone Console. For example, you ping 'atmospherics' to them, and you can add a comment to be sent to them such as 'Please clean up all the blood'.
  8. Because then you wouldn't need to go into the object tab to click 'look in storage'
  9. Actually having a slot for webbing vests defeats the point of webbing vests. ALTHOUGH if you could have a little icon at the top left that you can click to OPEN the webbing vest, that'd make it a lot more convenient to use/
  10. The Paramedic Vest should be able to hold flashlights in the exosuit slot. The Paramedic Jumpsuit should be able to be rolled down so I can expose my muscular chest/sleek robotic chassis as i save everybody.
  11. It'd be nice if Mech Pilots could start with Firefighter Ripley or an Odysseus.
  12. Idiots won't listen to you regardless of whether or not they have a blue suit on. They're idiots. The blue suit will have little effect on the internal operations of an ERT team. The blue suit, i believe, is for the benefit of external parties like the station crew.
  13. don't you mean paint to light up machine people and slime people
  14. If someone in an ERT team is capable of leadership, you'll find he'll end up leading regardless of whether or not he has a blue suit on. People are like that.
  15. I came after the ruined patch. I found some enjoyment in it, but even fall of the dominion took that away.
  16. Maybe not. It should certainly do them massive damage, but I think collapsing into a heap of items, disembodied limbs and head is more than enough of a drawback. It would also be nice if Roboticists could produce machine people parts such as the head and torso.
  17. Idle suggestion. Machine People re-assembly is bugged at the moment, you can't re-attach limbs and heads via surgery. But perhaps instead of requiring it via surgery, they should be able to re-attach their limbs pretty easily, given they come off so easily too. Like perhaps they pick up an arm, spend ten seconds to 1 minute standing still and then they've re-attached it. Of course they still have to deal with structural damage (the smallest amount of damage will make them fall apart again), but they'd have limbs to do it with. Similarly someone else can grab a machine-person's head, shove it back onto the shoulders and give them an arm, and leave them to re-assemble themselves.
  18. Attacking my motivations doesn't devalue my concerns. Please don't attack me personally, it's shitty. As for this, I still disagree with it. If anything I think we should be focusing on improving current roles and making them more effective at their jobs as opposed to creating entirely new roles that are hidden behind karma barriers.
  19. Yes but by doing so the rescue technician would be making other jobs obselete. By putting out fires he's making atmos techs obsolete, by providing lighting, he's making Janitors and Engineers obsolete; by keeping people away from the scene he's making security obsolete. There's no need for this role other than for one guy to feel like a hero.
  20. To be honest, I think the Paramedic has more than enough to do the job of the Rescue Technician. Giving him firefighting gear, grenades, barricades, axes and a special gas-mask isn't going to improve the SS13 experience imo, the Rescue Technician is just going to overshadow the paramedic with all the special things it can do, and reduce the importance of other jobs like Atmospheric Technician and Engineer and ERT. Moreover, I hate the idea of creating special jobs that most people won't be able to play right off the bat. I don't know why, but people seem to think that giving a job a karma-point requirement is an adequate enough barrier to suggest 'hero-mode' characters that come with special and powerful gear. It's nice for players to have as much choice in the job they want to play as possible. Paramedic is hero enough, imo. If you want him to be more heroic, just give him engineering access. That seems to solve most of your issues with rescuing people anyway.
  21. I quite like playing Paramedic. I find that with my ambulance, hardsuit and crew sensor console, there's little I can't tackle with a bit of cooperation and preparation.
  22. Pen was a last-minute thought. I haven't tested to see if you can stuff them behind your ears, all I know is that you can't do it with cigarettes. Lit or not.
  23. I want to place my cigarettes and pens (sometimes lit) behind my ear when i'm not using them (for example I want to do CPR and fill my victim- patients with nicotine and tar-filled goodness).
  24. i play drakken bjorn, BUP and Varia in-game.
