So if im chatting with someone and they are guiding me on lets say. Build a borg as a roboticist. Does that count as IC intel?

Hey there. To clarify some stuff. You are well within your rights to get some one to help you ooc to figure out the server. Just need to make sure the currently online server admins are aware. We have allowed this type of thing quite a few times before and I see no reason why we wouldn't in this case. While we would prefer you mhelp questions we completely understand that sometimes that may not work for every one.

I've had several rounds where people have combed the station for sentient pets specifically looking to kill any that've been ghosted into, scientists chasing down drones to smash/deconstruct them for no reason, and been locked in a fridge for the specific purpose of being forced to ghost and lose respawnability. People are just dicks to ghost roles.

If this is something that happens then please ahelp that. That's being a dick. However if a pet is running around being a menace then getting killed is kinda what you should expect to happen.

It has been stated before that if you become a Xeno or Terror, your consciousness is subsumed by the hivemind and you are to work towards the goals of said hive.

Syndie borgs are given the syndicate lawset as above,

Outside of those instances people shouldn't suddenly start wrecking up the place.

This, to the best of my awareness, has been the policy for at least as long as I've been an admin. Probably longer.

I’m super anti social and have constantly felt bad pestering people to reach me roles.

Don't sweat asking for help. People tend to be fairly helpful and asking staff is very much encouraged if you've got questions and the like.

  5. Don't make the QM a head because you don't want to handle supply, if any one asks for all access tell them no, if people ask for additional access to departments ask the relevant departmental head, and for any other areas ask the Captain, and don't make the clown acting anything.

    -Curse of the Cluwne

I think people greatly misunderstand how powerful this spell kinda is. It's a touch spell that means you can then ignore the person and they'll just be killed off because Cluwnes are valid.

Well you dont got much of a thing to say here never being a wiz, making this kind of just speculation

Some one never rolling wizard doesn't mean they can't add to a conversation in a positive, constructive way. Experience as a specific antag isn't entirely a make or break when you have a lot of time on the server. What I've seen a lot of wizards win or lose on isn't not knowing what the right spells to take it's getting outplayed. I've seen absolute monster wizards get taken down because they didn't know some mechanic or they made a mistake that got capitalized on by a more advanced player.

remove the surgery table and operating table from robotics.

I feel the last thing any of us truly wants is Robotics having more time to mass produce combat mechs.

If there are no cybernetic techs available, the roboticist might need to be called upon to assist in IPC repairs

The issue with this idea is that when roboticists may need to be called due to it not being part of their standard duties they'll likely either not know how to do it or not be as proficient.

The little surgery corner in Robotics has always felt weirdly out of place to me.

It's not really that out of place when you think about the fact that they do borgings and IPC repair.

This would let them bridge the two depts

This doesn't work for genetics. I don't see why it would work for this idea.

and help IPC crew get back on their feet faster.

The issue for this isn't IPCs not getting repaired fast enough. I think their initial issue was "Man it sucks that robotics gets blown up so often." As an IPC you kinda just have to accept your lot in life in this regard.

    5) said "The AI has to obey its laws.", it meant that the AI has to obey its laws.

So I've quoted this from the advanced rules before but I feel I may not have explained this well enough.

    Quote

Common sense should be used with interpretation of lawsets. The AI is assumed to be one that NT and CC want on the station.

Yes. You are required to follow your laws. But you're required to do so in a way that shows you have common sense. I.E. why would CentComm send a borg to the station to open every door every one asks them to and not just issue out universal door remotes if that was they wanted? I feel that'd be substantially cheaper than an AI.

let the clown in to take the NAD--which is also a crime that, once committed, may easily escalate into harm depending on how both parties react.

Code 407- Grand theft. Thus them letting the clown in to steal that stuff can lead to the clown being executed. Which means you just performed an action that leads to crew harm.

You're either refusing to open the door, in which case you're breaking your laws and risk getting bwoinked

Yeah cuz what would Spark and I know about what an admin would bwoink some one about, am I right?

It's a lose lose situation, and one of the reasons crewsimov is my least liked lawset to play.

Look. I hate crewsimov. But you are grossly overthinking the consequences of telling people "No" on it.

Why would the profit oriented Nanotrasen give unneeded supplies to the now sizable portion of their crews?

I always just treat it as a "The box isn't for you it's for some dip shit meat bag who you can reasonably save." because it's easier to get to your box in an emergency than theirs. I've had to use it working in toxins when my partner plasma floods it to save them far too many times for me to prefer something I can go to cargo to get if I need it over that.

  11.

For new synthetic players, do you have any tips or suggestions on how to be a better synthetic and avoid accidentally breaking a law or applying their laws in a bad way?

Reading the advanced rules is a pretty solid idea. For example:

I think that the best thing you can do when you go into playing silicon roles is realize that you're not really associated with any of the departments that your modules represent. You just have the tools to assist those departments when those goals align with your laws.

Advanced rules silicon and drone policy bullet 3:

"The AI, while having the responsibilities of Command does not carry the same authority as command and is to be considered a tool to assist the crew in their duties aboard the station."

So basically... yes you're not associated with the departments. But for the most part you are obligated to do your job. Yes there are lawsets that obviously exempt you from this. But it's less "You only help them when your tools align with theirs" and more "You're a tool made to help them unless your laws specifically dictate otherwise"

If the clown asks you to open the captain's office (With spare ID and NAD inside) and noone immediately contradicts him, you are compelled to open the office

In regards to the clown asking to get into the Captain's Office that is a Law 2 command, if I were in this situation I would likely ask for a reason first to ensure that the clown will not endanger the crew, and if they give a reason that won't, let them in

    Bullet 2:

"Common sense should be used with interpretation of lawsets. The AI is assumed to be one that NT and CC want on the station."

Common sense typically would dictate that NT likely doesn't want people entering places they shouldn't with out a legitimate reason.
