I think the antags should be given more freedom, if not, then rounds like traitor should have more traitors. I don't mean to stir old blood, but one time I had the die gloriously objective, and suicide bombed a room full of heads with a minibomb. I almost got banned, though another admin on at the time told them not to. Seriously, if someone with Die Gloriously nearly gets banned for suicide bombing a room full of heads, that's a problem. This was a while ago though, but as far as I'm aware the policy hasn't changed.

    EDIT:

Further point, removing the restrictions to a degree serves to benefit those who want do fun stuff as antags. Right now if they want to do something interesting, they have to pm an admin, at which point they'll be given the admins reply along with some unclear restrictions on what they can actually do. Of course, this would lead to more public bombings. Ok. I personally think that a single maxcap in a hallway is fine. Multiple maxcaps in multiple places rendering the entire station destroyed, not ok. People who abuse the restrictions would slowly be brought into line, or banned. People who are going to use cheesy gimmicks, are going to use them on our current ruleset, which encourages them to use the memestrats. Murder rampages are fine too, so long as they are rampaging, and not stuffing the corpses into a locker to never be found again. The crew can recover from a rampage. Bombs can be repaired. It keeps the rounds moreso interesting, rather than a bunch of people silently memecheming their target.

  2. I like changelings because they are really free to go about what they do. A changeling can go through maint killing people one by one and it's A ok, or they can just stealth sting people for DNA. They have access to some pretty good gimmick stuff too. Compared to traitors, (Which I think is a better mode) where traitors are fairly leashed to what they do. I think how changeling currently plays would be nice to be taken to traitor mode.

  3. Yeah I don't think Vox Leap or Vent Crawl should be considered relevant to discussion. Active abilities are generally bad. Vulps/Tarj lighting up like nam would be a good debuff for a sizable buff. That's the only obvious one I can think of. Not for furry hate, but for interesting mechanics. Vox having to wear the big back tanks would more than make up for their spacewalking capabilities. I think it'd be cool if Unathi were resistant to infections, or almost outright immune to them, maybe being alot more susceptible to toxins causing them a slew of symptons making them convulse etc., skrell I've got no clue.

  4. Seeing an extra tile can mean a really big difference Lyricjupiter. I suggested last night that Vulps at a certain threshold of burn damage from 1 source (10), lights them up and gives them spacenam flashbacks. They'd need a big buff of course. I don't say that to hate on vulps, I think it'd be an honestly interesting mechanic that could be backed up with a buff. EDIT: Also I think Vox should have FORCED tanks on their back to balance out the spacewalking.

  5. Antags can't do fun shit, which is why so many of our current kills are shitty and unfun. Gimmicks which requires randoms can't be done because it can't be done on randoms, making the traitors job so much harder if it's say... A warden or head. That means unfun rounds for everyone, with the traitor trying really hard to get around the goal when they want to do something interesting.

  6. I'm not saying there wouldn't be, but alot of people tend to do what you're saying because of it. It won't remove it and people will be assholes, but alot of people only seem to be an asshole cos of the reason we're talking about. Whether or not who the problem is.

Clearly peculiar colors are the true pertinent cause of ills and problems in SS13 and not the condescending, hostile, and trollish behaviors a lot of our players (even regulars) routinely engage in.

To be fair, saying neutrally, the peculiar colors are part of the reason that happens.

  8. I like the idea of stealing everything and getting money for it, heads could be worth alot of $$$ to make them to want to kidnap important people but still keep them blasting irrelevant people. I'm not against them pew pewing people though so...

I'm currently working on a rework for Vampires which is basically a new gamemode. Current Vampires lack alot of flavor, this aims to make the mode more interesting for everyone.

    Current plans: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1J_M ... sp=sharing

The plans are mainly ideas and a goal to work towards. They up for major edits and definitely aren't final.

    Current game progress:

Vampires can create a lair and detect that they are indeed inside of a lair. The vampires blood points are taken into account if the spell requires such. Coffins can be made. They can be destroyed with bibles!

Currently have a system for creating lair objects. Just need to make the lair objects now.

The Torture Rack working as intended ;' )

Vampires dust on death and return to their coffin. (Needs to be changed to include a timer)

    Currently being worked on:

Creating the ritual system for the ritual table

Vampires should be able to respawn in their coffin after a time limit according to how many times they have died.

    How it works codewise(Muh snowflake):

Currently, to make vampires dust and execute the code relevant to making them respawn, I implemented a list called death_effects inside of /mob. death_effects should contains objects that have a proc called Action(). When death() is called, it checks through the death_effects inside of the list and executes them. It takes into account whether or not the target has been gibbed so we don't get it calling dust() and gib() on the target one after the other. The code still executes, it just doesn't try to dust or gib the target.

For detecting whether or not a vampire is inside of a lair, a datum called effect_area is made. The effect_area has a size and a related effect_object. A new datum of effect_area places effect_objects in the radius equal to size. For checking, it returns the datum related to the effect_object inside of the area. This can be implemented anywhere and is used for giving Lairs a specific owner and expanding the Lair further.

Still a major WIP! I'll update this as major progress updates are made

  10. I'd like them to be more swashbuckling orientated, and based more on stereotype pirates rather than space raiders. Spess pirates don't work for non one. Blackpowder weapons, swords etc. etc.

  11.

We have coroners who could preserve bodies by injecting them with formaldehyde. They just never do it.

But still a good idea anyway.

I understand that, but mostly corpses that aren't stored in the morgue don't have the opportunity for even a competent coroner to save them from decay.

  12. Corpses decay to the point where they can't be cloned, and the chaplain is useful on rare occasions. The ritual would basically "cleanse" the corpse of the decay, and restore it to the point where it can be cloned. This would give the chaplain a permanent role and be a pretty cool mechanic. I'm willing to code this, but I'd like to see if the idea would be well received and if there are any ideas for the ritual.
