  1. What about two borg options? The standard medical however with some more medicine, and the other is a surgical borg. With VERY basic medicine, but access to surgical tools. Along with a rechargeable anesthesia shot as it can't put the person to sleep with the normal method.
  2. This is probably very impractical, but what if when somebody goes SSD and their ID isn't taken within a minute, the ID loses it's access with a (Temporarily inactive) labelled on it, and it becomes unmovable until the player rejoins. I don't think I really stated that so well but may as well throw it out there in case someone thinks of an improvement.
  3. I like all of these a lot, fourth one I think already is there, the first one I think if there are too many pills in the bottle it says NAME has begun chugging PILL BOTTLE NAME! and then following that NAME has begun choking on pills! They require CPR! Though examining it should say "this bottle looks like it has several pills in it, it's probably not a good idea to eat all at once"
  4. Doesn't really seem to have a point, the people who know know that they have SSD, those who don't usually just ignore them.
  5. metastation just seems way too large. the designers may have built it for that, but I prefer the density we have with box. Box with upwards of 70 people is far far too crowded. eh... I must disagree with that. Even if it should be expanded, out of the two I think utopia looks much better

  7. Telescience isn't used as it should in my opinion, there's lots of oft untapped potential within telescience, and this guide shall hopefully teach you how to use it effectively along with a couple ways to be useful. How do I work this thing? It is actually quite simple, 7th grade level math actually! So, as a quick explanation. picture the station, and all z levels as a graph, x equals the direction right, y is up, -x is down, -y is down, z is depth, just think of it as the z-level, i.e, derelict station vs. spacestation13. (You can't go negative, that's just explaining how to modify your teleports to be more precise), so say you have 56, 133, and you want an item that's three to the left, and two down, you would take away three from x, and two from y, and bam, now you have 53, 131, enjoy your clown suit. But wait! Before you slap in that number and teleport the captain in accidentally and get yourself shot, you have to calibrate and figure out what c is in the equation y=1x+c. If you understand that equation, great! If not, don't worry, you don't quite need it. If X was anything other than one you'd probably want to know it though. Open one of the closets and wear the radiation suit, to protect you from the teleporter's radiation, now grab two GPS units, name them each something you can remember, I name the one I keep on my person the first four letters of my name (i.e, "FEAR", for my character fear of the wind) and the other one "TEST". Set the one labelled "TEST" on the telepad (TIP: Make sure you don't set it on the cargo telepad, that one is useless). And head to your computer, you might want to open notepad at this time as well (windows key + r, type in notepad and hit enter). Click on X and type in 30, and then Y and type in 31, and lastly, click Z and type in 3 (1 is the station's Z-level, but if you're sending GPS's around there some dick might steal it. 3 is in space so much less of a chance), now you can finally click send. Proceed to click the GPS you have in your inventory and see the coordinates that "TEST" is at. For this example we're going to assume it's 25, 36. Write those two numbers in notepad, you can just copy paste this and fill in numbers. X SEND1= 30 X RESULT1= 25 Y SEND1= 31 Y RESULT1= 36 Now, many players do two tests to test for slope, however I have NEVER had a slope different than one, so this seems to be unnecessary. So we now have our results, notice anything? The result that we get for X is 5 below what we put in, so if we want to send something to 80, we have to type in 85. The result for Y is 5 above what we put in, so to account for this we must put our y coordinate as 5 below the intended location. An example: I want to save a dieing player from 155, 68, 1. That's empty space just south of the station, so feel free to send a GPS to make sure you're doing your stuff right. to account for X, we must add 5 to the desired location, so we punch in 160 for X. For Y, we must subtract 5 from the desired location, so 63. What we have punched in is 160, 63, 1. So we should be able to receive the dead player in the example. One more thing to note, if you need a coordinate of a location, head to that location and then use your GPS to find the location of yourself, easy! So, what SHOULD I do with this? Helpful things! Be creative! I'll list a couple examples however Send dead/injured people to medbay This is pretty self-explanatory, but you need a few items. First you'll need a crew monitoring computer circuit, and the necessary items to build a computer. I'm not going to explain how to do that here, it's up to you to "acquire" the stuff, you're a scientist so you should be able to get all of that. Or you can stay in close contact with a medical bay staff who's glued to the crew monitoring computer. But quite simply what you do is teleport in dead/injured players, as their coordinates are given on the computer, and then send them to med-bay. (Here's a coordinate to help you out, 143, 125 is the med-bay lobby). Assist security. Why not teleport arrested persons to the brig, if security are willing to trust you? How this would optimally work out is you have a crew monitoring computer, and a security headset. When an officer arrests somebody they can have you teleport the bad man to the brig, so they don't have to be dragged through the hallway. To do this you'd have an officer stand still, probably out of the way a little and they'd say "teleport the guy to the right of me that I've arrested", and hopefully they stand still for a second so you don't mess up. (Here is two of the cells 106, 166 and 106, 170.) I NEED A TAXI You can figure this out, someone wants to get to a location quickly. You can do so, you probably want to gather a bunch of coordinates before doing so. One more note Your teleporter can become uncalibrated with use, it will tell you, hit recalibrate, put your GPS back on, and repeat what you began with.
  8. I wouldn't think so, but I'm not a programmer so take what I said with a grain of salt until someone smarter says something an alternative could be to have the antimatter sitting there by default in one room, and has a decently sized secure storage that has RUST, supermatter, and singularity parts. And have an area large enough to have one of the three built in. So this way there's an easy power source for newbie engineers, and other options if an engineer desires to do one of them. it'd be a little tricky to build a room capable of being used for all three. However, it should be possible to have a room work compatible with all three.
  9. To reduce the amount of empty space as engineers leave 3 of them empty what if two random ones of the last four you listed spawned at the start of each round. Or anti-matter is guaranteed to be one of two, and then one other is selected at random?
  10. Making a map could be a great idea, especially if the mapper puts up several polls and stuff so we end up with a station a majority of people like.
  11. This is the greatest thing ever suggested
  12. I'd rather keep the current station, I feel it's the perfect size.
  13. So.. the wizard should be removed? Or hell, we also have the cultists. I'd say SS13 has a decent amount of magic within it, it's rare stuff though.
  14. lots of sci-fi includes some magic though
  15. And I thank you for the lengthy explanation on why, I now see why magic should never be added. because it's a sci-fi game the space wizard? Even the chaplain's religion exists pretty much, pray command gets response from admins sometimes, and their book heals people.
  16. And I thank you for the lengthy explanation on why, I now see why magic should never be added.
  17. To make admins jobs easier rather than having them chase down people like that all day.
  18. I wish heads could extend the shuttle launch time up to say, 5 minutes, say the singularity got loose but the shuttle is safe, or something else that's not dangerous to the shuttle, it gives time to rescue those people. Same procedure as shortening, they'd go onto the computer, and be given two options.
  19. Here's one idea (or two I guess) Alchemy (Regular) one piece of normal gold 15 units of blood in a syringe to REPRESENT THOSE WHO DIED MINING FO' THE STUFF 50 units of phosphoric acid to REPRESENT THE NON-REACTIVENESS OF GOLD. A thing of stew, you need a pot to perform alchemy in! Outputs a pot to be used for alchemy, you'd put 50 sheets of metal into it, and it would output 40 units of gold, 10 units of silver. it would take 3 seconds per unit and would glow quite brightly while doing the alchemy. Second version is the same as above, but with the champion belt from the vault, which would turn your metal into a random material, fur, silver, diamond, etc. and would take 5 seconds per item.
  20. I find this to be a pretty good solution, how about a week for RD, CE,CMO, HOP, and two weeks for HoS and captain. In my experience on other servers, if the wait time is too lengthy it seems that the head jobs aren't all filled too often, though correlation doesn't equal causation.
  21. One alternative is to have the AI be able to help activate red alert in place of the other head, so one head plus AI can call it if needed.
  22. This is a very small suggestion, but it would be quite handy. When spying on people as an AI using the microphone it comes out the exact same color as normal radio chat, while all other channels get their own color. Yeah you can tell the different between channels by the frequency at the end, but this suggestion would just help ledgibility, perhaps color it blue or cyan?
  23. Disagree, this would punish potentially good heads of staff who are new to the server, but not SS13, some people I notice really only just play as a head of staff and do a great job. I'd recommend just temp job-banning heads for incompetence. And as with the above, it's winter break so there's a decent chance they'll stop playing after
  24. Several jobs already do, but I'd support a more fleshed out list of objectives.
  25. Eh... I don't quite see why, the hydroponics in this is very similar to real hydroponics, just without the making sense part, and some added nymphs. And by definition it's "a person who owns or manages a farm.", which hydroponics isn't really a farm.
