Malicious Sentient Virus (GENIUS gamemode idea)

I was daydreaming before I dozed off last night, and concocted this concept for a game mode that I think would be pretty radical and give a strange twist to the sort of gameplay found in Cortical Borer rounds.

Here's the outline:

Antagonist(s): A harmful sentient virus (or digital alien life form). This entity has no physical form of their own, and would begin the round INSIDE of a random computer console, non-organic player character, or alternatively a PDA. NEVER within the AI however. ALTERNATIVELY it would be cool if robotics or R&D had the ability to create viruses, populated by the ghost players and given objectives chosen from a list upon initiation.

Possible Antagonist Goals: Subvert station AI, Corrupt "X" Cyborgs, Destroy "X" Computer Consoles, etc.

How the virus completes it's goals: The virus would spread itself in whichever system it was in, and afford itself options based on how well spread it was.

INSIDE OF TERMINALS - The virus would have full access to that terminal as if logged in at Captain level or higher. Virus would be able to overload the occupied terminal, forcibly shunting itself to the next closest device, or simply move on after infecting. Easily detectable by an AI Virus scan.

INSIDE OF PDAs - The virus would have full access to the functions of the PDA, and be able to jump to any other devices within sight-distance. Also capable of overloading the PDA or even unlocking Syndicate options (albeit without any telecrystals, so it'd only be useful for framing crew). Undetectable.

INSIDE OF CYBORGs - The virus would (after infecting a certain degree of course) have full access to the host borg including the ability to alter laws/adjust programming, or even take control much like a Borer does with a human host. The virus could take control of ALL or even just some of the borg's functions, for example just commandeering the communication modules so they cannot be ratted out. A roboticist could scan for this virus, and the host could always be overloaded or discharged, shunting the virus to the nearest device.

INSIDE OF THE AI - Usually the virus' main goal, however due to the AI's protections, the virus would only be able to infect the AI by either being within 2 squares of it's Core Display, or by the lengthy and somewhat easily detected process of corrupting it's Upload computer, and uploading a custom ruleset disabling the AI's virus protection. Full access to AI functions once rooted, including the ability to control the AI outright, or share control.

Detecting/defeating the virus: This bugger would be easy to detect when it is within a terminal, and defeating it would require the isolation of the virus to a specific area, not allowing cyborgs or PDAs within it's range of transmission, and then either destroying the terminal, or cutting power to it entirely. Obviously a full station power outage would limit the virus to PDA infection, and tossing an infected PDA into space would neutralize the virus threat, unless it floated back to the station of course.

In short, I suggest an antag gamemode that gives the non-organics something to worry about. Well, and the poor meatbags who never know if their PDA might blow up in their pocket.
