    OOC: Dreadweaver: whistles quietly

OOC: Dreadweaver: Security must respect the privacy of crew members and no unauthorized searches are allowed. Searches of any kind may only be done with a signed warrant by the Head of Security or higher, or if found with visible contraband.

OOC: Dreadweaver: Weapons worn by security/headstaff are to be hidden, except in emergencies.

    OOC: ZaCyril: Who cares

    OOC: ZaCyril: c:

    OOC: Themodtester: kEK

    OOC: Dreadweaver: continues whistling

    OOC: ZaCyril: :c

OOC: Darkeraser: but in green alert they have the right to search anyone :P

    OOC: The Ultimate Chimera: Honk!

OOC: Fallinghero: if they search illegally how are you meant to respond?

OOC: LufgtHuron: TIL you can become semiinvisible by eating most parts of your body

OOC: Dreadweaver: I'd like to congratulate security for completely and UTTERLYdisregarding SOP in the last one hour

OOC: Sirhelgate: the issue is the current captain keeps lowering the security level when crimes are happening like theft and security being beaten in the open

    OOC: Dreadweaver: good job, guys.

OOC: Fallinghero: can we punch sec if they search illegally?

    OOC: WestHybrid: Not all security.

    OOC: Qinetix: Yes

    OOC: Fallinghero: Good to know.

OOC: Qinetix: But you will get arrested for assault

    OOC: Themodtester: Kek

OOC: Fallinghero: oh? What if the captain releases me immediately?

OOC: Dreadweaver: anyways, stop the ic in ooc now

OOC: Qinetix: Take that to the IAA

OOC: Themodtester: But but YOU STARTED IT.

OOC: WestHybrid: The ic in ooc you brought up?

The OOC brought up is right here.

  2. I don't see how removing the small handful of random genetic differences we have would make it so drastically different. It cut outs a lot of snowflaking, it fixes a lot of balance issues that are inherent with new species, and it opens up the doors to a lot more of possible new additions. It would barley touch RP levels other than small things like Tajara may not have claws, or at the very least they don't have their heat differences which are so minimal they're barely worth mentioning anyway.

  3. There's definitely a better way to handle it than just brig time. But as is, you can't technically punish it in like any way at all. Hell, arresting people for murder will still have them screaming at you IC and LOOC about how it's a bullshit arrest. You won't ever win on either side, but it would still be nice to have back.

  4. I try to play the good and nice cop a lot. But for the love of god are there times I wish I could arrest people again for spamming "B-B-BAKA" and all the times people get super lewd. Especially the times I see all of medbay hanging out in the bar when there are like 5 dead people in the lobby and someone walks out mid-surgery so they can chat with a friend.

I'm going to be the devil's advocate and say that the polls are a joke, even the admin only ones. It's never been a democracy and never will be. Even for the admins, only opinions are welcome and very minorly considered. It's a fairly rigged poll in the first placed given quite a few members of the team would be affected should it be expanded upon. You can't give an honest or genuinely fair result based on a closed poll from people that are directly biased against several of the results.

Don't pretend otherwise. Votes are a joke. Admin only votes even more so. This doesn't mean they can't be discussed and a fair result can't come to, but this is not the right way to do it if you ever want to pretend that you are remotely for what the users actually want.

  6. While I respect your point of them having "unique and interesting" RP, my issue did mostly lie with Bulma there. I just can't entirely respect the way Fox plays when it largely comes down to blowing things up as he sees fit or goofing off with important tasks. That's been my experience at least. I can name a lot of other people that do the same things they do. It's a personal problem I have with the way things are going. Their names only serve to inspire more ridiculous names which leads to those people, and others, acting ridiculous with them.

  7.

You can't honestly be using Fox and Bulma as roleplay standards. You must not see how they play if you are.

Bulma can derail an entire round and make comms literally retarded. It turns into borderline ERP and some nasty lewd jokes. I've quit some rounds just because I'm purely disgusted by what the round becomes, because they love the attention and bad jokes. Lot's of people all over the forums, ooc, and reddit have mentioned how they have a problem with what Bulma does. Don't ignore it for the sake of convenience. This isn't entirely a problem with the name itself, but it certainly doesn't help when you give them an already recognizable name that makes people notice. Maybe I just see entirely different complaints, but I have seen issues with them over ahelps, private chats, you name it.

Names are a really important thing. I've seen at least three variations of Starfox, several groots, several DBZ references, references to TV shows, all of it. Funnily enough, I see names of IC famous people totally ignored as well. Rule 9 isn't enforced in any form anymore if a number of people don't have an issue with it. I even noticed this back when I was an admin, I was just about the only one that ever cared to enforce it to any level for the sake of maintaining it.

The rule either needs to be looked over, enforced more heavily, or removed. God only knows it's mostly justification for an admin to remove a name they don't like at the moment.

  8.

It's been that way since literally day one.

Given you weren't there to any degree for a very long time, I have to call you out on that. There were some names that weren't just purely retarded that were messaged about. I actually respected people's want for light immersion and didn't want 50x starfoxes and Matt Damons running around. Names are much more ridiculous now than ever before, in my opinion.

  9.

I don't really know why there is really any freaking out over Sarin. It's not some god toxin. It's actually *really* tame compared to a lot of things. There's no point to nerfing it or hiding it if you aren't going to do the same to a lot of other chems. I can mix practically any 2 other chems and get WAY more potent of a reaction that sarin alone.

Things in general really shouldn't be hidden regardless. Either it shouldn't exist in any creatable form, or it should be on the wiki too.

Bombs are infinitely more destructive and easy to make but we allow guides on those.

  10.

It's essentially a buffed fireaxe, and nerfing it seems silly cause it needs to be this way, the only thing that works is ranges, it is the ultimate close combat tool, and i don't think that should change.

All you need is to throw a flash bang at them, or even just disable them with your taser. It's there for a reason, and ya wanna nerf it into uselessness.

Either remove it or keep it.

Why does it have to be a black and white remove or keep? That's an awful way to look at anything. Consider all the other options first.

I have an issue with it being, as you said, an ultimate close combat tool. It's an unwieldy and shitty chainsaw in an age of energy weapons and laser swords that may as well be able to cut through walls. I don't mind it being strong. I mind it being over the top with a collection of abilities that no other weapon can rival.

  11.

What about nurses that insist they don't know surgery even when they're the only med on board? Or sec officers that know surgery like a boss? Because I'm guilty of both, and I love it :3c

Well to be fair, medical doctors don't do surgery. That's what surgeons are for.

Then why do they have the access? Checkmate, Obama.

  12. May as well just make it a laser chainsaw if you want to avoid all these weird issues, but then...esword. It would just be a big unwieldy esword. My preferred changed would either be remove the knockdown and "maybe" increase the damage, make it a full 20tc, or have it break within 10-20 uses and need to be repaired with some metal and cable or something.

  13.

Alright, after watching it in action, this thing really needs to be looked at. It's utterly ridiculous.

High damage. Knockdown on hit. Blocks projectiles of all kinds.

It's a double-esword on steroids with no obvious downside.

Any small manner of changes could make this a lot better and a reasonable weapon.

    Lower damage.

    No knockdown.

    No blocking.

    Minor delay between hits.

Breaks and needs to be repaired after a handful of uses.

Any combination of minor changes can make this weapon a lot better and fair for its price instead of being an insta-win for melee combat. As is, you'd be essentially unstoppable by normal means if you get a taser combined with this thing and some kind of doorway.
