  1. There are a ton of interacting mechanics in this game with different effects which I don't feel have been fully explored. Specifically there are some non standard verbs that have been ignored. Like throwing, or changing your intent. The game as it is doesn't feel incomplete at all because it lacks some of these effects, but I feel they could add an extra dimension to some interactions. Psychotics Euphoria: you can't change your intent from helpful, messages about how good everything feels, possible hallucinations, possible collapsing to "feel how nice the floor is", possible forced speech about how great it is or how high you are, hugging everyone. Enraged: You can't change your intent from harmful, messages show up detailing how your face is feeling red or how angry you are, you occasionally yell, shake angrily, clench your fists, or throw items in your hands. Harmful effects Muscle relaxant: Slight difficulty speaking with letters being deleted from your text, unable to take any intent but grab and helpful, cannot run, possibility of falling over and collapsing, possibility of dropping items in your hands. At amounts over the overdose point or as a symptom of disease progression possible incontinence, paralysis, or potentially the inability to breath until the chemical concentration drops lower. Blood thinners: Wounds bleed more often, could be added as a disease symptom or a side effect added to some of the chems that are already available making them very slightly more situational. Organ specific damage: Right now most overdoses just give tox damage, I think it might be interesting if instead they damaged the kidneys, lungs, liver, or heart specifically. Sensitivity: Overdoses happen far more quickly, and even a small amount of alcohol will get you drunk. Probably something to be careful with implementing since there are some bad doctors in medbay. Blindness: Simple effect, but nothing seems to inflict it but massive eye damage and genetic mutation, blindness toxins or just heavy metal toxicity sounds like it could be interesting. Immunocompromised: all injuries have a high chance to get infected and there is a chance for spontaneous infection of the organs. (Possibly makes some viral effects less pronounced.)
  2. This already applies to surgeons who have shakes from e.g. high caffine dosage. Only makes sense to have to apply to the patient as well. Doesn't coffee contain hyperzine. I'm pretty sure that's what causes the twitching during surgery.
  3. That seems a little unnecessary since a quick shot of ryetalin will have you feeling fine.
  4. Maybe but I don't think it will play out that way, most surgeons now push to use anesthesia and it doesn't even do anything. Doctors do actually generally want to save their patients. As for cloning though, on most other servers I've seen clonex consumes plasma in its production, and the chem dispensers can't just be hacked. So cloning isn't even always an option unless mining is doing their job. Compared to other servers it's amazingly convenient to clone people, all you need to clone Vox really is a tank of N2 anyway which isn't even that much of a challenge, or if you want you can just load them up with a massive amount of dexalin plus after they pop out of the tube.
  5. You could always just buff the success rates for ghetto surgical tools to compensate for the new added source of failure.
  6. It's way too common for players to decide that they don't need or want to be knocked out for surgery, especially players where this is more difficult like the Vox. From a game play perspective there is no reason for them to want the anesthetic since it makes you completely vulnerable and doesn't in any way make the procedure go any more smoothly or do anything for you. I feel that to compensate the chance for surgery to fail should be increased massively for awake patients and that they should be spammed with messages indicating just how much pain they are in. As well kicking or flailing at the surgeon should probably be a possibility for players that can feel pain. Perhaps if you wanted to allow people who are awake to be operated on you could add lidocaine to the chem recipes, basically a numbing agent that can be injected into the extremities, eyes, and head so you can do more minor surgeries like bone repair, or surgeries on the brain or eyes which are done with nothing but a local anesthetic anyway.
