I don't really handle dogs well. The story, as far as I know, is that at some point when I was younger than I can distinctly remember I got bowled over by a large and very excitable one. I can't personally verify that, but I do know that when most people hear that I'm afraid of dogs they either look at me strangely or tell me to put up with it. Doesn't really help matters that several family members also have large and easily excitable canines.

Yes, I play a Vulpkanin. Moreso as a fox. ...I'm not a hypocrite!

Big dogs scare the crap out of me.

  2. I'm a cusper between generations, being 21 years old. I'm connected deeply with my younger friends through social media, specifically Instagram and SnapChat.

I often find that online content really does cater to a quick small meta joke, between all forms of content. From instaposts, old vines, tiktok, and YLYL compilations, we bond over the quick short stuff. It feels almost like an inside joke, and meta can only help that. I don't know, it's harder and harder to consume longer media and content for me. I suppose it really takes time to get into anything beyond the surface level with online content and physical media. This makes those quick meta moments so much more powerful than classic media, but without the foundation I build with consuming the classic media I wouldn't feel the inspiration I do daily to move forward. That's where the cusper feeling comes in, those foundations I have in a day before easy access information.

The question here is who else is a cusper? What motivates you to inspire and create new things? Would you be a different person if you didn't have the exposure to 80s era media like TV and physical print?

Sorry it took me a while to get there, but the meta memes and compilations just take away my attention span from long format media.

Adding on to the fear of mind reading. I have a fear that people around me are making fun of me for no real reason; mostly if I see them staring at me while smiling like the best fucking joke ever just got told '-'.

Whenever I see people looking and laughing in my direction I assume there must be a clown that I just missed. I look around, no clown or funny jokes, and realize I left home in my clown costume.

Really though, it is a bad feeling to think strangers are judging you for the way you look.

Roaches. Aka Kidan. I absolutely fear and despise roaches. Aside from carrying a multitude of diseases and being absolutely disgusting, its extremely hard to wipe a nest out from a house and they breed rapidly. They also enjoy crawling into ears. They should be purged in flame, also like kidan.

    Spiders are chill though.

Another site location at my job has so many roaches. Think they’re gone and just they decided to move into a different filing cabinet.

worst part is that site is constantly losing paperwork because they say “f*** this filing room it has roaches burn everything.” but they never succeed.

Roaches give me a more burning rage feeling that fear or disgust.

  5. Obviously tech disks and other science can be sold at crazy value. The other department which has the greatest value would be botany.

On our grand communist station I’d be interested to see more departments and roles capable of generating income for the station.

Cargo can trade and sell, but absolutely needs help from science.

Science needs telescience to grab them a lot of rarer components or find them themselves and deconstruct half the station /s.

Botany is rather self sufficient, and really only needs mutagen to function.

How would you like to see the stations departments grow in terms of this aspect of th the game?

  6. I support saving your credits for 10 rounds then turning science into a golden masterpiece of inter species achievement.

I do not support pimping out genetics for quick bucks tho, money and economy should /try/ to be within standards. I really like black market players though and think they have a lot to add to this equation.

    Feel free too

    Sure!

I’ll start with round details and cult activity. The cult had been discovered early around when the geneticist first began distributing powers. They had been discovered as being involved with stealing powers by the very active AI.

A cult member was caught and exposed further infiltration into the TK users. As well cult members were discovered using holy water on those who were brigged already. This includes a TK user has reported before, who had stolen the powers alongside our TK explorers. Now after this we asked TK users to come forward to have powers remove and holy water applied. They resisted this, creating their own movement on station.

Now the advantages, which are numerous. The TK users among the explorers and the cult have different advantages here. I’ll start with the cult.

Cult members facilitated the theft of the powers after the geneticist was removed. The cultist was able to blend in as if he were a regular crew member here. Further his use of TK made him incredibly difficult to apprehend, using roller beds and wheelchairs to escape. The TK allowed quick escape into maint, ability to create roadblocks, and fill the path between himself and sec with obstacles. As well, we saw flash bangs flying away from us during pursuit.

The crew had incredible advantages here, a few listed prior. The ability to escape from Sec or any danger being a repeat. Crew being able to communicate and isolate themselves so easily they grew into a full riot. Multiple department access and easy escape due to incredible TK speeds made them unstoppable. You could argue they self antagged by providing the powers to cultists in their joke but I’m not here for that.

The large advantage cult gained was the ability to escape without using their powers. It wasn’t the idea it was game breaking, but without direction sec was in trouble with stopping the cult from gaining this advantage over them.

So what if the cult has TK

Sounds like more a priorities issue to me. It's not like TK is giving some massive game breaking advantage to cultists.

I again have to question here our different experiences of the round. Maybe I wasn’t being clear enough in my description of the crew problems.

If you’d like I can explain further the details of the TK use and its advantages.

Not a single one of the people in space with TK was a cultist

Not sure what your problem with them was. They were flying through space on roller beds. Literally the only reason they said anything about it on comms was because sec was trying to take everyones TK and they wanted to taunt sec because they knew they wouldn't be able to stop them on roller beds in space.

Also the geneticist was fired. But then they made a genetics thing maint and started handing out TK from black market genetics.

There were cult TK users we gave holy water to. Your experience must differ than my own with the presence of TK users in that round. I don’t doubt you feel and saw it that way, but I’m trying to explain my experience.

Non-command staff can only be given powers if the RD approves of it in advance.

The RD / CMO reserve the right to forcibly revoke powers from people if they're abused.

I would consider 'obtained powers without permission' to qualify as abuse. They're not supposed to have them, period.

Thus, my assumption is that RD / CMO can forcibly strip powers from any non-command person who got them without specific permission from the RD.

This is in addition to RD / CMO being able to have the geneticist fired for distributing them without authorization.

It is also in addition to the fired geneticist being charged with creation of a workplace hazard. I don't think a specific crime for this event is needed, since 'workplace hazard' plus demotion covers it.

Demotion is more severe than any temp brig sentence anyway, as it costs the person their  department radio, access, etc for the rest of the shift.

I sort of rage posted after having such a poor experience in a round. Let me further explain.

The shift starts off tough for security and other departments, having no heads almost 10 minutes into the round except the HoP. Our warden takes up acting HoS, and we can eventually get a Cap and RD.

A few complaints go by, some grey tides start. The random grey shirts are stealing, making drugs, but otherwise it’s harmless crew behavior. Their arrests go by when suddenly the geneticist is apparently given out 10 TK powers. They’re on roller beds, doing meth, wheel chairs and the like. I ask the newly arrived HoS and command if we can process these power abusers as workplace hazards and demote any with a job. Silence.

A serious cult threat arises alongside an ever growing greytide. HoP is locked up in his office and there’s only two Sec officers to deal with about 10 TK powered people who may or may not be cult. A handful are cult, and the rest are wannabe space explorers. The cultists are incredibly active, and the tide is assisting in them greatly. The TK explorers they call themselves are now creating a base off station.

Sec had 4 actives, the HoS (brand new player btw) the warden and two officers including myself. Facing about 5 grey tiders who were constantly into anything they could steal, and TK cultists and their explorer friends, I think I almost had an aneurysm.

The problem came down to RD and CMO were delegating their problem to the two active Sec. While many enjoy the chaotic multi faceted antagonists that come on station I can tell you that wasn’t fun. I felt gagged by the TK users, pressure from the cult activity, and just frustrated with the Tiders. Asking command that round to give us high sec priority led to nothing.

I feel like possession of an illegal ability should warrant a separate charge in space law. It could be minor but it would give cause to stop these issues. I feel even in lore it makes sense when basically a riot has happened and powers were STOLEN from our science. In lore our geneticist is on station to push new boundaries of the genome. Why would NT allow that knowledge to leak out after it is discovered?
