The main issue with vox raiders was, iirc, that every vox on station begins self-antagging and it's basically rev but all the revs are thieving space birds, and I'm not sure how you'd rework it to remove that.

I dono, i feel that's just how Vox ARE, and you can't rework that without destroying their entire background. I wouldn't call it "Self-Antagging" as that is such a broad term it can be applied as a cudgel to stop something someone may not like. People should not be punished on server for following their races background and lore, because that lore was written and approved by the server itself.

If a vox raiding party boarded, and followed to inviolate, more or less every vox in some way if asked, would pitch in assistance where they could, an unlocked door here, some medical supplies there, a key "accidentally" dropped, a long boring talk with the HoS by the detective to keep him busy, etc etc.

That's how Vox are, they are VERY agreeable to assisting fellow Vox so long as it's not going to violate their Inviolate and that the vox in question has not either. Doesnt matter what Ark they hail from, what ship, what criminal past as the laws broken, are not THEIR laws.

I got to interact with a small raider group once, and this happened, they weren't hurting people, they followed the inviolate, so what happened? Me, the Medical Vox helped them out, and the security vox? Did the same where he could, and in the end me and the sec vox joined their merry crew and escaped on a "borrowed" Sol trader shuttle that was once filled with xenos.

In the end: Has the raider group seriously harmed/killed any kin or more than a few non-kin? Have they followed the inviolate? If No and Yes, then guarantee vox kin assistance of some kind, some where, If Yes and No, expect SERIOUS Vox kin RESISTANCE in every conceivable way.

You can expect some help if you follow the Inviolate.

You can GUARANTEE mass resistance if you don't.

    Such are the vox.

  2. I like, ever since i found out that it was not in rotation and all those lovely vox items never get used i've wanted it to be brought back in some form.

The big Nitro tank feels like it may be a holdover from times when vox did not have the smaller tanks and the whole ship feels like it could use a rework to bring it up to speed.

mmmmmmmmmmm, my skipjack trade shack may one day become an actual skipjack heh

Bad Vox Spider! No! You steal the Head of securities lamp! You don't eat it!

    (2 minutes later)

BAD VOX SPIDER! YOU DON'T EAT THE HEAD OF SECURITY! YOU STEAL HIS STUFF! STOP EATING PEOPLE VOX SPIDER!

That thing was a beast, it broke out of the HoS's office and went on a rampage on the bridge.

My head canon for Uriel is that he has a terrible combover under that beret, as when he's not wearing a hat of some kind, and just has his headset on, it REALLLLLLY looks like a really bad midlife crisis dad combover. Got the pleasure of talking to him for an extended period and the moment i noticed it....what was seen, cannot be unseen....

  5. I like the idea that welding vents will have a noticable atmos effect.

Right now your more or less better off pre-welding vents at the start of any shift to prevent creepy crawlies from getting in.

I dont play atmos so i dont really know how it all works, but i do like this idea, couldmake hull breaches more deadly as a result to,faster venting of gasses/faster consumption of gasses, and if the vents are welded people run out after awhile.

I'd like players to be able to do that for their own bans for sure. Not for other peoples however, as this I believe would lead to people being treated poorly. Warnings here really aren't anywhere near as "official" as Steam or the like, they very in severity heavily. It could be a "hey could you tone that down" to "seriously do not ever do that ever again".

I can concede that perhaps allowing people to view everyone's record could potentially become an issue for some.

That being said, players being able to see their own notes/records would go a long way in helping them remember past actions.

One really bad thing about not being able to look back at your own record is that say you are given a warning for "X" reason, you learn from it, but 6 months later you do it again, having forgotten the warning you we're given due to life issues or what not and are hit up by staff again, they see the note and punish accordingly.

From experience in administration on other servers and games, it's not that they maliciously have gone against the warning issued and noted, it's simply that they forgot with time, and in Paradise's case, have no way to easily remind themselves short of asking a member of staff, whom many appear to not be universal in their willingness to provide a player's own notes when requested.

I don't think I'm quite understanding this fully, so people want basic/situational notes that aren't sensitive, but basically that just means the notes from every time an admin has spoken to and given people a warning? I always thought it was pretty clear that when we have to talk to people it's noted, and not to repeat that behavior. What exactly would be the point of having that information? Sorry if I've missed it if it's already been stated

Personally I don't need to see the inner workings of the team, I don't need to see every single thing said. I don't need to know all the dark secrets.

For people such as myself with memory issues, being able to take a quick peak at any notes that I may have keeps me from forgetting something I may have done or almost done.

In my experience more open systems like this work wonders. The systems i've personally worked with in the past allowed players to see Bans, Blacklists and warnings, and their time of issuing, when they expire and the reason they we're issued, a players ID and the Id of the punishment itself ontop of who issued it., and it was all public information accessible by a tab, from this tab you could check the record of any player at any time even if you we're just curious or genuinely wanted to refresh your own memory.

It all allowed people to be kept in the loop, and allow community oversight, without the need to show the internal workings.

  8. I've only got the capture the AI objective once, and while I did pull it off, I do have to admit it was the least fun of all the objectives i have got (Minus the inital rush of a plan coming together)

Getting it was fairly easy, though i got pretty lucky that my plan worked: Cut 2 layers deep into far rear of AI sat, plant Syndicate Bomb, wait for explosion to GUT the entire AI cores zone including all its turrets, run up and card, fly out.  Then by fluke ended up drifting through space for an hour and a half talking with the AI as we tried to find our way back.

Overall the concept of "You completed your objective, but now you cant do anything for 1 and a half hours lest you be caught and more or less no amount of being sneaky will prevent this" isn't really appealing to me and in the future I may Ahelp a change in objective if i do get it again.

Side Note: If the AI is stuffed into a storage implant, can they still alert people to your location or talk?

If not, that REALLY is a terrible thing to do to a player, an AI in that situation may as well just Ahelp and request a respawn because they are done for that round.

  9. Perhaps one thing that could be added to them:

If the chassis chosen is an animal capable of it, the ability to crawl through vents.

Never understood why a maint drone styled PAI couldnt crawl into the vents, imagine a Syndicate operative with a PAI, they send it ahead to scout, locate patrols, units etc.
