Yes the item is called strange seeds. Basically they are plant seeds that have a chance to have some truly unique reagents or abilities in them

Different note though, how are you planning on making them a BIT more defensive? Right now the only thing between the trader and an all-access crew is a table

Goon does a great job with their objectives. One thing I hate more then anything when I troll these forums is that regulars comment that the SOP of a role/job is good enough and that nothing ever should ever be ever done to change that ever. I feel like they play in am insular bubble

I'm happy for you to not experience these things, but like others are commenting here, it happens. It goes with a player complaint I made not too long ago. At some point, what someone is allowed to know has to have some limit

If we wanted proper "stealth" items, then mechanically restricting it is the best idea.
I dunno man the way you say it sounds like an excuse for valid hunting. Maybe if tatorgear was ID locked and could only be found out if it was ran through a destructive analyser it would be a different story. But right now a sec officer randomly stripping crew and activating every item looking for "stealth" gear doesn't make it "stealth" gear

I mean, I started playing ss13 at the beginning of 2017, so I can understand that maybe I don't have enough experience to stand on my point. But from my own personal experience, I have very rarely seen an antag if caught come out alive on the escape shuttle or rotting in perma. Again, you can SAY that that shouldn't be the case, but in practice it just doesn't hold up.

I don't agree with all of paradise's rules but they serve a purpose and they send a clear signal from the staff to the community on how behavior, rp and gameplay is acceptable. Antags are still people on paradise, only the most violent and dangerous antags are killed while those that can be safely contained and transported back to CC for debriefing are captured and kept alive because ICly they are more valuable to NT if the info they possess can be extracted. Giving sec/crew the right to kill any outed antag is only going to increase valid hunting behavior while making RP drop in quality and frequencyI mean, while I agree with this not turning into tg, what you say about antags is simply not true. It is EXTREMELY rare for a caught antag to not be executed, and if you're argument is that "It's a POSSIBILITY they won't be killed" then that is pretty weak

Why is the E.X.P.E.R.I.M.E.N.T.O.R. something that no one is talking about? It's like half put together, the wiki on it can be best described as "unhelpful", and you don't really get anything out of it

I absolutely agree with @Shadeykins on this. I've been doing the beyond tutorials for a few months now, and while I am be no means a pro I still want to learn. Having some sort of mentor thingy going for potential coders would be awesome. There's also the patreon munnies that can be used if the bugs are so bad that para could freelance

So you mean if I grow the strange plant, that it's seeds will have randomized traits, not just the one the original plant had?

Thank you. By the way, I wasn't really sure if this was the right forum for this, as the wording for player complaint makes it sound like its typically for admin light rounds and are not ahelped. This really isn't a complaint against you so much, I understand it was busy, I just wanted it to be re-looked at. Nor do I want Ley banned if they were a new player, more a talking to on why they probs shouldn't pull shit like this

Complaint: Time: 4:10 AM GMT Date: 4/15/2018 I tried to think of a title that didn't sound dismissive or snarky, so hopefully no one takes it that way. Before I start this I want to say that I get in a round alot of crap is going on and most likely some stuff might be looked back and reviewed, so if that is the case with this then you can go ahead and close this. If not, then yeah I would like to talk about it. Some back story, I started the round as a Civilian and asked to be promoted to Botanist. I passed by botany grabbing the needed supplies and noticed alot of dead plants, but figured something may hae happened. Before I returned with Mutagen and Saltpetre, I was stopped by an IAA agent to tell me that Botany was doing a horrible job and needed to not talk shit to the chef whe nhe wants us to do our job. This leads me to going into botany to see no plans growing, no botanists, and the blender gone. Great. Well I go to the bartender to ask for his, since when the hell do they use it, when lo and behold there it is in the bar being used by some random atmos tech named Ley Kanita. So I grab the thing and another Botanist Sindy Lambadi tells me "no it has to stay there" and Ley just starts stabbing me with a kitchen knife (I can't say how many times, but I start bleeding). I drag it back to botany and ask for sec to show up, which they don't. While I'm walking to the medbay, C.A.S., an IAA, walks by. I explain everything that happened to him while he drags me to the medbay, and he just leaves. Cool. I get healed and walk back to the bar and the damn blender is there AGAIN. So I take it again to use it for my friggen jog, and Sindy and Ley show up again. Ley just starts stabbing me and I have finally had it with this dude. I whip out my hatchet and just screw him up, but I get it pretty bad too with broken ribs. One thing I want to add is at no point did Ley ever interact with me other then attacking me. No dialogue no nothing. So yeah I get arrested and taken to the brig. Here is where I ahelp. I don't have logs but it was essentially "can someone have a talk with Ley". I wait in processing passing out from blood loss and O2 loss when I finally ahelp again about how no one has charged me or talked me and has essentially left me to die and Dumbdumn5 tells me "its an IC issue", fair enough. But I follow it up with a "so what happened with Ley". I am told that Ley hit me 2 times with a knife before I started hacking back, so it was acceptable escalation, and this is here I have an issue. Like come on man, this guy was just straight up fuckin around and griefing. This is long winded enough, so my complaint is essentially that I would like a little bit more investigation into these things. I get it's busy, its highpop, but maybe say something more like "we'll look into it later" not "meh".
Edit:Shit, I didn't mean to enter this tonight, I cryoed and wrote this. If the round is still going on then get rid of this.

So I am starting to get into the botany role more, since it seems like one of the strangest basic roles.
I think it's super cool but yeah I had some questions.
-can you make chems that require the heater in a plant?
-how on earth do bees work? I tried to have bees in two different rounds, and it just sat there not doing anything. wrenched down, queen bees is inside, honey combs are in, plants are growing around it. Everything. Are they broken right now?
-wiki mentions fish water is a good fertilizer, is there a rating system for fertilizer?
-how exactly does kudzu work?

Played a round last night where the CMO ordered us as doctors to simply clone anyone who was dead regardless of damage/time. People were simply beating themselves to death rather than wait for chems. Again, cloning becomes the only thing anyone who plays this with a strict "gamer" mindset will choose. Also I'm not sure why Fox felt the need to point out that the cryotubes healing with nothing makes no sense, when he believes that auto cloning makes sense because magic exists.
