What exactly is stopping anyone from locating a tank like the old one and getting it filled and then ditching the new one?

I cant really comment on the leap since it was something i never really used anyways and I do think most of my enjoyment from Vox isn't from things like magclaws, leaping or tanks. I really just liked them because they're bird-like and are something a little different, even if it's not a bunch of fancy complicated game mechanics there's still a whole lot of behavioral things that come along with Vox to make them enjoyable (or frustrating to deal with).

I've always been one for having lots of customization options. It's a nice way to make a character more recognizable and it just adds a little something extra. I just don't really understand why this choice was made. There is a whole lot of clothing that isn't exactly a 'costume' that is in the Autodrobe and it's a shame to lose out on that stuff.

One of my characters is a civilian. She exists purely for when I don't feel like doing a job and I just kinda want to hang out but the first thing I used to do was go to get her a cute outfit. She looks pretty bad in a grey jumpsuit and with the current set up she cant possibly get to the Autodrobe because of the maintenance access required and even if she manages to get that access there is no guarantee that she'll be able to use that vendor if no one has set that room up.

Is it possible to have a new vendor added with the non-costume items back into the dorms? Maybe even a vendor that costs credits to get clothing from? I really would like to see some of the other clothing that is in the files to be obtainable in game too. There are a whole lot of really cute outfits/dresses that aren't used as far as I can tell.

It would be interesting to have a game mode where each department has to contribute to a project. Maybe one where another station needs emergency supplies sent over and each department has to contribute items created by their department and have them sent to cargo who has to ship them to the imaginary station that required them. I'm pretty sure most departments could make things to send and the required items and their quantities could be randomized.

I think that perhaps having individual player objectives could probably help with this too. Currently Science is the only one with their research objective but it would be pretty awesome if every job had a number of different objectives assigned at the start of the round that the player could try and finish if they wanted to. But the way the currency/pay system is on here makes doing those things feel a little pointless since there is no real benefit other than giving players a sense of accomplishment. I suppose it would still give people something to "do" during a long or quiet round.

I was always under the impression that Antags were generally supposed to just finish their objectives and if they wanted to do something more that may result in other players deaths/potential destruction that they were expected to adminhelp it to get permission?

I'm a little bit confused by your suggestion and examples since they seem to be conflicting statements. You're saying that traitors should not be able to mass bomb or do super evil things that are not objective related but you are saying they should be able to do things that affect people around them even if it isn't objective related?

It's not generally fun for innocent bystanders to be taken out of the game in a way that doesn't let them fight back or enjoy the situation. If they get taken out too quickly into the round then it isn't really fun for anyone except the Antag and I always thought the point of playing an Antag was to try and make it fun for the rest of the players first and yourself last? Maybe I just misunderstood the point of the role.

    -snip-

    :P

    That looks too high resolution.

I really don't mind getting feedback on my sprites. Particularly since I'm not used to making sprites for ss13 and I've found it difficult to adapt to spriting for something that has a pretty inconsistent art style with less detail than I'm personally used to. I would really appreciate it if you could elaborate on what you mean? Do you have any suggestions on what to change and improve?

Virologist tip: NEVER, under any circumstances, inject human patients with Radium, it causes at least 70-80 toxin damage, and couple that with the viruses that give damage, that will near-definitely kill the patient. Those monkey cubes aren't for eating/decoration, they're your ability to cure this mess.

I'd have to disagree with this. I'd probably alter it to "Only try to use radium to form antibodies in a patient if the virus is known to be fatal, as you won't have enough time to use the safer way with monkeys"

Even better: "At the start of your shift, make sure you grab an antitoxin medikit, the antitoxin pills in there (30u) are real life-savers when you are trying to inject a humanoid patient with radium to save their life."

It would actually be really nice if the Virology section of the wiki was re-written. The current guide on the wiki is a confusing mess of information that really doesn't tell a new virologist what they should be doing. The guide doesn't even mention monkies at all, so it'd be really awesome if some of the experienced virologist players considered writing a new guide that details what a new virologist should be doing to work efficiently at their job.

I've noticed a disproportional amount of complaints for foxpmccloud compared to any other paradise admin, and probably for good reason.

My friend was telling me the other day how Fox was the CMO, and kept flashing him (my friend, let's refer to him as dudebro) for what he did in a previous round ("specism"). After the 3rd or so flash, dudebro grabbed a circular saw and warned the CMO to stop flashing him. Of course, the CMO flashed him again, lost an arm and BWOINK. Then fox respawned himself as a Navy Commander. And of course, after the round ended, Fox said "wow the grief is real" in OOC.

So yeah, that's fox for you.

If this is the round/situation I think it was then this friend of yours had unauthorized chemistry/medical access that was not cleared by the CMO. This person was asked repeatedly to leave and I believe security was involved at one point as well. They continued to return and did get flashed and dragged out of medbay multiple times. They were told to stay out and refused to listen to reason.

If a player chooses to be racist/whatever then they need to accept the very real IC consequences of people not tolerating them either. It's also worth pointing out that even if this isn't the same situation and your friend did nothing to warrant getting flashed they could always just have left the area and been done with it instead of continuing and choosing to escalate the situation into one that could very well violate the rules.

    OOOOOH BOY

    I just like animating.

I don't generally even care what it is. Pixels are just fun and it's nice to contribute.

    Decorative Plants: Just decorative plants!

    Teas: Various types of tea.

Pill Counter Tray: Essentially an item similar to the Plant Bag. Can only pick up pills and bottles and then can load them into the Medical Fridge.

If you attach the .dmi files of those sprites, they can be easily put directly in game by admins.

    The sprites are really great.

Just updated the first post to have a FosSprites.rar containing all the .dmi files i've made thusfar. :D

That werewolf looks amazing! I think a good Halloween event would be Werewolves vs. Vampires. Plus some hunters! Keep everyone on edge.

I..may have started making an animated cape with Dracula in mind. I actually really think making a bunch of costumes and halloween decorations would be pretty fun too.

  12.

Werewolves! Halloween Event?! I hope so.

Halloween is like the best holiday ever.

These use the normal human male body for the base. The legs had a few pixels removed to give the digitigrade shape that one would expect from a werewolf. The shoulders got fluffier, a tail was added and the head is the most modified part though I tried to keep the original shape intact. Should be able to hold items and wear some stuff potentially (but why would a werewolf want to?!).

That was me suggesting the ferret, it looks awesome! Bit weird though, looks green unless you get the single pic in a new tab.

The green is because of the format i saved the .gifs in. I forgot to change the settings so it reduced the colors to make it "websafe"

  14. This is a really interesting idea. I think part of the problem currently is there isn't a official list of sprites that are missing or need updating. I would love to poke around and fix up sprites but I don't want to waste my time doing art if it isn't actually needed or going to be added. Perhaps getting some feedback from the people who can actually implement sprites would be useful as well.

  15. I had used the 2x2 Xeno sprite size for the normal Raptor sprites but they seemed too small for a t-rex (there is just too much tail and such!). Are bigger sprites for mobs alright or should it be avoided? Can they get scaled up nicely or does the quality suffer too much?

  16.

the dino sprites are rly good but idunno i think theyd look weird with ss13s shitty graphics

I suppose that's true! I could probably reduce the number of colors i used to shade them but I'm never sure how simple to make things or how complicated to get. I just like pixel art, this was mostly for fun! ^-^

About how many shades are used in typical SS13 items? I ask because there is a huge variety of styles involved due to the sheer amount of contributions so it's difficult to just peak at the existing sprites and get a good idea of the quality people want.
