Jaakko grew up in an apartment with his mother. His father was a debris hauler who was employed in a small Sol-based corporation to clean the space around planetes, so as to prevent half-cent bolts, derelict satellites, and other refuse from destroying million-dollar spacecraft. Home life was relatively quiet. Jaakko did not experience space flight until he was 18, when he was sent to Mars for college. He received a degree in engineering, and was hired by Nanotrasen at 22. Due to his inexperience in zero-G enviorments, Jaakko failed his EVA certification numerous times before finally succeeding with the required articulate skill in maneuver. Jaakko's first assignment was as an Atmospheric Technician aboard NSS Aurora, before being transferred to NSS Pheonix. Around the time of the transfer, Jaakko gained certification as a Station engineer. A few months ago, year 2559, Jaakko was reassigned to, and served aboard NSS Cyberiad. After transferring, Jaakko began taking up the role of CE, and received a transfer to Secuirty Department. Due to the low labor pool NT can draw on, Jaakko can often be seen working for either department while on-shift. Ironically, Jaakko had trouble meeting NT's Sec Department ROBUST standards for CQC courses. Jaakko is rather intelligent, and has a plethora of useless or useful facts at his disposal. Personality wise, he is introverted. Psych testing puts him into the ISTP category of personalities. Jaakko's attitude can range from crude humor and facetious, to guitar playing, to stern. In command positions, IAA and Psych have identified him as a level-headed individual. He treats subordinates closer to equals, rather than as his underlings. Language he uses occasionally may be taken as condescending, but he means well, and responds to higher orders, and rigidly follows SoP. In a panic, or when overloaded, Jaakko gets tunnel vision and can only focus on one big issue. The more panicked he becomes, the more forceful he becomes in his orders. Failure to follow through, or lavish displays of ignorance will quickly cause him to get mad. Hello all! I am a semi-regular player on Cyberiad, having switched over months ago from Baycode Unbound Travels and earlier Aurora Station. I play as Jaakko Kirves, upstanding station crewmember, frequently in Security, more often than not as Judge Dredd Warden, or in Engineering. I'm delving in to the Head roles more now, though I've only been interested in Greytide Incident Commander HoS, and CE. I've also tried my hand at a facetious, high-functioning alcoholic Captain.
