I'm fine with any names, as long as I can goof them for having those.
I would never take orders from person named Gandalf Gray or Bilbo Baggins, even if they are Captain or HoS.
It reflects real life as much as it is possible. Noone forbids people from naming their kids with goofy names, but they would have real issue growing up and socializing.
As long as game rules allow me to laugh my ass off any such name - I'm for it

but... but... tazers have disable mode? Maybe actually make tazers (and rubber bullets) work like they should?
Maybe rigs should receive 1.5x damage from disablers? (they disable internal computer of rig)

I'm not saying we shouldn't put any code from TG.
I'm saying that porting whole new blocks (like botany overhaul) can be bad for RP we are trying to achieve.
Botany can do so much now, with all the "injection" and "squishing" effects, that it makes me question if this is what this server needs. Purely my opinion.
Maybe I said it in a way too rude way. I'm sorry if that is the case.

Well, rev is all about assuming control of the station. I don't see how stray head in space with suit that doesn't want to get back into station will stop that from happening. Revs clearly won. Maybe just require revs to hold control over bridge for 5-10 minutes? That might make some rounds fun even if heads are still alive. Imagine barricading inside the bridge and holding the onslaught of redshirts led by a Captain, just because clown got all access and he was able to let in all of the revs into bridge while heads were attending an execution.

we were talking about naming rules before, and agreed best solution was to limit names to ones without IRL fame.
At the same point you can name your character "Farrokh Bulsara" and I doubt many will recognize who it actually is
Best idea is to mock such characters ICly, either making rp level higher, or bringing soulcrushing meme-misery on their minds

@Neca, I think he means that you can't name your character as any (well known and popular) character of the book/game/movie
But to be honest, if you look at real life, there are some Khalisie's and Dovakhins (just fucking google it, it is awesomely hilarious), and while we see 1-2 Adolf's Hitler's they are born to a depressing set of parents.
IMO, and I will from now on do that, come to any character that has such a name, and start laughing at them. Yes, NT is an equal opportunity employer, but nothing forbids you from laughing your (and your coworker's) ass off by the hilarity of that name... LIKE YOU MIGHT DO IRL
AND THEN IT GOES BACK TO MEDIUM RP =)

I don't see how it makes things less hugboxxy. IMO people can call paradise a Hugbox because we limit antags (not that this is bad)

dunno, OOC is sometimes fun, and you can always mute it for yourself...
Maybe just allow admins to mute their OOC for such actions (I know admins can do that, but just update the guidelines)

ACTUALLY, additional stuff to consider
1) Allow constructing of airlock cycle rooms (with airlock controls and sensors that you connect via multitool)
2) in other words - everything built by the start of the game should be rebuildable
But this is more for engineering, even thou airlock is related to atmo more

Right now my biggest problems with atmospherics is that:
1) I can't set up TEG in enough time with all atmos malfunctions and waiting time on piping
2) the atmos is PERFECTLY in the middle of "it is nice and compact" and "it is spaceous and allowing" that the room itself is a mix of "stuff already done" and "not enough space to do fun stuff"
So ideas:
1) Add an additional space loop near turbine. Maybe create another room near it (or use biowaste disposal - room near turbine) that only engineering+atmos has access to. That is for TEG and other heat/cold stuff
2) make single pipe for disposal loop to filter loop. Less stuff there. Let AtmoTech do all the stuff - give few boxes with all the heater/cooler items and a second pipe dispensers IN the atmo room

In my opinion, for khaptain to be actually interesting role, you need interesting interactions with central command (less required than with NT rep, but still)
I never understood why Tully said that fax goes to "an equivalent of president of USA" if you fax CC, even thou there is a NCS Trurl. All CC answers are from there per backstory and not from NT HQ.
So maybe allow more interactions with Adminteam if admins and captain are both willing. As an alternative (if admins are really busy and want "old" fax system) we can add a toggle on admin panel to not notify about any faxes unless they have word "URGENT" in bold somewhere.
Maybe add (as was partially suggested in post about engineers) a console for captain to control either NSS Cyberiad or ships around it. Move the cargo station closer to reduce time on cargo but add time on other stuff. Just let captain actually control the station and not just be a local CO.
Also: Kero, in my suggestion about engineering, you cannot order new PA's

This is all really gray. Half year before all this, when CMD was sorta enforced, I was leaving people in places where they can be picked up. Even moving then to public areas. Hell... sometimes I even move them to cloning myself.

I have 1 quick request for now.
Make 5-15% chance that there is no PA this round and you cannot order new ones. Tell that we lost contract with company that makes them, announce that on round start (1-2 minutes after). That will create rounds that are fun for engineers (at least at the start, when they struggle to choose the engine that doesn't need the PA) and it shouldn't be everytime.

Make levels of tech be actual science. This can be achieved in two VERY complicated steps
1) all items on decon return lower science levels than needed to create in the first place
2) make research also based on stuff. Tachyon detector got explosion 3? give em weapons 3 (or 2 or 4, whatever). Sci-Chemist just made SR? Well if he puts it in this device (insert devicename here), you get biology 3 (or 2 or 4, you get the point). You were able to create energy pulse of power 600kW (by smes, or load of PACMANs)? Use in with this device and get power level 3 (do I have to repeat that numbers are optional?=) ). Heck... the cargo can have Hadron Collider package that will allow you to get dank levels in power and other stuff.
Make research ACTUALLY research. Allow them to take stuff from botany or get help from engineering. Make some stuff complicated and other stuff easy but requiring help from other divisions.
You may say, that this will make science even more memefest than it is, and you might be right. BUT that can be trimmed, and right now it is already just remembering a list of stuffs, and if you don't know the list, you will be yelled at.

Khem... in my idea about second station (yes, I won't get over it yet), I had an idea, that Cyberiad's Cargo tech should also trasport goods to second station.
So maybe in our current version, allow cargo to be not only the point of cargo package receival, but also a stop point. Have multiple shuttles come and go below cargo (so they don't interfere with main shuttle from CC), add a bunch of destinations, and then have them delivered to cyberiad.
This way players (CT and QM) have three options. Either they deliver it to correct place and get some bonus points in cargo. Or they open it/fail to deliver and get points subtracted from them (1-2 times the original cost of package). Third option is to deliver it incorrectly, or in wrong state (unlocked, unwrapped (they all will be wrapped by default). This will give lesser penalty.
Obviously there will be many parameters that can be set - rarity of facemelting stuff to be delivered (and no syndicate bundles), amount of stuff per cargo ship, timers till delivery, etc etc.
Maybe add events where mysterious package arrives containing sick l00t, moneys or even really murdery animals (hell, the EXPERIMENTOR delivers this already). Or mysterious documents from syndicate, uncovering the name of one of the antagonists in the round. Obviously with a small bomb in that paper that will detonate on reading in 5 seconds (so others have to beleive you)
*EDIT: Items are delivered on the CC shuttle, so if you don't call it (if the cargo is unmanned or busy), points won't get subtracted

SoP says HoS can give written permits for weapon carry, @Habalabam. That is what OP talking about.
