  1. The only time I have ever stunned first is when the perp is literally on the run from the crime scene as soon as I see them and they generally don't slow down for me. In this case it's easy to chase them and see if they are avoiding you during which I can't type all that much as they may escape. But I never stun a stationary person, I always say that they are under arrest and if there is no reason on record (someone set to arrest without further notes) I'll ask them to politely come back with me to the brig where we can sort it out and decide whether to place the sentence or release them for lack of evidence of any wrongdoing. Sometimes the arresting officer doesn't know what you did, that doesn't mean he can't bring you to the brig. HE CAN. I will never let the shitcurity of others stop me from making legit arrests so if they didn't post a reason and wont respond on the radio, that aint MY fault and I aint letting you go free. I never use excessive force and I still get the same 'unlawful arrest' bullshit from the majority of people I arrest. I don't make shit up but no matter how within the law I am people always argue. So if you ever get stun first ask questions later it's because of stuborn fucks who don't know how to roleplay police arrests. So my hint is that even when your doing the right thing your shitcurity, there is no escape...

    Admin Key: Fox P Mcloud

Complaint: First off, as he has recently become the head of Staff, I am unawares as to how this complaint will be taken or recieved,

Firstly I would like to address his general in game actions. At times he seems to favor some other influence on gameplay over RP to the point where he makes trouble on the station for ridiculous reasons (yes I know this isn't against the rules persay) But here are some examples:

    1. He hops the bar and takes the bartenders equipment without anyone's permission since there was no bartender. I told him in game that if he wanted access to that stuff he would have to go get a job change at the HoP, which I think is completely within reason in terms of RP, we can't just let anyone decide they want to mix what are essentially a mixture of controlled drugs without the credentials to do so can we? So I said for the sake of protocal that he should make the trip to the HoP's office and get the job change to which he refused. When I finally had the authorisation to arrest him and began to do it he just commited suicide on the spot.

    2. I was stopping an engineer from stealing NT's booze dispenser only to have Fox sneak behind me with a some cloaking technology, throw a knockout syringe at me, he then stripped me of all of my sec belongings and had me handcuffed when I was doing my job and adhering to RP. I gave the perp plenty of chances and never used excessive force but this staff member took it upon himself to assist in the crime. Fine I'll take that one too.

    3. I was chasing a reported suspect who was clawing his eyes out, and I was trying to get him to stop hurting himself and others and Fox said 'that's my friend' and pointed a shotgun at me without so much as a 'how do you do' while I was a security officer.

In the scenario where he aimed a shotgun at me, regardless of what I was doing that his 'character' didn't agree with, it got to the point of me avoiding the arrest in fear of a ban or him just suiciding and leaving everyone without a bar tender.

So these scenarios meant that we're not off to a good start...

NOTE: Below note that Fox was the only staff member on and I don't think he was having a very busy round in terms of staff duties but I may be wrong.

One round I noticed OOC was globally muted ( very likely by Fox) and wondered what could possibly warrant such a thing as it disables the ability for players to communicate out of RP almost entirely (excluding deadchat) I asked why it was like this via admin help with no response. He then did the same thing imediately at the start of the next round without a word. fine/whatever

Upon logging in I noticed the server was not listed on the Byond list and we were very understaffed (I was the only security officer in this instance) Usually in my experience this non listing is to deal with greytide (which there was no threat of) so I stated that we were not listed and got no response via Admin Help/question due to the fact that (someone) had muted OOC and I couldn't ask why there. But I knew he was online because he was playing in game. I asked why it was not listed on the server again with no reply. Eventually after bring this to his attention again with no previous replies acknowledging/ answering my admin PM queries he finally says 'Stop telling me how to run my server!' and after this I came to the conclusion that there is a very specific environment that Fox P Mcloud likes to have his server in when playing and it seems that this may compromise the experience for others later on.

I don't know if I'm just an idiot, Maybe everyone else clicks with him and I just don't. I don't know what I really want to come of this, maybe he can see it and we can discuss the issue personally one on one, I'm not pointing any fingers and saying he's a shit admin or whatever. I'm just thinking there are some inconsistencies with how I communicate with other staff compared to when I communicate with him. And I am wondering if the aforementioned behavior is encouraged of admins, usual of admins or even tolerable for a head of staff. IDK if being the head of staff means he makes the rules now and all others answer to him but in any case,

I love this server and I enjoy its regulations and guide lines, but I don't know what to make of this and it's some sort of issue whether it be on his part or even mine, lets just discuss it...

While I liked the cuffs being more time consuming and realistic, when I put them on after a flash or stun, I am always cutting it extremely close even if I click as fast as I can. There would be an easy way for me to stun the shit out of the person while applying handcuffs but I have been trying very hard to avoid being shitcurity in that I only stun the exact amount of times I'd need to and when its hazy I always put the perp first over an easy arrest for me. So that's hard enough, factor in lag and the general unresponsiveness and finiky sprite clicking involved with ss13 and you have a ridiculous amount of risk when cuffing a perp alone. There was a griefer running around making bombs and I was the only officer. This change coupled with the issues described above caused him to ruin the round killing me and a few others in an explosion and none of this would have happened had it not been for this handcuff modification. I have spent enough times on both sides of sec to say that it is the greater of 2 evils and should be reverted back to the old thing.

And with the Batton, I think 2 swings is fine, anymore is an unrealistic expectation for an officer when he has a gun that does the same thing but at any distance. Also I've noticed with security that due to lack of access and intelligence, alot of us are no match for the criminals who add to the game (ANTAGS), so the only thing we worry about here is us being too OP at catching the derpy greytide bullshit that happens every round. I never thought sec was OP, sure it made shitcurity easier to happen but I am a legitamate officer who understands spacelaw thoroughly and do not think that I should go to the effort I do with these new changes catching every annoyance with sunglasses on. I've enjoyed the challenge but there are too many variables that can turn this thing on its head and make it something that can ruin the sec experience. It wasn't a stupid decision, there were plenty of legitimate reasons to implement it but it has been tested and decided that it is not the best outcome by me and alot of my fellow security officers.

  4. sorry I misinterperuted what you said, you're worried about others getting their hands on security I.D. I for one think the officers have the means to stop that from happening so it shouldn't be an issue

  5. I maybe it could require a loyalty implant? I would be happy for the armband system to be brought back, and I don't see why the HoS can't access really important parts of the ship considering how important his job is.

  6.

Hello guys, I have a suggestion for security. But firstly to better give a true understanding of why I believe the lack of door access for a security guard is problematic and unnecessary. Now, there have been a few times where I have been a security officer or HoS and I have heard screams or been alerted about a blob in Engineering/medbay/ cargo and I have been unable to get through the door. I do not understand why the first person people look to for safety and protection can not rush into restricted places especially when their job requires a high element of trustworthiness to nanotransen anyway. I get we don't want a occupation that lets griefers run around causing havoc everywhere on the ship with stun guns and stuff but despite all the people calling me shitcurity, I try very hard to play a respectable role. This was somewhat alleviated with armbands but to understanding they have been removed now. A lot of people don't take security very seriously, my brother used an analogy explaining the rest of people as the nerds and security as the stupid jocks. I wish that security guards by default had more access to parts of the ship, I don't think the current 'ask the HoP' system in place is very effective as it takes time, relies on the HoP's willingness and requires individual officers to make an effort to go to the HoP. I'll give you an example. 2 days ago there was a blob in engineering, I got my team suited up but couldn't get into the door, when somebody let me in, there were a bunch of other doors in engineering I couldn't access. Now, Given I had access I could walk through whichever door I wanted searching quickly for the blob and locating him using trial and error, but instead I needed someone to pry the every individual door open or get someone with access. Engineering dealt with it without our aid and had a go at 'shitcurity' once again. I'm quite tired of this, and even though it could promote problem solving skills or quick thinking in the sec officers, it just gets in the way of saving lives. A lot of the time I have all of my officers running down the same hallways while all the murdering and crime happens behind locked doors.

Please could we find a way to improve Securities crime prevention or at least increase the amount of places they can patrol.

I want all roles to be treated with respect.

Thank you, Kute Koala (Isiah Mcintosh)
