    New idea update:

    < Service Cyborg >

I was fooling around with this guy yesterday. Over all, this cyborg module is entirely useless, but it's a fun idea. The module cannot make drinks on it's own, which is sad, because it would be amazing if they had the ability to do so. Perhaps a way to insert a glass into the fountain machines that dispenses alcohol and soda would make them more enjoyable to play, and a lot more useful.

Also, they should have a way to store more drink types in the mixer, like the medical cyborg could make the doctors delight, Inaprovaline, and Spaceacillin in the hypospray.

This cyborg would also be awesome if you could pick up food ingredients and cook with them, making dishes for the crew when the traitor/bored chef is missing/in jail. Or even the ability to synthesize food using cyborg magic, like "Cyborg microwave" you click it and cycle through the various meals you can concoct and dispense them accordingly.

If it's going to be a supportive role, I don't see why it should be so limited. The medical cyborg can do everything in medbay, so there's no reason for the service cyborg to be so useless. This way you can have more variety when playing this module, because it gets rather dull running around offering people a drink that they don't want.

Roleplay of the year: Walks up too something new that shows signs of sentience going "What is Gek?" and making the split decision making only a psychopath would make to murder it where it stands, because hell, even Ian in a fancy corset could be be grounds for it murdering the whole crew if you didn't recognize it first.

A longterm player would recognize how an NPC acts compared too a player, as they are extremely more simplistic. If it was hostile it would have done so in a heartbeat.

This is implying that things do not change, and that things do not get coded into the game. You're saying that because I knew something 5 years ago, it's still true today. No. Things on this server change daily, which is why I still play it. New things are added, mechanics are changed, things are added to the game that make it fresh and renewing. In-fact, Slimes now talk, and guess what slimes are? Hostile creatures. They have constructed sentences. I may be a long term player of the server, but I don't play it 24/7 and know everything about it. There's new stuff I find out EVERY day.

You knew what your threats were. Slimes and Carp. There was no other entities mentioned of a hostile nature. You choose to single it out to kill on your own decisions. You had no reason to murder anything and everything you came across you did not recognize.

Did you miss the part where I said GOLDEN SLIME CREATIONS? Everything created from golden slime is randomly generated. They're often hostile as well. So no, please re-read. I didn't know what the threats where. The xenobiologist released a ton of gold-slime mobs, as well as a at least 30 oil slimes throughout the station.

Lets examine something else shall we?

to-MactoPerFuror: Correction. He was tresspassing and I locked the room down. By him trying to enter a room he was not allowed to enter, he harmed himself.

and our newest one to the mix-"What is Gek?" "Not crew." *blasts*

How are these two things, which you got in trouble for, not extreme behavior? All I see is pandering to find loopholes in the rules just to find an excuse to harm or kill players. As an admin, I have to watch out for that kind of mentality. When I was the clown how am I supposed to not assume you just do that to any random civilian? If they ahelped as well I would have jumped all over you.

These are two entirely different situations. The first one you WERE trespassing. Trespassing is against the law, thus you're now a criminal and a threat. You failed to leave when instructed, and continued to press forward towards an innocent, the roboticist. Being a default drone I had no other way to stop you from entering the room. It was my job to protect them, so I did. And I knew you wouldn't die from a shock, so I went with the only option I had. Every time I tried to pull you out of the room you would walk out of my grip. This is entirely your fault if you act like a jackass and got hurt because of it.

The newest one was just as legit. I had orders to take out unknown life forms that were roaming the station, carp, slime, and all of the randomly generated creations, including a fucking pine-tree, and a crate. So excuse me for expecting the unexpected.

This current issue everything about it is just WRONG in context. I see no reason for this then just greif. Murder of something based on loose reasons, that do not even hold up with what I had witnessed in front of me. As i watched you hold a conversation with it. Both waiting for eachothers posts. I will not tolerate it.

Waiting for each other's posts I walked into the room it said "WHAT IS GEK" And ran towards me. I replied 'Not crew' and smashed it's face in. I don't know what your time-frame was, but it was literally over in seconds.

Just because some other admin has not made you answer for your behavior before does not make what you did before validated. I am, as an admin telling you, that your behavior is wrong, and that this is how I am dealing with it. Clearly, this method did not work with you and I should reconsider for such in the future.

Let's examine something, shall we? "from-Game AdminMactoPerFuror: rule #1. Admin is never wrong. Rule 2# If wrong, read rule 1#" This is a classic example of power tripping. And you continue to show examples of this even when posting towards me. If you're going to pretend to be an admin, at least act like one.

  3.

I had asked another admin if you were the monster, and they didn't say no. So. I was under the impression that you were. Sorry for the confusion. I'm a problem player? I don't think so, but that's your opinion I suppose. And I win the sympathy of the admins everytime I get caught? I don't think me being right is sympathy. That's imply they feel bad for me, which surely they would not if I was a problem player. I have never been banned, I don't grief, I don't go around murdering players for fun. I don't bomb the station, I don't release plasma. I play the game. You're overly agressive and take things too personally, I didn't know it was a player, and I responded to the creature, yes. But that's because I rp, and everything happened in seconds. I interact with Ian even though he's an NPC, that doesn't mean anything. It's not like I sat there typing a paragraph in-front of it. You abused your powers to grief me, that's all there is to it. There was countless hostile randomly generated mobs on the station. This was no different.

And what does me being a long term player have to do with the fact that the creature looked odd? I have never seen it before. I'm sure there's things you haven't seen before.

    Admin Key:MactoPerFuror

Complaint: Hello. I am a long term player of this server, have over 60 karma on my account and play on the daily. Today I was playing security borg, per-usual, and was doing everything by the book. The station was in and out of code blue and red all round, having been attacked by a ton of carp and slimes, as well as golden slime creations. The hallways near the bridge were filled with slimes and hostile creatures, and so was science. Anywho. I was patrolling for more hostile creatures when I came to the morgue. The was a creature I have never seen before and I had no idea what it was. So, as it came at me it yelled "WHAT IS GEK" That creatures name was GEK, mind you. So I thought it was just another NPC, since npcs DO talk in this game. I responded "Not crew" And eliminated it post haste before I was eaten by it Because if you've ever been attacked by carp or aliens as a borg, you know they chunk your hp. I was then messaged by an admin claiming that "Not crew doesn't mean you can murder". First of all, people kill nymphs, carps, any type of alien on a daily bases, so I was not aware defending myself against a possibly hostile mob that has nothing to do with the round or crew was murder.

    http://imgur.com/jveWUu9 <- log 1

    http://imgur.com/xFF7UrH <- log 2

I attempted to explain to the admin in question(MactoPerFuror) that there were multiple hostile entities on the station and that looked like one of them. The creature was a clown pony, apparently. Since that's what the admin called it. On my screen, it looked like a green tube with a brain on top of it, and when it turned at me it turned tan and had like specs all over it. Either way, it freaked me out because it came at me quickly after yelling.

Upon taking it out. I returned to security and attempted to detain a mime that was beating up the security crew, when I was suddenly gibbed. Asked the admin why I was gibbed, he said: "PM from-Game AdminMactoPerFuror: well, you seemed just fine with removing people from the round with poor reasoning, i figured you wouldnt mind the same circumstances."

I had no idea this was a player, and I also don't see why gibbing me justifies the fact that he died. It's just admin abuse. Upon further inspection, the 'pony' in question ended up being the admin. And this is not the first time he's done something like this to me, either. A while back. He broke into robotics as the clown and continued to try to push further into the department by spam clicking the door. I told him to get out, as a borg. My laws said to protect the innocent and punish the criminals or something along that line. When I attempted to remove him, he kept running around the room, refusing to leave through the opened door and continued to try to get into robotics. So, I electrified the door. He didn't listen and clicked the door, shocking himself. I dragged him out, making sure he was okay. Which he was entirely okay. He then messaged me saying "That wasn't honorable" and proceeded to yell at me, saying that basically all logic is out the window and only admins are right. (Yes I have the logs for this as well. https://www.dropbox.com/s/whu4z06bk2qoi ... 9.htm?dl=0) Anyway, I would have been banned if another admin didn't step up.

Anyway, I was clearly admin abused by this highly aggressive admin, who doesn't act anything like an admin when situations are targeted at himself. He takes things into his own hands, rather than letting another staff member deal with it. Thank you for your time.

  5.

Why don't you explain exactly what's happening for you to get arrested FJ? I notice that if you don't like the way things go, you instantly start to hate on them without using proper logic to get to the point you're at. Not trying to be rude, but you seem to jump the gun.

If this law was removed, there would be a lot more stress on admins, since they would have to step up for all the spam instead of having it being handled in character. Now if someone was spamming "FUCKSECURITYFUCKSECURITYFUCKSECURITY" 32 times non stop, obviously an admin would step in and either ban or mute said person (Or both). The law is there to prevent people from spreading misinformation, it's also there to protect the sanity of the crew, including security themselves.

There are many ways to abuse the comms, as it is stated in the actual law, people could be spreading misinformation, they could continue to flood the comms with yelling and pointless babble to the point where security needs to tell them to stop and such like that.

The way comms works on many stations is, they're not really meant for public communication. As in, it's not a chat service. It's supposed to be for transferring information. You're not supposed to be having full fledged conversations on the comms. Even the public comms. It's more like "We now have blah blah in the kitchen! Come eat!" kinda thing, rather than, "SO I FUCKING HATE TAJARANS. RIGHT? RIGHT. EVERYONE HATES THEM BLAHBLABH" or "Hey John, how was your day at work?" etc. That's why we have PDAs.

I'm not saying that's how comms works on this station, but this is how I was brought up with comms. I've been around space station for a loooong time, and every station is different. So, if someone is arresting you for abusing comms, you have alternate ways out, such as IAA and even talking with the HoS or Warden can get you out of a silly charge.

  6.

Why not just add a new objective at the end of the round: "Has been implanted? FAILED.".

While it's true you can get the implant removed eventually, the fact that you were implanted to begin with means you've failed to be a successful infiltrator to begin with.

You can even have it be timed, too. Like if you've been implanted for more than 10 minutes, you utterly give up on your goals and succumb to the chip. If that happens, you have a failed objective on the end screen, even if you completed everything. That way if people remove the chip, you have the right to execute them, because they're not following their sentence to the fullest and all charges would be back on the table.

  7. I mean if you read what I said, they would be bound to specific rules, and that's called metagaming. Which is against the rules anyway. So I don't get your point? It's all balance when it comes to access, and borgs are no different. Medical borgs have unlimited medical resources anyway, so what's your point there? lol

  8.

I know a lot of people are like "SECURITY IS ALWAYS SHIT" well stop being a fucking retard and follow some damn laws or possibly, I don't know, do your fucking job and stay in your department once and a while and security wouldn't have to arrest so many people and having their patience tested on a daily bases.

Coming from the guy who arrested me for having the fireaxe in escape...as an atmos tech....thats pretty funny.

Just because you're an atmos guy doesn't mean you need to be wielding a fire axe in the hallway with NO FIRES. But seriously, I don't even remember arresting you. If I arrested you, it's for a good reason.

  9.

I'm suggestion, and taking suggestions. I dabble in making icons. I wouldn't say I'm amazing at it, but I'm very decent at what I do. I'm more of a detail enhancer, rather than making icons from scratch. I'm very good at making icons look good, basically, but I can also draw up unique pieces. So, if you want anything in game possibly redone, I'll see about doing it. I don't promise anything, since iconning does take time and effort.

With all of that said, I have a bunch of suggestions for various things in the game.

Drones are neat, so I have been playing around with ideas for different types of drones. One of which would be a medical drone. This little critter would float around medbay, completely passable by every mob so it's not in the way of anything.

    Idea suggestions:

    < Medical Drone >

They're easy to shut down, a single EMP shot would disable them until someone reactivates them.

These little bots would be similar to the maintenance ones, however there would only be one or two per round and I'm toying with the idea of them being controlable by medical doctors as well as have minds of their own.

The drones would have synthesizers that create various advanced chemicals like clonexadone and cryoxadone which can be transferred into beakers. They could also make pill form tricordazine and anti-toxin in 5-15 doses.

When loaded with plastic, the drones can weave special thin threads which can be used to sew up wounds rapidly, stopping bleeding and allowing wounds to heal rapidly. This same thread can be woven into casts for splints and fractures. Their synthesizers can also create the regenerative membranes that are in advanced trauma kits.

They would have a soap and space cleaner bottle for keeping medbay nice and neat.

I also think it would be cool if doctors could spend their money on these drones, like the laptop machines, and have a personal medical drone that floats around them, helping them heal patients, something like a personal AI, except, useful. These drones would be bound to laws similar to the maintenance drones, preventing them from being malf or rogue. Emagging them would overload their circuits, shutting them down. I want them to be seen as helpful, not a possible threat.

    ------------------------------------

    < Security Drone >

As the name suggests, these little drones would be able to go through vents, getting to scenes much faster as a scout rather than being a robust officer. They could help immensely with crime scenes and catching criminals and possibly even saving lives.

    Their kit: (possibilities)

    Police tape

    universal recorder

    a camera

    Zipties, capable of cuffing.

    Tricordazine synthesizers

    a siren

    a donuts dispenser

    a seclite

    evidence bag dispenser

    a taser with 1-2shots.

Same with the previous drone, cannot be emagged, hacked, etc. Bound by specific laws.

    ------------------------------------

    < Mining Drone >

I've planned this one for a while, but I don't know what to expect with the current changes that are coming to play in the mining department. Basically I want a drone that can go around and easily collect loose ores and suck up sand to make glass. To accomplish this the drone would be larger than normal, having a cargo hull that can load 200+ ores for transferring. That seems like a lot, but it's not. A single mining satchel can hold fifty ores. What this does is allow miners to mine the ores while the drone collects it, maximizing efficiency and getting the ores to where they need to go faster. These drones would be manufactured on the mining asteroid. I'm also fond of the idea of them having a laser for mining, but that's just an idea.

    Kit:

    - A large satchel that they carry internally or externally (Depends on the icon I draw up, or someone else draws up)

    - A mining laser (optional)

    - A vacuum-like dust collected, for sucking up sand.

    - A plasma or uranium secondary engine for power

    - An ultra bright LED lantern on their head, for space. Doesn't take up a slot on their action bar, instead acts like a mining helm, where you can activate it VIA the top left actions.

    - Dark sight, with night vision optical senses

    - The ability to pull and open crates and only crates.

Cannot be emagged or hacked etc.

    ------------------------------------

    Game changing suggestions:

    < Mining Cyborg >

In my opinion, this cyborg could be a lot better. It's lacking a lot of core elements that miners have. Miners now have the ability to set up drills. It would be awesome if mining cyborgs had the same core tools to set up these drills and properly maintain them. Mining cyborgs have a screw driver and a wrench for some reason in their kit. That's.. the only tools they have. If you give them a crowbar, like every miner starts with, they could actually be useful. The other issue is the battery changing. A solution to this would be to have a battery rack, like the medical cyborg has a roller bed rack that they can deploy and pick up. If you allow the miner borg to pick up battery's and store them internally for replacement in mining drills, that'd make everyone's lives easier. Also they would need to be able to interact with battery chargers as well. Or possibly charge them when they enter a cyborg charging bay.

Mining cyborgs should have toggle-able meson scanners built into their optical sensors when they choose that frame. It shouldn't be a hot-bar thing. The same can be said with their lantern. Their lantern needs to be brighter and it needs to be toggle-able. If you want I will icon a light on each of their heads if it will appease the coders to make this a thing.

I also believe that mining borgs should have a bigger mining satchel giving their size, I would guess they would be able to haul a ton of ores back to camp. And if not a bigger bag, a hose that connects to an ore box that automatically transfers ores picked up into the ore box. Would literally make life 10/10.

I don't know if it's possible, but also the ability to upgrade the cyborg mining drill. It's not on point with the diamond mining drill, I believe, so a way to upgrade it to that status would be amazing.

    -------------------------------------------

    < Service Cyborg >

I was fooling around with this guy yesterday. Over all, this cyborg module is entirely useless, but it's a fun idea. The module cannot make drinks on it's own, which is sad, because it would be amazing if they had the ability to do so. This way you can have more variety when playing this module, because it gets rather dull running around offering people a drink that they don't want.

More to come, just posting this for now~

  10.

This subject is something I've been annoyed with for a while. There's far too many things that are not in the space law that SHOULD be in space law, that people are abusing daily.

Such as giving away genetics to crew outside the lab, making viruses that are 'helpful' and releasing them onto the crew.

The laws need to be made specifically for specific areas of the station. The laws have so many holes in them that it's not even funny. A good lawyer would rip space law a new one, and there would be nothing anyone could do about it.

The fact that people get away with things like making genetic experiments and then parking them in-front of intercoms spewing filth from Tourettes and literally not getting any punishment is annoying.

I think admins need to step in a bit more when it comes to bad heads as well, because I've seen SO many captains that do not even know space law as it is currently. Head of personnels should NOT be handing out full access to the clown for shits and giggles, and even if I reported that to an admin no one would do anything about it. NT reps don't give a damn 90% of the time as well.

I know the station is 'fast paced' but lets be reasonable. Security's job is hard enough when there's 60+ crew members that are all doing whatever the fuck they want rather than working. This is a work place after all.

I've personally arrested many people for breaking laws and have had higher ups tell me to remove all charges because 'it's funny' or 'I don't care'. I'm tired of heads having favoritism towards their 'friends' or well known members of the station just because of their OOC status. This should be entirely against both the rules, and law. Security officers shouldn't have to deal with that.

With that being said, I would like to see some job specific laws that people would be bound to. Like for instance, geneticist should NOT be handing out hulk to civilians. This should be an immediate demotion with jail time.

Space law 107 - Misuse of Public Radio Channels should apply to genetic experiments as well, and the creators should be PUNISHED for having them wear headsets with the intent to pollute the comms. The reason I say this is because whenever I or someone else has tried to arrest someone for this, the head of security says they're not responsible, when they clearly are.

Virologist should NOT be making viruses with the intent to spread them to the station. There's a reason this job exists and it's NOT to give everyone on the station the ability to glow and run super fast. Not only is this dangerous to the crew, it makes containing criminals harder than it should be. This should be considered a biological threat and should be considered a medium to high offense and a demotion.

Head of personnel should NOT be handing out additional access without the consent of the proper department head. You shouldn't be giving an xenobiology access to toxins without the research directors go ahead. The reason for this is simple. It clutters departments and makes people who actually want to do their job annoyed because they have too many chefs in the kitchen, as they say. Also it makes knowing who's trespassing very difficult.

One thing that annoys me is people with additional access complaining that they're being arrested for being in a department they don't belong in because they have said access. It's not like security knows you have access to these areas. That's not their job. Head of personnel should inform security that specific people have additional access VIA security records or through communication.

I also believe that space law should have something for security borgs. Security borgs should be seen as officers, so people can stop complaining that "BORG YOU CAN NOT ARREST ME I AM CREW". Something that even though they're cyborgs, they're still an officer of the law, and will act accordingly and should be respected like anyone on the station.

  11. It might also be the way bodies work. Instead of like tajaran where you color the whole body, you color just the head because of the hair. I think the body part is using the wrong shader. Perhaps it's using the human skin color shader instead of an actual color shader.

  12. The reason it doesn't work, I believe is because the frame's original color is too dark. You need to gray scale it to allow it to accept color. Or else you'll just end up with a light gray frame or a solid black frame. With the shade in between of course. I can icon a 'color-able' frame, if you want.

  13.

I know the server is a work in progress, but do you think it would be possible to revert to a build of the server that is stable? There's a lot of game breaking bugs in the current version, and it's been like that for a few hours. We all appreciate all the work that's being done, but keeping the server in a broken state kind of ruins the epicness of all that's being done.

I'm not really asking for anything major, just a roll back to last version where the server had working PDAs, airlocks, and mining/research outposts. Also, maybe it would be possible to host a testing server before releasing to the public server? It might clear up some game breaking bugs before it gets pushed off to the normal server and make less work for the admins.

  14. I like jobs required by karma. I dislike, however, most jobs being over priced. The fact that magistrate is a needed job and is 30 karma is kind of retarded. I wish it were lowered so people can afford it. That way we don't have Hitler captains like the one we had last round. Ordering executions without trails..

  15.

If you mean the hardsuit looks ugly then I have to disagree, I quite like the greenish cyan looking stripes on it.

However, I like the layout on other servers where all the engineering hardsuits are in one area near a possible airlock rather than just having them on racks in the atmospherics bay.

I'm talking about the bulky fire suit that are in fire lockers.

  16.

Having your department ran by multiple heads causes a lot of problems. I see no reason for CE to have any control over robotics, seeing as they simply create machines and borgs. It really makes no sense for the CE to have any say/control over them, since he cannot watch over them like the RD can. Plus the department is running off research and development's levels in order to create new mechs and tools.

And the fact that R&D sometimes requires things form Robotics to boost their technology. The two work well side by side and shouldn't be moved/changed.

  17. I know the stuff already exists, that's why I was suggesting a role that would put them to use. If all else fails I'll just turn the hardsuit into power armor, because the current power armor is ugly imo.
