  1. TLDR at the end of the post if you are a cow and don't want to read it.

I'm playing A LOT the coroner role and, even if it's my favorite role to play, i really need to take a break from it because the situation gets very frustrating the majority of the rounds.

I don't know how other players handle this role but i try to play it the best as i can to be useful to detective's investigations and to security in general and, you know what, when other medics don't mess everything up i can be VERY useful. As a coroner you are able to determine the cause of death of other players, the weapon used and, sometimes, the killer too. Happened few times, since i learned how to be a good coroner, that i discovered who was the vampire that everyone was looking for or who was the traitor that killed the CMO.

But why you can't be useful every round as a coroner? Cause other medics comes in the morgue and fucks everything up with literally zero respect for that role and for the hard work you are doing.

-EVERY other medic can open the morgue doors and mess around and they shouldn't be able to do that. Why you ask? For the same reason because people can't open the cargobay main door, they can't come in so they are forced to talk to cargo techs and ASK for what they need, this create role play and let cargo techs to handle situations. Imagine what will happen if you let everyone that need a multitool enter and craft it himself ignoring the job of cargotechs. Chaos. Well, thats the situation of the morgue since all this people have access to the morgue: medical doctors, geneticists, roboticists and even paramedics! Can be more that i haven't noticed yet.
Since they can enter and do what they want, they usually do that, never speak to you, never ask things, just enter, open trays, mess everything up and leave, without a word. Super frustrating. Remember that in the morgue there are ID, PDA and tons of other restricted object very, very often, since the morgue don't have a locker room to secure those important items in.
-Even more frustrating is that all this people can open the morgue trays, picking up corpses, moving them, messing with his clothes and items. This, is totally unacceptable. I, as a coroner, have the responsibility of those bodies and, if something goes wrong, the detective blame me but i have no way to guard those bodies and prevent others from tampering evidences if im not going rampage and fucking handsawing everybody that comes in without asking what they need. For example, i got a strange body that had strange wounds few days ago and i literally lost 25 minutes figuring out what happened to him before discovering that it was originally handcuffed and a stupid medic removed the handcuffs without saying it to me. Of course the detective blamed me.
-To be more helpful to the detective i ALWAYS label every bodybag and tray with the name of the body, the cause of death and the place where he is found dead or critical. Why? Because, for example, this is how i discovered that the last vampire that was killing everyone was a miner. Those informations looks irrelevant but they are totally not. But, you know what? No one gives a shit and other medics and paramedics just bring the body in, already naked (sometimes i don't even know the name or the job of the corpse cause of this), they don't even say a word when i ask where they found it or who bring it in medbay, OPEN SOME RANDOM TRAY AND PUT IT IN THERE. Try imagine what are the results when this happen when i'm already performing an autopsy in another body and i don't notice that someone is inside the morgue moving bodies around LABELED TRAYS. Yeah, lots of trouble for me and the detective.

So, what will make the coroner role not frustrating like hell to play (if played well)?

-Only the coroner, the CMO and the detective/security can open the morgue's door. This will prevent random medics to enter in and mess everything up. They don't need the morgue access anyway.
-Only the coroner, the CMO and detective/security can open the trays. Same reason as before, other people don't have a reason to open trays.
-A front office can help medics and paramedics to bring bodies to the morgue without entering it and causing involuntary troubles to investigations.
-A small locker room with some lockable locker/crates to store important items found in corpses, including ID, PDA, illegal stuff found in bodies, weapons found in bodies or other evidences.

The coroner is a custom job of Paradise and this is one of the reason why i love and play this server but, as it is right now, it's poor implemented and really need some attention.

TLDR: the coroner works with security and detective to help discovering killers and this is very hard to do right now because too many unnecessary roles can enter the morgue, open trays and messing up the coroner/detective investigation. This not only cause troubles but lower the level of RP around the morgue from medium to low. Need more restriction to doors, trays and a front office to solve the situation. A locker room for important items found in bodies could help a lot too.
