    I think the PR needs some adjustments. It would (in my opinion) not be too good to effectively remove ranged stuns. It'd serve the player better to limit distribution, and it'd make the PR less... harsh on the players.

    Regular security officers (and the warden) could do without ranged stuns. The removal of the taser from their loadout is a good idea. Regular officers rely on ranged stuns far too much, and it'd be a nice change, as the officers would have to rely on RP, or general combat skill as opposed to just flooring them immediately. (Unless you want to be a true God and use the stunbaton... which really should get more use, but that doesn't matter here)

    The ERT and the Blueshield should keep their ranged stuns in the same way the HoS does. The HoS is a job that takes time to obtain. You must play on security for a certain amount of time before it's available. It gives the security players time to learn the SoP, rules, combat, and RP. So it'd only be natural that the Blueshield, a karma-unlockable job, would keep their ranged stun as well. Since a Blueshield requires karma, it's safe to say the players who obtain the Blueshield have a good idea of how RP works, as karma is given out to people for good RP and knowing how to do things properly.

    I realize this post is against INSTANT ranged stuns, so why not make the stun situation for the people who'd still have it? Make the taser a situational ability. Reducing the range, making the shots cost more power, etc. etc.

  2. I have like, a few characters.

    Chester Pattel - I made the mistake of making him with me in mind. He's like a carbon copy of me except if I was in space on a dangerous research vessel with an extreme knowledge of engineering. I regret making him like this, because I really am starting to dislike how similar we are.

    Urbana - I mean, I'm not a slime person. I'd say we have a similar enthusiasm, but we definitely do not act the same.

    Lucius Norwood - Not like me at all. When he's not cold and calculated, he's got a work ethic and teamwork mindset that I wish I could maintain.

    Ashton Kane - "Praise be to Ember!" Religious nut. That's why he's my chaplain character.

    Joseph Sanford - Joseph Sanford is a moral professional. I am not a professional so you can imagine how it'd hard to maintain this character, but I manage.

    Elijah Price - Space fascist. A mean spirited, and cold person. I think he's as far away from me in the personality department as physically possible. I think I manage to play him well.

    Squash - Aha! I haven't played this guy yet! I want him to be a nervous and timid slime person. Skiddish and afraid of any danger. Don't expect to see him in the maintenance shafts.

     

    And that's all my characters. Some I play more than others. I think I do a decent job at maintaining my distance from them and not being too much like any of them.

    Because when you are your characters, then problems arise.

    Biography: Chester was born in the generally small city of Urbana Expellit on 8/13/2541. He was born into a family of engineers and mechanics, and began working on mechanical systems around when he was eleven years of age. Not much else is publicly known about Chester.

    Basic EMT training provided by a local fire station.

    Previous jobs include being an engineer, a biomechanical engineer, and a guitarist.

    An abundance of engineering knowledge. Chester is able to perform most if not all engineering tasks.
    Decent medical knowledge. Chester has basic EMT training in the event of an engineering accident.

    Chester Pattel has been known to have several incidents with security, Nanotrasen Command, and even Enemy Organizations in his time working with Nanotrasen. It is believed Incidients while on-shift include:
    Being told off by Central Command officer "Markus Black" for challenging officers to fist fights via fax. This incident has happened on numerous occasions, thus, Chester Pattel is no longer allowed to fax Central Command with challenges of combat. No matter how legal the document is in practice.

    Having a bounty of (aprox.) twenty million "dollars in hard currency" (According to the Syndicate Communique) placed upon his name in response to using a fax machine to fax a "tasteless" picture to the Syndicate Organization. They were able to contact the Syndciate via using a cryptographic sequencer on the Chief Engineers fax machine.

    Having a Syndicate Infiltration Team sent after him in response to a fax of his bottom being sent to the Syndicate. All Syndicate Infiltration Team members were terminated. Chester Pattel seemingly beat one of the members (which were trained in close quarters combat) on the bridge. Following this, the Syndicate issued a communique, threatening the activation of a Syndicate Strike Team. Upon hearing this, security detained Chester Pattel and delivered him to Syndicate Officer "Bryan [REDACTED]" in direct conflict with the orders of (Former) Captain Natalie Ronalds. The fate of Chester Pattel following this is unknown, however he has returned since then.

    Chester J. Pattel is extremely versed in hand to hand combat. He has been observed pacifying multiple crew members (and non-crew members in various cases) in "Rage Cages" and other various non-standard circumstances.

    not sure if this is still a thing, but back in MY day, you could throw dead borgs into airlocks to open them up. This was major for xenos, since the only way to get through an airlock before then was melt it.

    I do not believe this is a thing anymore, as pushing a borg into an airlock no long has the same effect as pushing a PERSON into an airlock. Disappointing, I know ;-;

  6. I am called Kuha! I came to SS13 by virtue of my friend. They were playing around on an Fallout 13 server running on /TG/ code, so I decided to go ahead and play with them. I learned the basics and how to generally play the game on the Fallout Outcasts server, but that's sadly... dead. It died, and I had to find a new server to play on. Low and behold, Paradise was there, beckoning me. I joined and then I played. I played, and played, and played. I have racked up somewhere around 590 hours of playtime on Paradise as of writing this. I'd like to say I know lots of tricks and tips, and I'd be happy to share them with any of you!

     

    So please, if you feel like you want to be friends, talk to me! I love to make new friends!
