Shame you've decided to head out, but do hope you're not leaving on a negative note.

It wasn't my decision to leave, I was told by staff that I cannot keep playing here. I used to be a very naughty player long ago and someone found out.

Thank you for the kind words everyone.

  2. Hello.

It's been fun playing with you guys, but I am no longer wanted here. Hope someone else picks up the mantle of powergaming and breaks the limits once more.

I never made a friend on ss13, but everyone secretly hopes to be liked, thanks for all the good and bad times!

Spraybottles are robust as fuck, even when filled with only water. Please don't consider making them latheable so every civilian and cunt-turd can have one

I haven't included them in the list because everyone can already make spraybottles at roundstart using the biogenerator at arrivals hydroponics. Maint is also filled with them.

    The more you know.

  5. Since botany rework, it has become extremely hard to get basic supplies as a chef. Every single round without fail botany only focuses on weed and weaponized tomatoes, without fail. It's not even their fault because the systems directly encourage it with the accelerated plant needs and there being essentially nothing but weaponization and weed available.

Botany is now completely designed around spamming one of the dozen weed variants in seizure rainbow colors that additionally look terribly drawn.

Plants can no longer be colored or their aesthetics in any way altered besides glow color.
Products can no longer be changed and neither can maturation speed be altered.
Plant analyzer reports spam the already spammed chat window and can't be preserved on paper without tedious copy pasting.
You can no longer get seed samples out of grown plants.

Gene manipulation has been streamlined to basic functionality and had any depth from it removed. There's no planning or anything needed anymore, just select your favourite things and add them in without any thinking required.

I think it was a downgrade in every way except for biogenerator additions.

Autolathe for duct tape creation as well as dropper creation?

Dropper in autolathe seems logical. Pipettes could also be added since they are exactly like droppers just limited to 1u transfers.

I would also go with duct tape in autolathe but I bet someone will argue in favor if biogenerator instead.

Since you're making the water cooler movable: sinks, showers and toilets could also be made movable to further allow redecorating. I've seen a crate on one server that had bathroom appliances (sink/shower/toilet), there weren't any balance related issue with it unless water supply is considered - but chem dispensers already create water out of energy so a simplistic device used for these wouldn't be that far fetched and make sense thematically.

  7. Speaking of duct tape, both it and regular package wrappers are only obtainable 1 roll per cargo crate: from Bureaucracy Crate and from Arts&Crafts Crate respectively. I had to look this up in source code just now and I'm a cargo regular. Either autolathe or biogenerator could be able to replenish them if they are going to have a more popular use.

Rolling pin could be crafted using a knife and wood, both available near chefs workplace.

  8. In here I'll try to list all the items and machinery that are commonly used during rounds yet are irreplaceable (in their function) by building/ordering, please add more if you know of any. Hopefully someone will try and implement methods of introducing new ones into the round.

    Dropper

    Rapid Crate Sender

    All-In-One Grinder

    Food Processor

    Cream Master Deluxe

    Rolling pin

    Splints

  9. I think everything was cleared up at this point and this can be considered resolved from my point of view.

Thank you for the speedy handling of the situation.

  10. On point 1: I can see how it could be just trying to keep the topic succinct and coherent, but I can't see how issuing a warning for a reply to another admin that quoted me was justified.

Necaladun stated as much that unless I'm suggesting with the post that he singled him out, it was irrelevant. I replied that yes that was what I meant, logically making it relevant according to Necaladun. But by that time the post was already deleted and soon after even my queried reply, leaving me confused as to why one admin wants me to clarify and another warns me for doing so.

As for point 2: I hope you understand how I considered myself involved since I have done the exact thing as in the incident for weeks prior to it and how this could apply to me in the future and would have just made the exact same complaint had I experienced the same response. I rather not further delve into this in a proxy thread and think I made myself clear as to how I see the incident.

What I learned from this was that having vague guidelines regarding admin complaints makes them open to interpretation and causes needless conflict between parties that feel involved and others that feel they are not.

@TermedClepe2 I also offered an opinion that was in Neca's defense based on experiences I have had, and I deleted my own comments based on Sparks request. He wasn't just targeting you. Lashing out like an angry child being punished by your parents doesn't help. Guess what? The players ARE the kids in this analogy. The admins and maintainers are the parents. They pay the mortgage and utilities. They do the hard work. We just live (play) here. They don't owe us anything.

I do not appreciate the comparison to an angry child, since I have not displayed nor posted anything remotely offensive or angry.

I do not see how your personal experiences with Neca or comments on his persona are related to the things that transpired, unless they were similar circumstances. I on the otherhand mentioned repeatedly doing exactly what was described in the complaint with drastically different results.

We don't censor things related to the complaint, hence why your first post was left up. Opinions are not facts; and not relevant to the complaint. We have never permitted such inside complaints.

When you're told to stop, it means 'stop'. Take it to PMs or somewhere else so you aren't slowing down the process.

Which opinions are you referring to?

Which part of what I said was unrelated to the complaint?

I clearly said I did the exact same things as mentioned in the complaint many times over, and received no interaction from admins for it despite multiple admins being present and said actions surely notifying admins of explosions. I suggested that the admin interaction was due to it being that particular player and not due to his actions which were never punished before when done by anyone else. All this relates to the complaint, I stated all of this politely and without displaying any anger. All this was deleted.

I do not see which part you considered off topic or unrelated to the complaint.

The post for which you issued a warning was in response to a direct quote by another admin to clarify intent since he was unsure of what I wrote. In essence I'm being warned for responding to an admin where he quoted me because another admin told me to stop posting despite contributing to the complaint and being on topic.

I think you're in the wrong here Spacemanspark and are censoring the posts while using forum warnings to further dissuade me from even suggesting foul play, all because I asked for similar examples of other players being punished to this extent (as in the related admin complaint) for similar actions.

  13. Admin Key: Spacemanspark

    Your Discord name (if applicable):

Complaint: Despite claims that admin complaints are not censored and meant to get feedback on what you do, my posts in which I accused necaladun for singling out a player that related to the topic and gave feedback about the situation during which I was present were in fact censored by deletion from Spacemanspark and I was given a forum warning for responding to a headmin after being directly quoted.

    Subforum description:

"The point of this forum is to have well thought out and clear complaints. Quite obviously all complaints must be polite. Posts that display too much anger or unreasonable thought will be removed. We do this to get feedback on what we do."

    Sticky in subforum:

"Polite and well thought out posts are a requirement. All admin complaints will be held to a professional standard and never censored. If you feel that the admin complaint should be private you can PM any Senior or Head admin"

Unless you're accusing me of not doing it to you but doing it to Imsxz for some personal reasons, then I believe this is utterly irrelevant.

I meant that I do not know of anyone else getting punished for raiding the syndi outpost, and found the claim that this wasn't aimed at him because it was imsxz dubious. So in a way I guess I am.

I am only responding now because I was directly quoted. Forgive me if I'm breaking any unwritten rules here, but there are to my knowledge no rules in place on contributing to an admin complaint. The admin complaint sticky specifically states "We do this to get feedback on what we do.", yet you deleted my post that displayed no anger or disrespect and was on topic.

  15. I would like to note that I personally raided the syndi outpost dozens of times on 100+ server pop with explosives and sometimes with nothing but a stack of metal rods and a welder, posing zero risk to me and have received 0 bwoinks, inconveniences or other interactions from admins as a result of it.

It would be interesting to see examples of similar actions taken against other players as I have never experienced or witnessed it myself before this incident.

In general nobody likes getting taken out of the round, while it is the case that everyone dies at the end if the cult is successful, that is not the same as getting removed midway through the round, and then having the cult fail and the round fizzle into extended.

People being made into constructs is not taking them out of the round though, just so you understand the underlying mechanics involved in the mentioned issue.

  17. Currently borgs have as much weapon ammo as they have battery life. After a measly super cap cell upgrade this becomes a negligible resource during combat, meaning they can carelessly spam their weapons for minutes without pause. With botany/xenobio cells, which are quite readily available for the majority of an average round, borg power management becomes a non-issue.

I propose their weapons require a recharge at the borg charging station instead of draining battery life, with ammo count being similar to their humanoid tool counterparts. By weapons I also mean the disabler. Syndi borgs should be exempt from this due to not actually having a ranged energy weapon but rather a magical machine gun.

This was done to nip this tactic in the bud before it entered the meta too much and resulted in cult rounds being unfun for people in general.

This is pure speculation based on an insignificant sample size. I'd prefer conversation relating to the narrative dissonance of cult rounds be kept to the intended thread, rather than derail this one. I originally mentioned it only as an example of what antags have to deal with OOC.

    11 minutes ago, necaladun said:

Please do try to avoid such snark, hyperbole, and arguments like  "it hurts peoples feelings".

This entire thread is about antags being shackled because they have to consider feelings of others before their own actions. You can't just decide something is hyperbolic when it's accurately describing the dilemma. In fact deadchat complaining was mentioned in the cult related thread, which is quite literally a case of peoples feelings being hurt used as an argument.

An actual example of hyperbole is calling something overplayed when statistically the frequency is of it occurring is 1 per hundreds of games.

  19. 58 minutes ago, necaladun said:

That is not the case at all. It is not forbidden for cultists to make people into constructs.

You were asked to stop doing it because it was boring, overplayed, and predictable. This was not a general rule for everyone, but was an instruction from admins to a single player to make cult rounds more interesting for everyone instead of dominated by one persons decision to overuse the same tactic.

I've done it literally 3 times in the entire time I'm on this server, which is a really long time in play hours and rounds played. But thank you for illustrating how confirmation bias works in practice.
