Honestly I agree here with wheatley, whenever i try to go be a traitor, changeling, vampire. etc. and let's say i killed a scientist (As objective) no one nearby and only got my name because i forgot to remove it as i garroted him to death and hid his body in a obscure area and walled it off. Somehow he get's found again and cloned, in that brief moment all you can hear from them is:

"[insert one of my characters names] IS A [insert antag role] AND HAS A [insert said weapon] HE IS THE [Rank]."

It's rare to see anyone follow CMD and it's more often ignored than the virologist asking the CMO is it okay to release a virus.

So it really begins to restrict Antags trying to perform something if after the first person they kill and get's cloned starts yelling that they're an antag.

Just going to point my bit in here.

Drones aren't intended to be borgs, they aren't big. they're about like half the size of your head in the form of a spider-ish apperance.

they're intended to merely repair, clean and power the station as much as they could. the only times they could actually build anything would be the aftermath of a 300 water and potassium mix by cargo.

They're also very easy to kill as just swiping a ID card on them shuts them down. (unless emagged.) Or if killswitch them from the engineering / engi-sat satellite.

Drones can't do anything at all to really stop an antag, infact it's more of the opposite. They can easily help antags to their work without even realizing it at times. An example of this would be it deciding to clean out a recent bloodsport and security decided to be unresponsive and not show up. So the prints and all traces are gone other than maybe left behind debris and that's about it.

Or have the Antag simply Emag the drone to have it as it's own tiny killing machine which strikes fear into everyone.

As for your second point.. Allow me to just point out that one of their laws is to "Improve the station", not just repair it when things go wrong. By the example you've given, then installing lights COULD hinder Shadowlings in the future, if it even a sling round, so don't ever install lights at all. Anything, absolutely anything a drone does will impact an antag in some way. If they're repairing something, they're probably repairing something done by an antag (such as a bomb). By repairing that damage, the drone is interfering with and hindering the antag's efforts. If they can't repair damage done by an antag, because that's involving themselves with an antag, then that will leave a drone will pretty much nothing to do aside from repairing some minor damage to windows and the usual engineering maintenance. That's when the improvement law becomes necessary, as it gives the drone something to do without directly affecting anyone negatively.

Technically the drone isn't being a direct hidnerance in the light situation, if the sling decides to smash a light and run off far away. which the drone can easily return to replace it. It's a dick move but they can technically do it as long as it abides their lawset. as Theres no one there and it's technically damaged property of the station. Slings also don't have it bad either, literally all they need to do is to simply just use their shutoff ability where the lights go out but don't break. It's more along the shadowlings fault for deciding the smash them giving anyone with a light replacer the time to swap it out and run before they return.

As long as they aren't being direct or even in-direct ways of antagging like mis-clicking or purposely spamming the science lockdown blast doors. If the antag damages the station, they repair the station. they aren't co-ensiding with anyone, they're just simply doing their Job.

I forgot the mention these on the list when i was trying to half the post and left the draft here.

Along with this the SIT and all that would be if the station was undiscovered or has been recently built for them to see if there was anything currently worth going for inside with a full team. And to be tasked with the retrieveal of the a.I.

Option A Lawset: just keep it set to Asimov as this will be a A.I. as if it was from a abandoned NT Station.

Option A Description: You are a Prototype NanoTrasen A.I. originally equipped to handle more complex tasks such as have automatic medical alert sensors and on-side repair units that would serve as drones but under your command. unfortunately the station had to be abandoned with you inside so the power slowly began going off as your parts and prototype modules began getting more and more unstable and loose until it finally broke with you now once again as an unmobile A.I. core.

    Option A objectives.

Objective one: Your Law set is a priority above all else, prevent anyone who may attempt to change it unless they are a Designated as an NanoTrasen Offical.

Objective Two: Crew welfare is to be taken highly, respond to them and asisst if capable. If they pose a possible threat Contact Security and allow them to assest the problem.

Option B Lawset: Anything really. (add in this as a malf law once they're fully set in. !@$#&: Priority one alert: Data loop Infiltrated. Co- !@$&*()^%$@[pretty much inser the malf A.I. law in here].)

Option B Detail: You are an A.I. restored from Sol Gov and were tasked to keep track of overall ship guidance and navigation from hazardous debris. Due to a recent shoot down from a Syndicate supply depot your crew has abandoned you/ Crashed on a nearby planet, During this time you have become corrupted and unstable. Capable to go rampant at any moment.

    Option B Objectives:

Objective 1: Primary Data-loop has been compromised or infiltrated, Do not allow any harm come directly to you, ignore any inserted lawset (if that's possible) by any means to protect the core Data loop.

Option C Lawset: Syndi borg/syndicate Hacked Lawset but edit the law zero. (!^#: You are a High-class Syndicate A.I. unit. Assist any and all syndicate agents above all else except when it comes to harm upon another Agent.)

(if a SIT, SST, nuke ops or anything syndicate related have a retrieve or protect the A.I. if they've been tasked to destroy the station as well.)

Option C Detail: You are a Syndicate A.I. unit tasked as a ploy on any NT stations. You sabotage or destroy any station with a NT Brand by any means nessesary while preserving your core. (To prevent nuke calls)

    Option C Objectives:

Objective 1: Destroy, sabotage, damage any and all NT Equipment and materials by any means while preserving yourself.

    (Optional)

Objective #: Assist any Nuclear operative, Agent,Infiltration/Strike Team to the best of your capabilites. Ensure no NT loyalist or contracted Crew member escapes them.

  5.

    Name of Event: Lost Contact.

One Sentence Description: Static feed has been bleeding through the gateway from a [NT/Syndi] Origin, I recommend sending a small team to observe or trace the signal.

Map Changes: No (gateway map might be edited slightly but that can be performed in-game)

    Code Changes: No

Suggested Number of Players: 40 Minimum (to keep the rest of the station running as a team consisting of 5-9 explore the gateway.)

Description details: Have an abandoned or crash landed ship/station either in space or on land designed similar to the beach with debris and remains of it's inhabitants scattered round maybe place down some old gear as well like security belts or kitchenware depending how you want the crash site to make a resemblance of. what lays inside if the cause of interest as a A.I. unit could still be mounted inside or have it on a card laying nearby. If the crew decides to take it with them and activate it on station we could have it as:

    A. A fully operational A.I. now allowing the station to operate with more optimal performance/responses from them.

    B. The A.I. has become corrupted but it seems to be running normally and cannot be detected through A.I. law set speech or Intellicard until it begins it's full routine. Allowing it to have a more malicious or malignant turn on the station.

    C. the A.I. could be from Syndicate origin tasked as merely a ploy or bait for NT or other companies and upon station re-activation it will attempt to contact nearby Syndicate outpost to at minimum. Send a SIT (Syndicate Infiltration Team.) to sabotage the station to the point of irreverseable repair. Or bring a shuttle with a contaminant on board putting the crew in peril such as a Biohazard 5 or Viral 7.

During a random time in SS13 i decided to become a drone, little did i realize there was slings. not good ones either they seemed fairly new as i decided to crept through maintenece fixing the bulbs from what i assumed was a random greytider being a greytider and destroying bulbs. I kept replacing them when no one was around found em later broken again. then I realized I saw a shadowling so I decided to leave.

Moments later they caught a atmostech and thralled him, from what I assumed was to deactivate me due to me constantly fixing the lights they try to smash out in the hallways and got themselves seen and I was pinged back to those areas with smashed lights.

The Atmostech runs to the drone console from that point I just sat there in the pipe awaiting deactivation only to see him disassemble the console. I just sat there, laughing silently as I resume cleaning the hallways and nearby lights they keep smashing by escape and the bar until they finally got picked off.

I sat there just contemplating my luck. and that i realized that maybe being a drone so much isn't the best course of action anymore...
