Before you read this throw out any sort of thoughts of rose tinted glasses because I went through the trouble of setting up a server running BYOND 507 and a client package for it. I gave it to a bunch of friends who don't play anymore and hosted a server on a REAL old paracode build on it. ZAS, red hit marks when attacked. You know, the actual good old days.

We had so much fun even though we were totally directionless and almost played it like traitor deathmatch! You know why? Because the systems in place back then was made to make it hard to survive. Dangerous things was actually dangerous and bombs were king, now they're a super minor inconvenience that any civilian with floortiles and metal on them can fix

Balance for the sake of M/HRP has changed Para for the worse and forced "parity" with other code bases was pointless to begin with. Now I can go on any other server and have an old-school fun paratime instead of the unique gameplay of balanced RP that we used to have.

That's the reason I'm logically assuming it's back for, given how it usually is for small gimmicky features which get included in PR's.

I didn't create the topic. I find it to be an annoyance I could suffer without and this is the opportunity I got to voice my annoyance.

I'm not saying it's broken. I'm saying it's a stupid feature. if it was broken it'd have to be crashing people, as it stands though it is a dumb; needless and annoying feature. It was removed once before, with no reason as to it being brought back other than for "SS13 Memes must live"

Also I'd say your counter-point was equally hilarious if we're measuring how useful it was for the sake of the arguement

    What the fuck

Are you the guys thats responsible of the "warning, contains hot" label on my coffee?

Here's an easy fix, don't touch the lightbulb until you die

I can fuck up and accidentally touch one as well, especially in RnD, but that doesn't kill me, not even close, you'd have to have the intent of killing yourself in mind to even get close to serious injury.

"Guys let's remove glass shards because you can kill yourself with them"

First. I don't think that's an actual warning. Second. It's not that it happens. It's that it's a possibility with the PR that Fox did and Sam brought up, and it's stupid. Just pure and utter stupid.

I like to think the characters that we play as are smarter than 2 year old babies. When my character accidentally burns himself on a light I somehow managed to click because it was occupying the same tile space as a vendor? Sort of breaks that illusion.

Really. You can't expect this to still be a thing that people will accept when you can do what I've shown in the pictures.

This was technically already a thing before. At some point there was a PR that prevented burning on lightbulbs, all was well in the word. Then someone made the stupid choice to revert it.

I say again. It makes no literal sense that you can repeatedly touch a light till your left/right arm has melted and your chest is badly burnt

+1. Not for the sole reason of enjoying the lamentations of "Furry heresy" but for wanting to see the inevitable lack of reaction when it does get added as a player race down the line and nobody will take much notice if any.

You guys have far too much vested interest in a badly made 2D faux space cooperation game.

I play Arma with a mod that does this, and I love it there.

I'd love it here too, but it should be a really subtle effect, and have an option to disable it. Or maybe an option to change its intensity.

Problem with this. ACEmod does it really badly. It doesn't work properly unless you run Arma on the higher graphics settings and it does become an eyesore after a while, it's not like wearing real tinted glasses where your eyes adjust. It's just an eyestrain.

I think the Do Not Clone topic has taken over this one so I'll put in my two cents on both of the topics at hand

If you find that your CMO role is not being respected then maybe change the way you're acting as the CMO itself, as I usually find that people have no issues listening to the CMO when I do the role. and if I have one or two outliers they are either antags or people who go cryo after 5 minutes or so. The least likely thing that happens is that I'm forced to demote em.

On the DNC issue. How about making this implant of yours just give a warning upon cloning instead of actually preventing it. That way antags can ignore the warning while real people will realize "Uh oh bad idea"
