  • Slime People cost 45 Karma to unlock and play
  • Slime people cannot be cloned
  • Slime people don’t breathe and take no oxygen damage
  • Slime people do not have normal blood and instead bleed water
  • Slime people lack internal organs other than their slime core (serving as their brain)
  • Slime people can regrow lost limbs, but can still break bones

Slime People and YOU

Greetings, esteemed crewmember!

In an effort to encourage inter-species cooperation and workplace efficiency, NanoTrasen has compiled a series of helpful guides on the various species that you may be working with!

(NOTE: If you are a member of the species this guide pertains to, please give it to the nearest crewmember of another species)

This particular guide refers to the species known as the Slime People.

Slime People Naming Schemes

As a result of insurmountable language barriers, traditional Slime People names are completely impossible to translate or pronounce.

Slime people willing to use Galactic Common normally use the standard first and last name formula used by most other species.

Slime People Physiology

Slime People are made up of, for a lack of a better word, transparent jelly, that can come in many different colors. Internally, they possess a simple skeleton made up of hardened slime tissue, as well as a slime core located in their head, which is technically the center of their being. Slime People use vibrations of the slime core to interact with the rest of their tissue to move around and perform other actions.

Slime people often have a layer of specially shaped flesh that resembles hair, styled similarly to that of Humans. They also have the fascinating ability to recolor their body tissue by ingesting chemicals of a given colour.

Slime people don’t have inherent genders, but often assume either a female or male gender to adjust to the culture encountered in most of the galaxy.

The Bubblish Language

Slime People traditionally communicate with a series of bubble-like sounds made by their cores. It’s impossible to use the language unless one is a Slime Person. Direct translation proves incredibly problematic as well, as the language has a very abstract nature. The dialect, still widely used on Xarxis 5 is natural to all Slime People, and every single member of the species is capable of speaking it.

As Slime People were until recently a very primitive species, the language lacks a single, well-defined written representation and many different written forms of it can be encountered on Xarxis 5.

The Slime People Homeworld

Xarxis 5 is a temperate world, with lush plant life, as well as a large amount of native fauna. The planet has a centralized government, but is still occupied by numerous smaller Slime People tribes, which sometimes engage in conflict. Thanks to multiple resource gathering operations performed by Nanotrasen, the world is slowly becoming more civilized, with small towns gradually being constructed to house larger populations of the indigenous species.

Slime people, up until recently, lived in fairly isolated, primitive tribes. With farming being still a rather recent discovery, the civilization was still very far from discovering technologies that would allow space flight.

In the year 2471, a small Nanotrasen probe discovered life in the Xarxis system, and our company quickly rushed to establish communications with the species. Following a few years of diplomatic talks, first towns started being built, funded by Nanotrasen.

Education and employment was provided for thousands of Slime People, laying groundwork for setting up a government capable of ruling the planet, as well as bringing it up to the galactic standards in terms of technology.

Even to this day Nanotrasen continues to invest in Xarxis 5, making the local economy flourish and helping unite the tribes with the local administration.

Slime People Culture

Slime People have developed multiple, vastly different cultures up to the current day. As the tribes were fairly primitive at the time of their discovery, the beliefs are similar to ones often encountered in other paleolithic civilizations.

Slime People beliefs generally revolve around the elements, naming water, fire or the sky as different gods responsible for the creation of the universe. Most of the religions have been phased out, however, as multiple members of the species, exposed to the rest of the galaxy, had their beliefs challenged.

Slime People generally don’t live in families in the classic sense. Larger communities are much more often encountered on Xarxis 5, similar to those of the indigenous tribes. With the culture of other species seeping into the customs of Slime People, though, many of them find it comfortable to live on their own, away from their “tribe”.

Present Day

With the government of the planet still in its early stages, with a basic fleet and a quickly developing economy they’re on their way to becoming a player on the galactic arena. With the help of Nanotrasen, they were able to drastically improve the quality of life on Xarxis 5.

Still, many Slime People choose to leave Xarxis 5, trying to find a better life for themselves somewhere else in the galaxy.

Remember, crewmember, mutual respect and cooperation are the cornerstones of success and productivity!
