The number of times I've watched SSD people slowly dying through the crew monitor, to toxins and oxyloss, without being able to stop it because they're in cryo, it can be a lot of needless extra work to keep someone alive and THEN taking them to cryo, provided they're not teleported to cryo mid treatment, only for them to die again, which I think closes their job slot too, is not the best thing ever.
