Basicly, same as the one from /tg/ station, but different. Its second module will just let it yell "Human Harm!", like security borg can.peace_borg.png.85b547bde2688e1f1a87de2e6b5e0fed.png

Maybe change cookie synthesizer to make warm donk pocket at the start, or with separate upgrade.
And for emagged borg, add electric hand and "Affection" module dealing massive stamina damage, acting like hugging module.

Because it isn't useful.

Personally I'm of the mindset that the janiborgs and service borgs should be combined, while changing the service borg cartons, to an actual dispenser, so they can make more drinks.

Not being useful is one thing. Janitor borgs and service borgs fill a theme that fits within the game.

Peacekeepers borgs are obnoxious and largely just treated as literal memes. They don't contribute to the roleplaying environment... And they aren't useful.

Not to mention their sprites look like someone put humpty dumpty back together again and shipped him through a time machine where they were experimented on by scientists.

But their entire reason for to be is to role-play and be somewhat of a robo-psych/robo-bro, and it didn't seemed to me, that here were any sort of meme about "Peacekeeper" borgs . Clown also is a meme and generally useless to the crew, according to that logic. They meant for the people that like to socialise and RP in the game, from mechanical stand point, service borg are too useless.

About the sprite, that not a real argument, when it comes to deciding, if it should be added, it just your opinion. And in my opinion, it fits their nature of being safe, round cushion for people, when there are some tension in the room. We should more focus on their uses on the server. As for being "obnoxious", well take away "Human harm" module, fine, if you think that all what people gonna use it for is to annoy everyone, because it's clearly what people do with any other intrusive type like security borgs, who spam "Halt!" all day long...

I don't think you were around when peacekeepers borgs were on Paradise, or you didn't pay attention that well. The majority of the player base despised the things, myself included. They didn't act like a 'robo-psych' or a 'robo-bro' as you put it--and frankly, those functions could very well fit the service module quite well.

They fit well for a place like /tg/ and their environment. They do not mesh well with us.

Clowns and mimes also have a specific niche within SS13 itself. They also aren't bound by laws or other requirements. They also make much more sense, lore wise, than eggbots that spam a harm alarm and run in circles.

As for the sprites, it is very relevant. How something looks will often determine how someone interacts with it, whether they're the ones playing it or not. The sprites themselves are very detailed and well made... but they also construe that it's a rolling egg with arms and neko cat ears. What do you interpret that to be, exactly? How would you interact with something like that?

Where did you even saw neko ears lol. Its just an eggbot with 4 legs with wheels, those things on the head are just hemispheres. Its made that way to be very safe to hadnle if someone would choose to punch it and they wont get stuck inside wires or just break their arm. Its more like Portal Turret friendly cousin.

Clown and mime's niche is to be a nuisance, judging from my experience, and they also do run in circles, honk and drop bananas or invisible walls during code red.

But since few admins already disagree with the idea, i guess it's not gonna happen. Bye!

You're getting hung up on one detail I pointed out, when I was painting a more general picture with that statement. It looks nothing like something I'd consider to be in any sort of 'peacekeeper' field. At best, it looks like the unfortunate offspring of Wall-E and Eve. With cat ears.

I also have no idea what you're trying to get at with the second half of this statement. Every cyborg chassis is durable against the basic human fist... and I don't see how wires even come into play. Peacekeepers don't appear to be made of anything particularly different than the other modules. A fist colliding with one would probably still hurt the attacker quite a bit if they used enough force.

The difference is that clowns and mimes purpose is to be funny comic relief. They aren't tasked with keeping people safe, keeping people calm or following AI laws.

The peacekeeper borg module, however, has all three of those requirements. Yet, they don't really have a real clear purpose. Their modules don't enable them to really do anything useful in any any capacity--not just as far as their own module goes--outside of being a nuisance in just about any given scenario. So that's exactly what they did, and I don't see any way of changing that.

This issue is quantified by the presence of security cyborgs on Paradise, which already fill the role of 'peacekeeping' quite well. I won't dig too far into security modules, as that's another topic and debate, but it just makes peacekeepers borgs far more pointless to have here as it stands.

Main argument used by the oldest players here is that peacekeeper borg is SO COOL in theory, but in practice it..

Doesn't. Work. The Peacekeeper borg doesn't work in practice, just like Devil gamemode (always leads to self-antagging) or nations (always led to game rules-related ahelps). Or even super heroes (that require some good degree of RP that doesn't happens). Maybe if someday we could all achieve a mind where we have the actual capacity of actually treating peacekeepers like what they are, then, only then we'd be accepting him into the game officially..

original peacekeeper borg also looks awesome(once again, in theory), i'd totally have him ported to paradise 😛
