Brief description (tl;dr here. Just the critical elements): Banned from playing Sec after Admin power abuse

Full description of events: So I joined the round a little late and Sec was greenlisted as high-priority, and since my job of choice was taken I picked it up to help the one other guard on shift. Cultists and some guy with an e-sword were causing a ruckus so the armory was opened up so we could grab shotguns. Which I did. I was able to confiscate 2 weapons of magical origin from 2 men I believed to be cultists due to clothing and walking around with swords. One admitted to being a cultist in interrogation and said all of cargo was a part of his cult (my partner's name in the interrogation was Carlton Moon or something like that).

Now I can't specifically recall what led me to go down the hallway the Medbay, Bar, Foodcourt etc. etc. is located in but I was responding to an emergency in that area. When I entered the hall there was blood and bodies everywhere and 2 hooded figures ran past me. I assessed the damage and attempted to follow them although I had completely lost them in the panic at that point, until I found them next to the pool/holodeck area. I examined them and noticed both had what I believed were cult weapons and attire (now, I will say again that I do not normally play Sec - I do not know what the fuck cult weapons or attire really looks like but from the brief description 'examine' gave me, the 2 weapons I had already confiscated from 2 cultists, the fact they were miners which I associated them being a part of cargo, and they had just ran from the scene of a crime all of security had been alerted to - I decided they had cult weapons and attire). 

So, I tell them to drop their weapons. One gets up and walks toward me swinging his weapon. I still have my shotgun fully loaded with non-lethal rounds. I drop him after he or his partner get me a couple times. When he is on the floor I attempt to handcuff but his partner attacks me and starts running with his body towards med-bay. 

Keep in mind I was using non-lethal rounds, while they were swinging very lethal melee weapons at me. So now they had fleed the scene of a crime, resisted arrest, and assaulted an officer with deadly force. That was when I loaded up my shotgun with buckshot and went after them. Now maybe you can say here that's an excessive use of force, but my reasoning was that I was unable to deal with 2 at the same time with non-lethal while they were trying to kill me and knew full well they would be able to recover given the fact I knew they were running for medbay since I had lit them up with a full shotgun of non-lethal. Anyways, continuing - 

I find them in medbay, one had put the other in a sleeper so I attempted to arrest one of them. Instead they start swinging weapons and I'm being hurt badly so I start firing. I wasn't even able to put one of them down before I was put into CRIT - hell I'm not sure I was even able to empty the shotgun. From the holodeck/pool area to med-bay, this all took place over the course of about 1 to 2 minutes.

This is where the admin messages me being incredibly rude and condescending - I explained the situation and asked why an admin is even questioning me in the first place since I was certainly not griefing or trolling them. They had attacked me first with deadly weapons, ran from the scene of a crime, resisted arrest twice while all I had done was MAYBE use excessive force - something that should be addressed by in-game laws NOT by server rules especially since it was clear I was not griefing them. The admin continued to call me a liar, mix up the sequence of events to favor my attackers and subsequently ban me from playing Sec, which again, isn't even my job of choice and was only playing to help the server/station with balance. Hell, this was actually only my 2nd time playing Sec and I don't even really give a shit about the ban. I do care about the server though, and I strongly believe this admin has abused their power in dealing with a situation they should have never even had a hand in.

Now why would this abuse take place? One guess is, the 2 people who attacked me play on the server everyday and it seemed like the admin was playing favorites or possibly even meta-gaming with these 2 people (hell one of them might even be Abydos) and instead of dealing with this situation IC in-game, this admin straight up banned me. I only guess this since what had taken place was so far removed from griefing or trolling in any way that the admin must have had some personal attachment to the situation.

At the end of the day, I was the one who was griefed. I was arrested and carried around for the entire rest of the round, called a liar and received a ban from playing sec.

I'm hardly interested in getting the ban lifted, as I've made countless errors by in-game law in other occupations that nobody bats an eye at but one small error (which I think is still up to debate since I was being attacked) while playing Sec gets wrongfully scrutinized by admins instead of IC. 

Anyways, thanks for reading. I think I will be taking a break from the server as I don't want my time wasted by admins abusing power in situations they should have never even been a part of, but I will return because Paradise is my favorite server and I wish it the best. 

P.S. Is the flavor text 'face as wrinkly as your moms balls' really inappropriate? I'm not sure anyone would consider that ERP and it's hardly any more, if at all, vulgar than the first server rule.

Witholding your ckey is a bad idea, for several reasons:

• The appeals template requires you to post your ckey. No excuses.
• Admins can still find your ckey even if you try to withold it. It would probably only take us a couple of minutes of searching the logs. Hiding your ckey doesn't stop us obtaining it, it just requires us to do unnecessary extra work to examine your case. One admin has informed me that it took them all of 15 seconds to uncover your ckey despite your attempts to hide it.

I advise you edit your case to include your ckey.

Also, I'm advising you:

• This is not the right place to appeal your ban. If you wish to dispute a ban, you need to do a ban appeal, not an admin complaint. You should not try to skip the appeal process and jump straight to complaint. Ban appeals have a >50% success rate. Admin complaints have a <10% success rate. You have a much better shot with an appeal than you do with a complaint.
• Trying to evade a ban using a new account will result in your new account being banned, and make it much harder (read: extremely difficult) to get your original ban(s) reversed in future. Essentially, if you ban evade, regardless of how justified you think you are, you're probably never going to be allowed to play on Paradise again.
• When making an appeal, you should quote the exact messages, if possible, not just paraphrase.

Who you are is extremely important.

We have to know who you are in order to look at the logs of the conversation between you and the admin.

If you're not willing to tell us, yeah, we can probably find out anyway - but you're making investigating this harder than it has to be.

You're also violating the guidelines of this forum by attempting to skip straight to admin complaint without first doing a ban appeal for your ban.

We have the guidelines we have for a reason.

Typically, because we want to be able to investigate properly.

Since you appear determined to ignore the guidelines, I'm just going to dismiss this complaint as without merit.

If you have an issue with a ban you've been given, you need to do a ban appeal first, not a complaint. When doing a ban appeal, you MUST follow the template.

If the ban appeal is rejected, at THAT point you can do a complaint, again, following the relevant template.

You can't skip the step of doing a ban appeal and jump straight to complaint.
Nor can you expect a positive result from an appeal or complaint if you're not even willing to follow the format that we clearly state is required.

I'll first start off with the full ban reason that you've neglected to put.

It was not a cultist round, there were no cultists. Security never reported any cultists happening, it was Syndicate Traitor + Changelings. There was talk about it, but the miners clearly stated that the robes were from Lavaland which is a legit drop, and Security was busy with Syndicate Traitors. The only person calling out Cult was yourself.

Again, this is untrue. They were miners, only carrying mining equipment / weapons (Which they are allowed to carry as part of their job).

From theses logs, you were ordering miners to drop equipment that was legal for them to have. When they told you no, since they are miners, you then opened up on them wordlessly.. also, take a look within the logs. You shot 1 non-lethal round into the two players.. and then the rest of the shots were LETHAL. You straight up murdered someone for nothing. You then started harm-batoning them when they healed themselves and did self-defense from your MURDER attempts.

The only wrong doing I will admit, is getting one side of the story wrong regards to some ahelps.. ahelps made it out as if him shotgunning people had hit medical doctors and his attack logs were very big. Looking through the logs, I can see that side of it was a mistake.

Everything else however is shown within the logs and I dispute this claim of admin power abuse.
