SUPER BIG DISCLAIMER
This R&D guide contains an edited version of 'Meex's guide to R&D in 10 minutes or less'.
@Xantholne made the forum post originally, and this is just a version that i use for my own convenience. (And whoever else is reading this because i posted it)

This version has also been updated to adapt to the removal of telescience.

To do R&D, you input all the things listed below. From top to bottom.
Basic R&D items do not require materials other than Metal and Glass. There is a stack of both in R&D at roundstart. If that's unavailable, there's also a stack of both in Sci/Chem.

PROTIP: You can use the CTRL + F Browser search function to look for a specific item, or specific tech orgin. (For example writing (Power: 4), into the browser search will find items with that tech orgin.

ADVANCED R&D
Each category shows items you need to deconstruct in order to get tech levels to 7.
Advanced R&D items require advanced materials from Mining to complete. (Gold, Silver, Uranium, Solid Plasma, Diamond, Titanium, Bluespace Polycrystals, etc...) All materials are obtained from the Ore Redeption Machine (ORM for short) in Mining.
Most categories may have multiple ways to achieve level 7's.
The advanced R&D guide was made by me, this time. (With the help of @BeanOS.)
Items colored Emerald require items from Botany. I hope you upgraded their equipment prior.
Items colored Amethyst require items from Xenobio. Someone did do Xenobio this shift, right? Riiiiight?
Items colored Orange require items from Mining. Better hope all the miners are still alive.
Items colored Bright Blue require items from Command. The only one being the Chain of Command. Ask the Captain and he'll get it for you. If he says no, he's a comdom.
When inserting materials into the Destructive Analyzer, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, USE ONLY ONE PEICE. YOU'LL FUCKING WASTE THE WHOLE STACK OTHERWISE!!! Inserting a whole stack of materials into the Destructive Analyzer will only use up a single peice from that stack. Still, it's less confusing to just take out a single peice from the stack and then jam it in.
For the Mining Jetpack, it has to be a Mining Jetpack specifically. It can't be any other jetpack. No. The CO2 jetpack from EVA won't do.

TOXINS GUIDE
Getting levels in Toxins is done differently then placing specific items into the Destructive Analyzer.
In Science, there is an area called the Toxins Test Range. In the Launch Room of the Toxins Test range, there's the Tachyon-Doppler Array, wich has a random target value each shift.
In order to get Toxins tech levels, you need to trigger and explosion in the Toxins Test Range with the same/close enough strength as the target value.
It is assumed that you perform Toxins using TTV-based bombs. Meddling with oxygen and plasma however i find confusing, so i preffer to use Chemical-based bombs. (Aka. Black Powder)
Let's learn how to make Black Powder bombs for use in the Test Range.

Spoiler

Step 1. Go to Sci/Chem.
Step 2. Grab a Large Beaker, we'll call it Beaker A.
Step 3. Mix 15u of Sodium Chloride into Beaker A.
Step 4. Add 15u of Ash into Beaker A.
Step 5. Eject Beaker A from the Chem Dispenser. Grab a Welding Tool/Lighter/Igniter and use it on Beaker A repeatedly until it says 'The mixture yields a fine black powder.'
Step 6. Set Beaker A aside for now. Grab another Large Beaker, we'll call it Beaker B.
Step 7. Mix 30u of Saltpetre in Beaker B.
Step 8. Add 30u of Sulfur into Beaker B.
Step 9. Pour everything from Beaker B to Beaker A. You now have 90u of Black Powder.
Depending on the Tachyon-Doppler array's target, you will need different amounts of Black Powder in your bomb. We can determine how much we need with the power of math. @Jazz is the one who originaly posted forumla, so credit goes to him.
Let's say the target is 17.
17 multiplied by 20 is 340.
This means we need a total 340u of Black Powder in the bomb to reach the target value. Yikes.
Wihout using Bluespace Beakers (Researched in R&D), we cannot have this large amount in the bomb. The maximum we can do wíth Large Beakers is 200u, each beaker holding 100u with the bomb being able to hold maximum 2 beakers.
If you do, however have Bluespace Beakers, rejoice! As each Bluespace Beaker can hold 300u. Simply just make more Black Powder until you have enough. (340u)
Let's say we however do not have Bluespace Beakers, we use Large Beakers instead. We'll fill both beakers with 100u of Black Powder.
You should now have:
1 Igniter, 2 Remote-Signalling devices, 1 Pyro Grenade Casing and 2 Large Beakers with 100u of Black Powder each.
Step 1. Make sure the Remote-Signalling devices have the same code and frequency, and their recievers are on.
Step 2. Use a screwdriver on the igniter and one of the Remote-Signalling devices.
Step 3. Combine the igniter and the Remote-signalling device to create an assembly.
Step 4. Use a screwdriver on the assembly.
Step 5. Use the assembly on the Pyro grenade casing to create a bomb casing.
Step 6. Use both beakers on the bomb assembly.
Step 7. Use a screwdriver on the bomb assembly to finish it. The bomb is now done.
We're working with a bomb that could probably wreck a big part of the station, so handle it with care!
Now that you have your bomb, pocket both the bomb and signaller. Because it's time to send it to the test range.
Step 1. Go to the toxins launch room with your bomb and signaller.
Step 2. Place your bomb on the Mass Driver.
Step 3. Before lauching the bomb, check if there are any Space Koi or anything else blocking the mass driver. If there are, then it would be possible for the bomb to get blocked and not land in the Toxins Test Range. This is very bad.
Step 4. After checking clearance, press the mass driver button and watch it go.
Step 5. Check the Test Chamber Telescreen to see if the bomb is in the Test Range safely.
Step 6. Before detonating, say something along the lines of 'Toxins Test.' over common. Otherwise, people will get spooked by what the heck just exploded.
Step 7. Use the signaller to send the signal, and watch the fireworks.
Step 8. The Tachyon-Doppler array will say something along the lines of "Target (17) missed by : 4."
Step 9. Grab a tech disk and use it on the Tachyon-Doppler array.
Step 10. You now have a tech disk with Toxins levels on it. This is what we were going for all along.
Step 11. Take the disk to R&D and jam it into the R&D console.
Step 12. In the R&D console, go to Main Menu > Disk Operations and click Upload to Database.
Good job! You just did Toxins with the power of Chemistry. If you didn't blow up anything other than the Toxins Test Range, or let anything else bad happen, give yourself a pat on the back.

Personally, I like to group them so that I am doing all the protolathe things first, then the circuit imprinter after, and space them out into groups that I can print at a time, so less time is wasted going back and fourth.

Yeah, that's more efficient, i got it in a similiare fashion, but a bit more distributed on each of the eight segments.

You forgot the Machine Board (MRSPACMAN-type Generator) by the way.

Sorry, didn't realize I was using my mismatched notes, I use chem dispenser for plasma & materials 5, didn't even know MRSPACMAN-type Generator was even a thing.

Not sure if i'll use this more organized approach, since i've already color-coded department specific items, can't be fucked to redo the icons, and i'm just used to the layout i have.
Still, is nice.

I'm late to the party, but I thought it worth mentioning that the CE's jetpack IS confirmed to be deconstructable for Engineering 6, it's there at the start of the shift and not an objective for traitors, so it's good for speed if Cargo is having trouble and typically won't get you too many stares.

Also, the super hard disk drive will advance both Data and Engineering levels. You can just print one of those instead of a holographic sign projector and mining drill to up the levels simultaneously.

I think it'd be good to mention strange objects, too : Any strange object can have tech levels from 1 (or 2?) to 5, meaning that you should absolutely discover all the ones brought to rnd, check their tech levels, and you might get a couple of free 6s after you reached all fives.

This is not a thing. Strange objects always have tech levels 1 of combat, data theory, electro mag, and power manipulation. I believe it's these four, I might be wrong, but it's only level 1.

They have to be discovered to have their special tech levels
