  1. The best thing about the SM is that you can power it by throwing people into it...
  2. I honestly prefer the SM, I think its cooler and less of a hassle, and its not even that complicated to set up (just read the damn manual Jesus). Sure its a bit bland feature wise but that's just a minor let down.
  3. If what you're planning to do helps with your objectives in some way you usually get away with it, but not always, if two or three victims throw a player complaint you're gonna get bwoinked for an explanation regardless of circumstances. With things like mass bombing or gassing the station its always better to ahelp first to let the admins know what you're planning so they know you're not just griefing, 99% of the time they won't have a problem with it, and when they do its usually because its OTT or lag inducing, you just have to bear in mind whether or not you're being "excessive" in taking people out of the round.
  4. Part of the reason most servers don't allow ERP is because of the legal problems, what with minors inevitably getting into the playerbase and all, its a headache admins really don't want to suffer.
  5. Usually topping out at around 50 ish players at peak times. Doesn't have the same charm as 80 (lot more difficult to "get lost"), but strangely more work gets done. Greytide can be a pain but anything's better than a skeletal station IMO, which is what the server usually is outside of weekends/evenings (at least in my time-zone).
  6. As in a power jammer, a box like device that shut off the electricity in a certain radius around it for a short while( think: mini power sink, maybe 4-12 squares for 30 seconds or so with a time delay to activate?) Like in the black out random event but on a localized scale. Obviously it'd be very potent (switching off all the lights nearby? great for losing pursuit, no idea what to price it at in crystals though), but a viable alternative to emagging everything, probably with limited uses or a really long cool down for balancing. On that note: a radio jammer would be cool too, far too often are fights over in 10 seconds when someone yells "halp bein killed", specialized gear like this would allow traitors to be more... well, specialized : too , after all, the emag is much more than just a masterkey but that's what its usually used for.
  7. Malfunctioning drones using the crew as spare parts would be even funner.
  8. The borg at least is useful, doing things like shutting off the engine and messing with airlocks, but the xeno AI just doesn't... do anything. I imagine there are probably plans to expand its role but until it actually has one probably best to just scrap it.
  9. Making the DNA lock require a blood sample or something would be a nice way of getting rid of the joyriding civilians who always grand theft auto any ripley not locked up at the mining station;
  10. Makes perfect sense. Would be great if they got an office and a pet raven though...
  11. The stun baton without the nerf is pretty much a win stick if the person you hit isn't a changeling/wizard.
  12. Just give the chef morgue access by default, what could possibly go wrong?
  13. Not if they're smart and just de power the containment field
  14. Its name must be Caerbannog.
  15. Clowns start the game with clumsy "clown gene" SE's that make guns blow up their faces when used, the mime could start with a muteness gene.
  16. I think the main difference would be rescue techs (surprise! ) saving people (or rather, their mangled corpses), and the atmos techs fixing the damage/putting the fire out for good.
  17. Yeah, the plan WAS to just knock everyone out, laser the humans, and run off, that was after subverting the AI failed due to it being SSD and the borgs being blown. But apparently N20 is flammable, I got caught in it then saw a bunch of folks safe and sound within the escape airlocks, they all saw me dragging in the sleepy gas so without really thinking I used the emergency bomb I was carrying. Didn't end well, so many gibs
  18. So I had the traitor objective to prevent any humans from escaping on the shuttle, naturally, everything went horribly wrong.
  19. Fill it with mindbreaker, be the chemist the station deserves.
  20. I remember an admin event during an extended round a while ago where a Grey trade ship smuggled some borers aboard, I spawned in as one, and although we purposely didn't reproduce or even act antaggy anarchy still ensured as everyone went batshit insane at the prospect of no more than 4 brain slugs being aboard. Its a great idea for a gamemode, but unfortunately in practice its just not suitable for the playerbase.
  21. Mime's voice box, Clown's funny bone, Civillian's greyshirt gland?
  22. Most of the blueshields I've seen inevitably end up being super cop, med sun glasses to lure them away from the sec HuDs can only be a good thing.
  23. Not a tip to actually stay alive, but a great way to die is to be a scientist with a voice activated max cap transfer valve bomb in your back pack. Its great for dealing with ninjas.
  24. Everybody knows that Tarajan are space rats.
  25. Alternatively, be lazy and bug robotics for three syringe guns, then analyse a diona nymph, and you can get up to level 7. The syringe guns are seen by some as a bit gamey but it just saves so much acid in the short term
