  2. I think the system works good as it is. I wouldn't necessarily consider it arbitrary. It promotes people to try to do things that are interesting and new. It promotes interaction. If you have an interesting interactions with people and do interesting things you will get karma regularly. If you keep to yourself and play this game like it's a solo game you and just go through the motions doing your job without any noticeable interaction you will not. Just try to be interesting and helpful and you'll get karma.

She never started smoking until she worked security on the NSS Cyberiad. It started with randomly bumming a smoke on the shuttle ride at the end of a long shift, that then became a planned ritual every round, it eventually turned into chain smoking. Its almost a necessary painkiller and stress reliever for working security on this station. #seclife#whydoweneedmorehashtags
  5. Okay so I'm nowhere near done looking at all these but had to stop for this one. I love your style in general, my fav so far is how you draw slime people, but this one just stands out. The text spam the AI receives showing on the screen is ao fantastic and probably something every AI can relate to LMAO

  7. Maybe it does need to be written somewhere but I think that attacking a member of security whether with the intent to disable or kill them when in perma counts as attempting to escape. Because if backup it doesn't arrive, it's not like the prisoners just intend to kill the person just for the hell of it and then stay there. I do see what you mean though. It feels like there's a lot of gray area with how security is supposed to handle things and worrying about OOC consequences makes it that much more difficult.

  9. +1 here I do tend to throw prisoners in solitary if they break into that room. Tho 9/10 times when someone breaks into that room they're going to make a strong effort to break out of solitary as well... so you are almost better off executing them...especially if security is busy and doesn't have time to babysit. But I would never OOCly punish security for executing someone who broke into that little room regardless of context. IC issue as far as I'm concerned. With the situation where the prisoners nearly killed the warden, those prisoners are now viable to be executed based on the fact that they attempted to kill the warden. Whether or not they escaped is irrelevant. If the magistrate, captain, or HOS approve it of course. IC issue again. As with everything context and intent matters. I would hope that any admins online at the time would take that into consideration when deciding if any OOC intervention is required. As always if you are worried about getting bwoinked for whatever course of action you are planning to take you CAN always ahelp it to be safe.

  11. This line made me laugh so heartily I startled my dog My greatest horror story in security is kind of the opposite. When I'm HOS I don't mind having a bad Warden because I can get rid of them and replace them fairly easily. What I HATE is when I'm like "Not in the mood for HOS right now. Yup...I'm gonna set Warden to high and just hang out managing the brig" It's probably my favorite thing to do in this game. Except there's one catch. I'm fully aware that I'm blindly going in having no idea what I'm getting as a HOS. Knowing that if there is no HOS or a bad HOS that it will eventually disrupt my serenity. My favorite rounds ever are when I get to be the warden for a HOS like Cherry I have a similar thread from YEARS ago I posted in a similar thread telling some of the stories of me as noob security and a few interesting stories I entitled "Tales from Shitcurity" I'm at very least sharing THIS one here because its my favorite...I call this one "The Pimp Warden" I also understand that a higher playtime limit will HELP reduce the number of bad HOS and Warden but I seriously think we could raise the cap of HOS to 100 hours and it still wouldn't be enough for some people. ...but anything helps.

  13. She is tho. There are many OG sec. Cecilia is THE OG sec. I'd be mortified if anyone ever put Tetra over Cecilia. I feel like working with Cecilia and watching Cecilia work is part of what drives many sec mains to be sec mains. Myself included. As Nat said, Ceci is THE veteran HOS.

As someone who was once addicted to nicotine IRL, I'd say the current effects of nicotine addiction, including the feeling like you're dying, are quite accurate... for a regular smoker, but not necessarily a casual smoker. Given that the game isn't persistent and the rounds are only 2 hours long I don't know if it's realistic to ask to decipher a difference between the two. The point of lack of persistence is also relevant when it comes to the effects and quickness of being addicted to anything else in the game as well. While it seems absurd to become addicted to a substance after consuming it only once or twice when comparing it to real life, real life does not exist in 2 hour increments. The effects of the addictions could be more accurate if they were individually tailored to each addiction (IE having a coughing fit from smoking that slows you down rather than feeling tired...which from an RP perspective can be the same thing...) but I'm pretty sure that as of right now the effects of addiction just fall under one umbrella regardless of what you are addicted to. If someone has the skill and ambition to code individual effects for each addiction, go for it. The rest of us will have to use our imaginations.
