  1. How does the Robotics SOP handle the creation of mech equipment for Research and Development? Do scientists have to go through the Captain/HoS to get the okay to destructive analyze mech weaponry? Does this mean that RnD is bound by SOP to get research up manually by actually the doing the job alone? (Which I think makes RnD more fun even if it does get more tedious) Considering the significant boost in research the exosuit equipment can have, will this be reflected in the current alert level of the station? For instance, Code Green/Blue requires a scientist to do work on Research without the use of mech equipment and Code Red gives the exception of using equipment to help raise research levels as quickly as possible. Or is this decision ultimately left up to Robotics because it would expend their own resources? When taking this into account I also think it's important to understand that RnD tends to be neglected on slower rounds, so an RD may just throw in mech equipment to boost levels and breeze through research.
  2. Well maybe be able to target which limb you slice open? Because seeing a wall of red text consisting of bruises is kind of concerning. Or maybe being able to hide them under clothes or something? I just think there should be a way around all of the bruises. Because they can raise IC concern for medical reasons, or lead to subconcious metagaming
  3. I think that cults have it really hard considering they're always all cut up, which in a way can lead to people subconciously thinking they're a cultist. Perhaps we should consider removing the visual injury messages from the examine screen
  4. Actually, getting Nanopaste and PACMAN boards from the protolathe and circuit printer are easy, I only print out circuits after I've upgraded the machines to pico manips and super matter bins, this way I don't waste acid.
  5. I think so. I'm just fed up with power-gamish tactics when I just want to do research
  6. My whole point here is that while the help from robotics is good, it defeats the purpose of actually doing research for those who actuallywant to do it. That's what I dislike. I just think that roboticists shouldn't have access to it because they are then entitled to cramming shit into the DA
  7. If robotics doesn't do that, the scientists do. Syringe guns + tasers are very popular ways to boost science. Yeah I think you're right, but when I play research I personally like to do it Au natural and without Robotics aid (except for wormhole) and I just hate when robotics runs in with armfulls of stuff ruining the fun
  8. Well from all of the rounds I've played over the past few weeks (while it hasn't been a lot) most roboticists just come in and start cramming things into the DA
  9. I think that Roboticists should not have access to RnD anymore seeing as they only go in there, cram things into the DA, and get in the way. Also, I think that having them walk in and trying to coerce scientists into using their parts (except for the wormhole generator) is kind of power-gamey and kind of defeats the purpose of playing research. I think that robotics items should be reserved for emergencies seeing as they waste more resources (however I don't think as a rule this is enforceable at all, I just think that there is no reason for them to be in RnD)
  10. Back in highschool I had a group of friends who would play 2nd Edition DnD with my one friend's dad as the DM. Our DM was awesome, and had played since he was in college, which made it a GREAT roleplay experience for us and we had a ton of fun. I make my character - A human cleric of the diety Tyr, the god of justice. We played for a good while. I became the judge of the group and countless times would have the final say on what we do with the bandits we just captured. I remember one time we came across some goblins or bandits who had just killed a caravan, and I made a wicked roll on my Hold Person spell, which held them both. We subdued them and I issued the sentencing: Hanging for their crimes of murder and theft. We had a really strong party and cleared dungeons and had a ton of fun. Some stupid things happen, like one of our warriors clad in all metal decided to touch a 'faintly glowing brass statue' and got the entire group chain-lightning shocked. He was basically vaporized. That was also the same place we figured out how dangerous slimes truly are. One of the best moments from our group was when we were placed into a crystal maze, told we had a limited time to make it out. This maze was very long and was super complicated. For some odd reason I just randomly grabbed my sword and started carving into the crystal wall. Turns out, I carved the secret word (which was an x) and a door opened up to the end of the maze. My group had its fair share of stupidity. There's always that person who thinks that violence is the best option, and gets us into a fight with a super high level that we had no need to fight, nearly killing everyone. Or the time where we were attacked by 3 beholders. These things were destroying us quickly. Turns out, they were all illusions and when one of us said "I disbelieve" they disappeared. I have so many fun stories from this campaign. I really miss the tabletop days. Also, sorry for crappy formatting.
  11. I will try not to! no promises, however.
  12. Hello fellow crew members! I mostly play the IC character Brick Mortland (the one with the blonde afro) who mostly dabbles in Science. However he's seen work in most place and is very open to learning new roles. I've played on Paradise for a few weeks now and can happily say I enjoy the community very much! I'm glad to be working, and roleplaying, with all of you! Feel free to ask questions
