  1. Very often, traitors are easily recognised by their character, hair, and other distinguishing characteristics, which makes it harder to hide. This is a bigger issue for well established characters, where almost everyone knows how they look, making identifying them easy peasy even if they wear disguises. This item would allow to bring up the mirror menu anywhere (i guess its worth 1tc? also non contraband? Probably would be a good item to add to maint loot tables too), allowing to edit the hair and color, just like in any other mirror. This doesn't force the antagonist to go to a very exposed and dangerous locations like the barber shop, and helps keeping up the disguise.

  2. Security story time! This took place recently. You'd think Nanotrasen deals with their prisoners ethically? Maybe, maybe not, but I doubt that you've heard the suspected baddies subjected to this type of torment.

  5. Hello! My ckey is LordShekelstein and I play all varieties of Toob-. It's very likely if you've seen anything with a Toob sound, it's me. I play pretty well everything semi-regularly besides the dreaded science. I've been playing for around... 2-ish years and have amassed about 1.1k hours. I love this server, and have been semi-active on the forum and yet I've only just stumbled upon this thread. My blood type is AB+ and my social security number is 1015814239311. Have fun . So uh, here's for late introductions I suppose. And most importantly, WHAZAAAAAP.

  6. I've been bandying this idea around a bit, I know similar ideas have come up in terms of a one-time-event, but I thought it'd be worth fleshing out into a station goal: The basic Idea is that the goal requires the creation of as much food/drink as possible, of any kind. The intent is to have a station goal that changes things up, and doesn't require engineers (though they can help, of course!), and involves more of the crew: namely botany, chef, bartender, and even greytide going ham on the garden, maint pizzeria, etc. Humanitarian Mission A relatively nearby planet is experiencing drought and crop failure, and thus is having a major food shortage: NT will be sending a special refrigerated cargo shuttle to the station for the crew to load down with as much food and drink as they can prepare. The people of the planet will be sending back local goods as thank you (the more food, the more goods! Similar loot to a Sol Trader, minus any food or beverage things of course). It will dock at the public docks, not the cargo bay, and the shuttle will take scheduled trips (so you can play around with the loot you get, and can join in even later round). Variations: Refrigerated shuttle too much of a pain to code? Instead CC sends (via cargo, like the other station goals) a simple to set up teleporter device that transports the food and drink where its needed, and in return generates points that can be spent on rewards from CC, or it could allow for packages sent from the planet with drought and crop failure containing goods along the lines of the Sol Trader goods as said above. Rewards could also include things like rare seeds or powerful plant data discs, or even unique crop seeds from said alien world (I have a whole bunch of ideas of random special plants that could be created, unique to this goal's rewards)

  8. I started off strongly against this, before I thought over what "huge" weapons the crew and crew antags have access to, which would be the fire axe, chainsaw, and combat shotgun (The combat shotgun being huge whilst the bulldog shotgun is normal sized seems to violate physics somehow, but whatever). Being able to store and hide those items can be very useful and help people avoid murderboning (Good luck avoiding nasty encounters with secuurity when you've got a chainsaw in your hands), but the loss wouldn't be very strongly felt in a wide majority of rounds. I'd still advocate for making huge items take up more space instead of removing them from the BoH entirely, but I could accept the loss.

  9. I feel like a lot of players just ignore crewsimov and act as normal people instead. If the clown asks you to open the captain's office (With spare ID and NAD inside) and noone immediately contradicts him, you are compelled to open the office, instead of delaying, asking for a second opinion or outright refusing him. In general, AIs and borgs should play around following their laws, instead of trying to defeat all evil and be the hero of the day.

  15. I've already spoken about this on another post asking about hiero re-introduction, as well as a quick PR I made about it. If hiero was to be reintroduced, I still think It'd need a major nerf on its crusher trophy ability. The wall stays up for about seven seconds, letting you completely box megafauna in and kill them without much trouble. The Drake's breath going through it would be a good addition to that. Alternatively, if the wall had a max HP, and would break after taking a certain amount of punishment, that could be alright, too.

  16. Bold to assume people don't like alcohol during times of hardship, or to celebrate being helped. Jokes aside, you make a good point about drinks, and I have to agree replacing it with medicines would be the way to go.

  17. Agreed. Very nice idea. I would like this added and not just as a traitor item. Also, I had no idea you could change your appearance at mirrors. I have learned something new and cool.

  18. I for one really like this idea. A kind of neutered DNA scrambler. I would even go as far to say this could just be an item available to barbers naturally; maybe even be able to craft a scuffed version from glass, metal, and wire, which has a chance to shatter in your hand and cause massive bleeding. To reiterate, this is a super cool idea and I'd absolutely love to see something like this in-game.

  23. I quite like this, but I agree with @Charliminator, have it also include x amount of basic medicine, so: x pills of y salbutamol, x bags of y saline, etc. That feels a bit more humanitarian aid-y and it includes more departments. All in all, great idea though.

  24. all ideas here are good except the drink idea. drinks can just be printed for basically nothing and, I doubt people would want cocktails mid famine. Instead, I suggest providing medicine. All the basic stuff and maybe a couple of specialised chems, perhaps the chems required/amounts should be semi random, pulling from a list of all possibilities, to keep the goal fresh.

  26. This is an idea I've had in the back of my head for a while (and one I'd be willing to code). What: Whenever a mob spawner pops up in game, terrors/swarmers/blob, it always has a popup icon in the top right of the screen indicating that the mob/antag is available. What I'm proposing is to add that same feature to karma giving and server polls (escape shuttle, next map). With the server poll icon showing up for 30 seconds upon a poll being opened and the karma giving icon show up upon the shuttle leaving or the round end(as with blob/nukies gamemodes). When you click on the popup, it opens up the menu to give karma or opens up the voting menu for a server poll. Why: It is extremely easy to forget to give karma at the end of the round. While I don't think it is absolutely necessary to give out karma each round it probably should be given out a bit more than it is. This may also help people get into the habit of giving karma as they'll become more aware of their ability to give it out. This also will help spread out karma to players who may not often(or ever) be in the central purview of deadchat during a round. As for server polls. Chatlog spams can happen. As an admin it's extraordinarily bad if I don't turn my attack log preferences down and the sever poll option is on my screen for perhaps a couple seconds. Similarly, if someone is in combat(as is common at round end), the option to choose the next map or call the transfer shuttle is easily sent into the abyss that is combat chatspam.

  27. Hello fellow crew, I am Impedus, my main character is Melinda Therrel. I've been on Paradise Station on and off for apparently six and a half years now, I honestly thought it was longer. Late introduction much? I've been known to take long hiatuses from SS13, as I do from pretty much every game I play, but sure enough I keep coming back, probably because SS13 is somehow one of the most immersive RPGs I've ever played despite being intentionally ridiculous, am I right? A few things about me: I like to consider myself as a STEM nerd IRL, my favorite RPG is call of cthulhu, and when I was a kid I wanted to grow up and become a dinosaur. My main departments on paradise station are currently botany and internal affairs, and I'm usually thrilled to train people on how to master those departments. I enjoy making paperwork formats for SS13, so feel free to hit me up for any of your future paperwork needs, if you have an interesting idea for a form that might be useful to the daily workings of a department, let me know! Though I do have a long list of more obvious form ideas I still need to burn through. I look forward to continuing to see all of you!

  30. Hah I saw the poker game in passing, considered joining, though went past, got an AEG and had a space long fighting adventure and saved an ERT, managed to even get a blue ERT uniform from one who didn't make it and hitched a ride with the ERT back to CC when it was all over. The warden who was there for reasons i'm still not sure and asked if we could put our weapons on the table as it was now green alert. I unloaded enough guns from my bag to arm a small militia. 3 AEGs from my original bag, 3 more from the ERT who i found dead, his sidearm, and an immolator cannon
