  1. As I am not a coder, I will preface this with an obligatory "I don't know how this would be implemented" Anyways, with that out of the way. I would like to suggest (not sure if been suggested before) that we add a 'nonbinary' option to gender when creating characters. I imagine that it would be similar to taking the already existing examination descriptions when people are masked or in hardsuits with the 'They are...' and such. But would extend to when unmasked. It might also include extended clothing options for people who pick it. I would certainly use the option and I believe that if it were an option, other players might feel more comfortable with it too. Thank you for reading.

  5. Posted a PR adding the existing system to all species rather than just a subset of them. This does mean that anyone who picks the 'Genderless' option will use the female sprite by default, but I personally don't see that as too big of an issue. This is more for the pronouns than anything else at the moment. https://github.com/ParadiseSS13/Paradise/pull/16007

  6. I would disagree that it's a baseless claim to make, when a claim of it making a mechanical impact was part of the original post. It's making an argument that the system has at some point caused either his or someone's Diona character to die instead of healing off of the brighter normal lights. This is further implied with the comment of it being "Nice from an RP perspective but for an overall game experience it is preferable to be disabled." as this is more or less acknowledging that the RP side of things is not the argument being made, but the mechanical impacts it has. Affected has commented on the performance side of things, which is that it doesn't really impact much if anything other then the initial swap of lightning modes, their other argument is not about how it is from an RP stand point, which leaves only the mechanical argument left to be of any concern, so, I disagree that it's a ludicrous take to have on the argument so far. A bit assumptive that he plays a Diona, sure, but still not -that- ludicrous of a take. And the mechanical argument itself can be unraveled by the counterpoint of just using the PDA you spawn with, using the PDA light is enough light a Diona suffers no problems. The effort of removing the system seems unwarranted, it still does add -some- RP value as you and the OP have stated, and the actual negative impacts are incredibly slim.

  7. Male and female human sprites are different, so this would require a new set of sprites. Now for the bit where twitter cancels me. The gender option determines how your body is ingame. IRL, you have either a male body or a female body. Thats how it is. This does raise the question of "Add a separate preference as what you want to identify as", but that would require redoing of all the existing pronoun code to use an identify_gender var instead of the regular one, which is just going to cause headaches all around.

  8. Agreed, a genderless/nonbinary option should be available for all species

  9. Clown holding a speeddating event which included customized romantic gifts for all participants. The gifts were weight loss shakes, burnt cigarretts, a bloody photo of a plasmaman, a katana, a toddler and other assorted junk I found laying around. Some just came to watch the trainwreck, but ended up participating. Love, after all, is best experienced up close, not at a distance.
